Trading surged sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded jumping 691 percent, valued at 869 percent more than on Thursday. Trading ended with an exchange of 23 securities the same as on Thursday and ended with prices of 10 stocks rising, five declining and eight ended firm.
The market closed with trading of 1,092,759 shares for $9,193,762 compared to 138,067 stock units at $948,356 on Thursday.
Trading closed with an average of 47,511 shares amounting to $399,729 up from 6,003 units at $41,233 on Thursday. Trading month to date averages 13,101 shares at $111,181 from 8,958 units at $76,432 on the previous day and an average for July of 11,573 shares at $105,485.
The Composite Index rallied 12.89 points to finish at 1,015.28, the All T&T Index climbed 13.84 points to close at 1,437.73, the SME Index lost 0.45 points to conclude trading at 71.22 and the Cross-Listed Index popped 1.68 points to wrap up trading at 78.95.

At the close, Agostini remained at $50 and closed with an exchange of 252 stock units, Angostura Holdings dropped 65 cents to end at a 52 weeks low of $10 with investors trading 6,068 shares, Ansa McAl ended at $47 following switching ownership of 631 units.
Ansa Merchant Bank ended at $28.30, with 90 stocks crossing the market, AS Bryden ended at $1.50 with an exchange of 2,006 shares, CIBC Caribbean Bank rallied 5 cents to end at $7.55, with 609,395 stocks crossing the market. Endeavour Holdings rallied $2.10 to $14.85 as investors exchanged 503 units, First Citizens Group shed 50 cents in closing at $38, with trading of 12,819 stocks, GraceKennedy popped 2 cents in closing at $3.92 with trading of 50,460 units. Guardian Holdings gained 5 cents and ended at $16.30 with 2,702 stocks clearing the market, JMMB Group fell 2 cents to finish at 82 cents after a transfer of 2 shares, Massy Holdings rose 5 cents to end at $3.49 with investors trading 117,132 stock units. National Enterprises advanced 5 cents in closing at $4.55 in an exchange of 1,291 shares, National Flour Mills popped 1 cent to $1.55 after trading of 145,999 units, NCB Financial popped 18 cents to finish at $3.43 after an exchange of 100 stocks. One Caribbean Media slipped 4 cents and ended at $1.63 with 611 shares changing hands, Point Lisas remained at $6.90 after an exchange of 1,100 shares, Republic Financial ended at $110.50 with a transfer of 2,247 stocks.
Scotiabank gained 1 cent in closing at $45.50, with 31,167 units crossing the exchange, Trinidad & Tobago NGL remained at $10.49 with investors dealing in 48,940 stock units, Trinidad Cement ended at $1.75, with an exchange of 613 shares, Unilever Caribbean rose 20 cents to close at $15 after 58,487 stocks were traded and West Indian Tobacco lost 20 cents to close at $4 crossing the market 144 units.
