Another day of fallen Junior Market stocks


JFP, décor and custom furniture manufacturers, grabbed the biggest slice of trading on Tuesday, with 36 percent of total shares traded on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. Trading dipped 37 percent, with fall in volume and a 35 percent drop in value compared to Monday, following trading in 41 securities, down from 45 on Monday and ending, with prices of 15 rising, 20 declining and six closing unchanged.

The market closed with trading of 10,567,865 shares for $12,183,386, after falling from 16,880,642 units at $18,718,294 on Monday.
Trading averaged 257,753 shares at $297,156, down from 375,125 stock units at $415,962 on Monday with the month to date, averaging 356,545 stock units for $508,718 after slipping from 365,965 stock units at $528,890 on the previous day and more than an average of 280,479 shares worth $401,436 in July,
JFP led trading with 3.83 million shares for 36.2 percent of total volume followed by Woodcats International with 1.45 million stocks for 13.8 percent of the day’s trade and ONE on ONE Educational with 1.10 million units for 10.4 percent of the day’s trade.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index dipped 11.2 points to finish at 2,898.11. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 11.2. The PE ratios, are compiled by ICInsider.com which are derived by dividing the last traded price of a stock by the earnings per share for companies with their fiscal year ending around August 2026.
At the close of the market, Access Financial popped 11 cents to close at $16.86 with 352 units changing hands, Blue Power slipped 5 cents to end at $3.65 with an exchange of 3,327 stock units, Consolidated Bakeries fell 10 cents to close at $1.35 with 23,000 shares clearing the market. Derrimon Trading dropped 7 cents to a 52 weeks low of 82 cents in an exchange of 29,649 stock units, Dolla Financial lost 20 cents in closing at $3.50 with investors trading 831,406 shares, Dolphin Cove declined 11 cents to finish at $10.89 after a transfer of 2,966 units. Elite Diagnostic shed 21 cents and finished at $1.18 with 5,065 stocks crossing the exchange, Everything Fresh climbed 27 cents to $2.07 with a transfer of 1,010 stock units, Fontana rose 5 cents to finish at $6.20 with investors trading 7,204 shares. Iron Rock Insurance rallied 20 cents to close at $2.20 with an exchange of 36 stock units, Mailpac Group skidded 11 cents in settling at $2.50 with 223,857 stocks crossing the market, ONE on ONE Educational dipped 10 cents to 55 cents in switching ownership of 1,097,296 stock units. Regency Petroleum increased 8 cents in closing at $4.48 with traders dealing in 62,333 shares, Spur Tree Spices advanced 10 cents to $1.28 in trading 777,483 units and Stationery and Office Supplies gained 5 cents to finish at $1.55 with 2,852 stocks passing through the market.
