The market closed with trading of 9,747,481 shares for $10,809,958, in slipping from 10,567,865 units at $12,183,386 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 216,611 shares worth $240,221, following a fall from 257,753 units at $297,156 on Tuesday. Trading for the month to date, averages 344,341 units at $485,303, moderately lower than 356,545 stock units at $508,718 on the preceding day, well above July, with an average of 280,479 shares at $401,436.
Woodcats International was the leading volume trader with 3.04 million shares for 31.1 percent of total volume followed by RA Williams Sluggish with 1.76 million stocks for 18 percent of the day’s trade and Atlantic Hardware with 1.23 million stock units for 12.6 percent of the day’s volume of stocks changing hands.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index climbed 14.96 points to finish at 2,913.07. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 12 stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
