Transjamaican Highway took 46 percent of the value of stocks traded on the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, following a 64 percent jump in value of trading and a 11 percent decline in the volume of stocks changing hands compared with Wednesday. Trading resulting in an exchange of nine securities, in equaling trading on Wednesday, with prices of three rising, four declining and two ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 221,390 shares for US$28,376 compared to 248,902 stock units at US$17,256 on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 24,599 shares at US$3,153 versus 27,656 stock units at US$1,917 on Wednesday. Trading for the month to date averages 141,748 units at US$12,627 down from 156,391 stock units at US$13,811 on the previous day and with an average of 132,012 units for US$49,788 in July.
The US Denominated Equities Index rose 4.93 points to finish at 314.64. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and none with a lower offer.

At the close of trading, First Rock Real Estate USD share gained 0.07 of a cent and ended at 1.87 US cents after a transfer of 882 stock units, Productive Business Solutions fell 10 cents to 75 US cents with investors trading 107 shares, Proven Investments dipped 0.3 of a cent to finish at 5.6 US cents with an exchange of 31,820 stocks. Sterling Investments ended at 2 US cents with 9,697 units changing hands, Sygnus Credit Investments shed 0.28 of a cent in closing at 5.12 US cents after trading of 2,075 stocks and Transjamaican Highway rose 0.71 of one cent to close at 7.77 US cents in switching ownership of 171,396 shares.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 7.5% declined 9 cents to US$2 with a transfer of 5,000 stock units, JMMB Group US8.5% climbed 6 cents to finish at US$1.29 in trading 128 units and Sygnus Credit Investments E8.5% remained at US$9.90 with 285 stocks clearing the market.
