Junior Market slides


Losers outpaced winners by a wide margin at the end of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, following a 16 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded, with a 31 percent lower value than on Friday, following trading in 45 securities, up from 41 on Friday and ending, with prices of 13 rising, 23 declining and nine closing unchanged.

The market closed with trading of 5,925,566 shares for $9,681,947, after falling from 7,037,073 units at $14,063,213 on Friday.
Trading averaged 131,679 shares at $215,154, down from 171,636 stock units at $343,005 on Friday. Trading for the month to date averaged 259,190 stock units at $387,546, compared to 277,122 shares at $411,789 on the prior trading day, and June ended with an average of 1,591,326 shares at $1,703,148.
Woodcats International was the leading traded stock with 855,427 shares for 14.4 percent of total volume followed by Atlantic Hardware with 791,489 units for 13.4 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 622,974 stocks for 10.5 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of market activity, the Junior Market Index dropped 26.01 points to 2,976.42. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 11 stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.

Rising Junior Market stocks edge out losers 


Rising stocks closed ahead of the losers on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday following trading of 41 securities, similar to Thursday and ending with prices of 18 rising, 15 declining and eight closing unchanged. The volume of stocks traded was closely in sync with Thursday’s trade.

The market closed with trading of 7,037,073 shares for $14,063,213, after sliding from 7,119,364 units at $12,985,622 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 171,636 shares at $343,005, compared to 173,643 stocks at $316,722 on Thursday with the month to date, averaging 277,122 units at $411,789 after falling from 292,623 stock units at $421,897 on the previous day and an average of 1,591,326 shares at $1,703,148 for June.
Dolla Financial led trading with 2.40 million shares accounting for 34.1 percent of total volume, followed by Fosrich with 1.24 million units for 17.7 percent of the day’s trade and Woodcats International with 614,441 stocks for 8.7 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index gained 6.57 points to close at 3,002.43. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.

Trading dips on the JSE Junior Market


A slight dip in trading, with the number of stocks changing hands falling by a mere 6 percent with a a5 percent, lower value than Thursday on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday and ended with an exchange of 42 securities, up from 39 on Thursday, with prices of 18 rising, 14 declining and 10 closing unchanged. 

The market closed with trading of 5,021,858 shares for $5,215,776, down from 5,339,628 stock units at $5,510,947 on Thursday.
Trading ended with an average of 119,568 shares at $124,185, down from 136,914 units at $141,306 on Thursday. Trading for the month to date averages 158,428 stock units at $197,688 compared to 178,578 shares at $235,800 on Thursday and June, that ended with an average of 1,591,326 shares for $1,703,148.
RA Williams led trading with 2.21 million shares for 44 percent of total volume, followed by Woodcats International with 658,630 units for 13.1 percent of the day’s trade and Fosrich with 424,510 stocks for 8.5 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index popped 0.32 points higher to end at 3,076.23.

Big jump for the Junior Market


Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, following activities in 39 securities, down from 42 on Wednesday and ending with prices of 17 rising, 11 declining and 11 closing unchanged. The volume of stocks traded fell 41 percent, with 59 percent lower value than on Wednesday, resulting in a notable rally in the market index.

The market closed with trading of 5,339,628 shares for $5,510,947, after tumbling from 9,125,195 units at $13,588,868 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 136,914 shares at $141,306, after declining from 217,267 stock units at $323,544 on Wednesday, with the month to date, averaging 178,578 units at $235,800 compared to an average of 1,591,326 shares at $1,703,148 in June.

Trading jumps on the Junior Market


Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 97 percent, with 87 percent greater value than Monday, following trading in 41 securities, compared with 42 on Monday and ending with prices of 14 rising, 17 declining and 10 closing unchanged, with the market declining 9.2 percent for the first six months of the year.

The market closed with trading of 35,931,023 shares with a value of $49,043,464, up from 18,239,490 units at $26,227,124 on Monday.
Trading averaged 876,366 shares at $1,196,182, up from 434,274 stocks at $624,455 on Monday.  Trading ended month to date, with an average of 1,591,326 units at $1,703,148, moderately below the 1,623,82 stock units at $1,726,192 on the prior day and well above May, with an average of 644,187 shares at $540,889.
ONE on ONE Educational led trading with 19.27 million shares for 53.6 percent of total volume followed by Jamaican Teas which ended with 4.09 million stocks for 11.4 percent of the day’s trade, Dolla Financial closed with 3.38 million stocks for 9.4 percent of the volume traded, Kintyre Holdings ended with 2.17 million units for 6 percent of the total trade, Stationery and Office Supplies with 2.0 million units for 5.6 percent of the day’s volume and Image Plus with 1.03 million units for 2.9 percent of market share.

Junior Market jumps into the weekend


Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, with prices of 16 rising, 14 declining and 11 closing unchanged and sending the market index sharply higher at the close. The market closed with activity in 41 securities, compared with 43 on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 28 percent, with a 52 percent lower value than on Thursday.

The market closed with trading of 22,203,329 shares for $24,288,171, declining from 30,983,056 units at $50,392,893 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 541,545 shares for $592,394, down from 720,536 stocks at $1,171,928 on Thursday. Trading month to date ended with an average of 1,681,918 units at $1,779,998, down from 1,739,007 stock units at $1,839,451 on the previous day, well above May, with an average of 644,187 shares at $540,889.
Kintyre Holdings led trading with 11.24 million shares for 50.6 percent of total volume, followed by Jamaican Teas, ending with 3.01 million stocks for 13.5 percent of the day’s trade, Dolla Financial closed with 2.58 million stocks for 11.6 percent of the volume traded and Fosrich with 1.13 million units for 5.1 percent of market share.

Trading jumps on JSE Junior Market


The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 21 percent, with 12 percent more value than on Tuesday, with Kintyre Holdings holding on to the volume leader’s position after trading 17.57 million shares. The Junior Market Index slipped after trading in 45 securities, up from 43 on Tuesday and ending, with prices of 15 advancing, 17 declining and 13 closing unchanged.

The market closed with trading of 22,552,332 shares for $11,669,747, compared with 18,569,665 units at $10,390,828 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 501,163 shares at $259,328, after jumping from 431,853 stock units at $241,647 on Tuesday, with the month to date, averaging 1,795,443 units at $1,876,440down from 1,875,118 stock units at $1,975,988 on the previous day and well above May, with an average of only 644,187 shares at $540,889.
Kintyre Holdings led trading with 17.57 million shares for 77.9 percent of total volume, followed by Woodcats International with 1.10 million units for 4.9 percent of the day’s trade and One Great Studio with 651,528 stocks for 2.9 percent of the volume traded.

Gains for the JSE Junior Market


Trading in Kintyre Holdings shares jumped on Tuesday as the price headed back to the 20-cent range, with investors focusing on the low-priced stock, capturing 70 percent of the shares traded and ending as the volume leader for another day on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. At the close of the market, the volume of stocks traded rose 59 percent, with 6 percent lower value than Monday, following trading in 43 securities, compared with 44 on Monday and ending with prices of 24 rising, nine declining and 10 closing unchanged and ending with a rise in the market index.

The market closed with trading of 18,569,665 shares at $10,390,828, compared with 11,656,263 units at $11,088,799 on Monday.
Trading averaged 431,853 shares at $241,647, versus 264,915 stocks at $252,018 on Monday, with the month to date, averaging 1,875,118 units at $1,975,988, after declining from 1,965,322 units at $2,084,384 on the previous day and in May, with an average of 644,187 shares at $540,889.
Kintyre Holdings led trading with 13.11 million shares for 70.6 percent of total volume, followed by Woodcats International with 2.02 million stocks for 10.9 percent of the day’s trade and Stationery and Office Supplies with 1.16 million units for 6.2 percent of the day’s trade.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index popped 14.06 points to 3,042.75. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows five stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.

Fosrich lost 5 cents in closing at $1.60 with a transfer of 79,569 units, GWest Corporation climbed 5 cents to finish at 55 cents following trading of 1,701 stocks, Image Plus dipped 13 cents and finished at 60 cents after an exchange of 58,458 stock units. Indies Pharma advanced 8 cents to end at $2.78 with investors trading 12,478 shares, Jetcon Corporation rose 34 cents in closing at $2.75 with 47,502 units crossing the market, JFP rallied 5 cents to close at 34 cents after an exchange of 105,061 stocks. Junior Market steady with outclassed winners


Winners were outnumbered by decliners on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, with the market index barely moving at the close, following trading in 44 securities, down from 43 on Friday, and ending with prices of 13 advancing, 18 falling, and 13 closing unchanged. The volume of stocks traded slipped 12 percent, with a 43 percent lower value than on Friday.

The market closed with trading of 11,656,263 shares worth $11,088,799, after sliding from 13,183,970 units for $19,399,701 on Friday.
Trading averaged 264,915 shares at $252,018, after decreasing from 306,604 stock units at $451,156 on Friday. Trading for the month to date averages 1,965,322 units at $2,084,384, down from 2,081,499 stock units at $2,209,577 on the previous day and for May, with an average of 644,187 shares, with an average value of $540,889.
Kintyre Holdings led trading with 5.85 million shares for 50.2 percent of total volume, followed by Woodcats International with 1.63 million stocks for 14 percent of the day’s trade and Dolla Financial with 1.42 million units for 12.1 percent of the day’s trade.

Jetcon Corporation dipped 21 cents to $2.41 with an exchange of 43,003 shares, Knutsford Express skidded 68 cents to close at $7.80 with 14 stocks crossing the market, Lasco Financial fell 34 cents to $1.81 as investors exchanged 41,475 units.
