CIBC grabs T&T Exchange market share


CIBC Caribbean Bank ended with 505, 566 shares being traded for 85 percent of shares traded following a jump in trading activity on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday. At the close, the number of stocks traded surged 568 percent, valued 312 percent more than on Wednesday, following trading of 27 securities up from 22 on Wednesday and ending with prices of 11 stocks rising, five declining and 11 ending firm.

The market closed with trading of 593,969 shares for $4,934,632 after climbing from 88,862 stock units at $1,198,896 on Wednesday.
An average of 21,999 shares were traded at $182,764, after increasing from 4,039 stock units at $54,495 on Wednesday, with trading month to date, averaging 16,550 shares at $145,397, moderately above 16,021 units at $141,766 on the previous day and an average for July of 11,573 shares at $105,485.
The Composite Index climbed 1.12 points to 1,016.67, the All T&T Index rose 3.90 points to end at 1,434.43, the SME Index dipped 0.48 points to 75.97 and the Cross-Listed Index shed 0.27 points to close at 79.87.

Steady trading on T&T Stock Exchange


Trading remained fairly steady on Monday, with activities on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, with the volume and value of stocks exchanged marginally different from activity on Friday resulting from activities in 23 securities similar to Friday and ending with prices of eight stocks rising, seven declining and eight closing firm.

The market closed with 1,053,069 shares trading for $8,243,726, after sliding from 1,092,759 stock units at $9,193,762 on Friday.
An average of 45,786 shares were traded at $358,423 compared with 47,511 units at $399,729 on Friday. Trading month to date averages 16,273 shares valued at $135,175 after increasing from 13,101 units at $111,181 on the previous day and an average of 11,573 shares at $105,485 in July .

Trading jumps on T&T Stock Exchange


Trading activity picked up sharply above Wednesday’s levels on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with a 215 percent jump in the volume of stocks traded, with the value climbing 120 percent. Trading resulted in 26 securities changing hands, up sharply compared with 17 on Wednesday and ending with prices of five stocks rising, 11 declining and 10 ending firm.

Trading ended with an exchange of 262,585 shares for $2,287,297, up from 83,420 stocks at $1,039,852 on Wednesday.
An average of 10,099 shares were traded at $87,973, well above 4,907 units worth $61,168 on Wednesday. Trading for the month to date ends with an average of 7,799 shares at $73,958 compared with 6,802 units at $67,881 on the previous day and above the average of 11,573 shares at $105,485 for July.

Trading activity rose on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with a 126 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, valued 26 percent more than on Tuesday, following a surge in the number of actively traded securities, amounting to 30, well above the 16 traded on Tuesday and ending with prices of six stocks rising, 11 declining and 13 ended firm.

The market closed with trading of 136,226 shares for $1,653,908 compared with just 60,377 stock units at $1,303,992 on Tuesday.

CIBC leads Trinidad Stock Exchange

Massy pushes T&T Exchange trading


Massy Holdings contributed 65 percent of the volume traded on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, helping to push the volume of stocks traded up by 377 percent and the value 139 percent more than on Monday, following trading in 24 securities up from 23 on Monday and ending with prices of 10 s advancing, five declining and nine ending firm.

The market closed with trading of 252,623 shares for $1,731,606, up from 52,964 stocks at $724,916 on Monday.

At the close of trading, Agostini rallied 5 cents to finish at $58.45 in an exchange of 47 stocks, Angostura Holdings increased 40 cents and ended at $10.80 with investors swapping 3,831 units, Ansa McAl lost 5 cents to end at $47.15, with 220 shares passing through the market. Ansa Merchant Bank dipped 1 cent to close at $28.49 after an exchange of 6 stock units, AS Bryden ended at $1.40 after 1,429 shares were exchanged, CIBC Caribbean Bank ended at $7.60 after a transfer of 247 stock units. CinemaOne ended at $3.98 after swapping 10 units, Eric Solis Marketing fell 10 cents to $4.10 after the trading of a mere one stock, First Citizens Group climbed 25 cents to finish at $39.25 as investors exchanged 374 shares. Trading plunges on T&T Stock Exchange


Trading plunged sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with a 97 percent drop in the volume of stocks traded, and a 92 percent lower value than on Wednesday. Market activity resulted in 21 securities trading compared with 17 on Wednesday and ended with prices of five rising, seven declining and nine ending firm.

The market closed with trading of only 52,919 shares for $497,504 compared to 1,518,030 stock units at $5,894,761 on Wednesday.
An average of 2,520 shares were traded at $23,691 each, compared to 89,296 stock units at $346,751 on Wednesday, with trading month to date averaging 41,341 shares at $168,058, down from an average for June of 14,083 shares at $118,753.
The Composite Index increased 0.05 points to end at 991.43, the All T&T Index dipped 0.68 points to 1,434.95, the SME Index lost 7.64 points to finish at 79.28 and the Cross-Listed Index climbed 0.12 points to close at 72.31.
