Trading dipped on T&T Stock Exchange 


Trading activity dipped on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 52 percent, valued 25 percent less than on Monday following an exchanging of 19 securities down from 23 on Monday and ending with prices of six rising, four declining and nine ending firm.

The market closed with trading of 508,318 shares worth $6,175,762, after falling from 1,053,069 stock units at $8,243,726 on Monday.
An average of 26,754 shares were traded at $325,040 compared with 45,786 units at $358,423 on the preceding day, with trading month to date averaging 17,051 shares at $149,266 after increasing from 16,273 units at $135,175 on the previous day and an average  of 11,573 shares for $105,485 for July.
The Composite Index declined 1.99 points to 1,012.67, the All T&T Index skidded 5.38 points to settle at 1,430.76, the SME Index rallied 0.05 points to 71.27 and the Cross-Listed Index rose 0.24 points to end at 79.25.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
At the close of trading, Agostini increased $4.90 in closing at $54.90 with investors swapping 150 units, Ansa McAl dipped 50 cents to $45 with an exchange of 3,071 stocks, AS Bryden remained at $1.49 with 3 shares crossing the market. CIBC Caribbean Bank ended at $7.55 in switching ownership of 403,927 stock units, Endeavour Holdings finished the trading of 10 shares at $14.60, Eric Solis Marketing ended trading at $4.17 following an exchange of 472 shares. First Citizens Group climbed 30 cents $39.30 with the trading of 4,486 units, GraceKennedy rallied by 8 cents to end at $4 after a transfer of 27,075 stock units, Guardian Holdings ended at $16.30 after trading of 2,949 shares. JMMB Group lost 1 cent to settle at 84 cents after an exchange of 100 stock units, Massy Holdings remained at $3.40 with a transfer of 6,619 units, National Enterprises ended at $4.70 with a mere one stock crossing the exchange. National Flour Mills ended at $1.56 with investors trading 5,330 units, NCB Financial remained at $3.43 with one stock clearing the market, Point Lisas remained at $7 as investors exchanged 500 shares. Republic Financial dropped 20 cents to $110 with 4,901 stock units passing through the market, Scotiabank gained 1 cent to end at $45.51 with investors dealing in 44,641 shares, Trinidad & Tobago NGL fell 9 cents to finish at $10.40 with 3,832 stocks crossing the market and West Indian Tobacco rallied 20 cents and ended at $4.20 in an exchange of 250 units.
