Jump in rising stocks on JSE USD Market


Trading held up well on the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, with activity in 13 securities, up from just six on Friday and ended with prices of eight rising, three declining and two ending unchanged.

The market closed with an exchange of 880,044 shares worth US$69,247 after declining moderately from 1,076,367 stock units at US$79,709 on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 67,696 shares at US$5,327 after dropping from 179,395 stock units at US$13,285 on Friday, with a month to date average of 134,380 units at US$11,717 down from 144,344 stock units at US$12,672 on the previous day and compares with July with an average of 132,012 units for US$49,788.
The US Denominated Equities Index declined 3.26 points to settle at 319.37. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows none ended with a bid higher than the last selling price and two with lower offers.
The PE Ratio, one of the most used measures to determine appropriate stock values, averages 15.5. ICInsider.com compiles the earnings per share and the PE used in this report. The PE ratio is derived by dividing the last traded price of a stock by the earnings per share for the financial year ending around August 2026.
At the close of trading, AS Bryden advanced 0.18 of one cent to end at 17.1 US cents in trading 588 stocks, First Rock Real Estate USD share rose 0.07 of a cent in closing at 1.87 US cents after hitting a 52 weeks intraday low of 0,153 cents, with 28,120 units crossing the exchange, Margaritaville skidded 0.01 of a cent to 5 US cents with investors trading 300 shares. MPC Caribbean Clean Energy lost 0.01 of one cent to finish at 22.99 US cents in an exchange of 412 stock units, Proven Investments rallied 0.36 of one cent and ended at 5.96 US cents with investors trading 31,385 shares,  Quantas Advantage increased 0.09 of one cent to close at 9.61 US cents in an exchange of 2,000 stock units. Sterling Investments ended at 2 US cents with swapping of 4,523 stocks, Sygnus Credit Investments climbed 0.2 of one cent and ended at 5.6 US cents with a transfer of 14,794 stock units and Transjamaican Highway popped 0.5 of one cent to end at 8 US cents with 796,666 shares crossing the market.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 7.5% gained 10 cents in closing at US$2.10 after trading of 2 stocks, JMMB Group US8.5% dropped 4 cents to close at US$1.25 with 1,000 units clearing the market, Productive Business Solutions 9.25% rose 1 cent to finish at US$10.92 after a transfer of 20 stock units and Sygnus Credit Investments E8.5% remained at US$9.90 with investors dealing in 234 shares.
