Cargo Handlers climbed $1.48 to lead the price movers following the closing of trading activity on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, following a modest fall in the volume of stocks traded by 7 percent, with a 36 percent drop in value compared to Wednesday. Investors traded 40 securities, down from 43 on Wednesday and ending with prices of 17 rising, 16 declining and seven closing unchanged.

The market closed with trading of 6,511,089 shares for $7,695,614, after sliding from 7,025,518 units at $12,095,456 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 162,777 shares for $192,390, after declining from 163,384 stock units at $281,290 on Wednesday. Trading for the month to date, averaging 245,623 units at $369,942, skidding from 253,036 stocks valued at $385,831 on the preceding day, well lower than an average of 1,591,326 shares at $1,703,148 for June.
Woodcats International ended as the leading trade with 1.93 million shares for 29.7 percent of total volume, followed by Atlantic Hardware with 938,829 units for 14.4 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 692,316 stocks for 10.6 percent of the volume traded.

Dolphin Cove jumps 23% on Junior Market


Dolphin Cove jumped 23 percent to close at a 52 weeks high of $14.85, with trading in 31,458 shares following the news that a new company has negotiated to acquire the majority shares. Trading closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with an exchange of 43 securities, up from 39 on Tuesday and ending with prices of 19 rising, 14 declining and 10 closing unchanged, sending the market higher at the close.

The market closed with a 39 percent drop in the number of shares traded amounting to 7,025,518 units, down from 11,477,220 units on Tuesday, following a 36 percent fall in value to $12,095,456, vastly lower than the $18,916,410 traded previously.
Trading averaged 163,384 shares at $281,290, after falling from 294,288 stock units at $485,036 on Tuesday. Trading month to date, averages 253,036 stocks at $385,831, down from 262,579 units at $396,957 on the previous day and June, with an average of 1,591,326 shares at $1,703,148.

The market closed with trading of 5,925,566 shares for $9,681,947, after falling from 7,037,073 units at $14,063,213 on Friday.
Trading averaged 131,679 shares at $215,154, down from 171,636 stock units at $343,005 on Friday. A slight dip in trading, with the number of stocks changing hands falling by a mere 6 percent with a a5 percent, lower value than Thursday on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday and ended with an exchange of 42 securities, up from 39 on Thursday, with prices of 18 rising, 14 declining and 10 closing unchanged. 

The market closed with trading of 5,021,858 shares for $5,215,776, down from 5,339,628 stock units at $5,510,947 on Thursday.
Trading ended with an average of 119,568 shares at $124,185, down from 136,914 units at $141,306 on Thursday. Big jump for the Junior Market

Trading jumps on the Junior Market


Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 97 percent, with 87 percent greater value than Monday, following trading in 41 securities, compared with 42 on Monday and ending with prices of 14 rising, 17 declining and 10 closing unchanged, with the market declining 9.2 percent for the first six months of the year.

The market closed with trading of 35,931,023 shares with a value of $49,043,464, up from 18,239,490 units at $26,227,124 on Monday.
Trading averaged 876,366 shares at $1,196,182, up from 434,274 stocks at $624,455 on Monday.  Trading ended month to date, with an average of 1,591,326 units at $1,703,148, moderately below the 1,623,82 stock units at $1,726,192 on the prior day and well above May, with an average of 644,187 shares at $540,889.

Junior Market bounces into new week


Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 18 percent, with 8 percent more value than Friday. Trading ended with an exchange of 42 securities, compared with 41 on Friday, resulting in prices of 16 rising, 19 declining and seven closing unchanged.

The market closed with trading of 18,239,490 shares for $26,227,124, compared with 22,203,329 stock units worth $24,288,171 on Friday. Trading averaged 434,274 shares at $624,455, compared to 541,545 stock units at $592,394 on Friday with the month to date, averaging 1,623,824 stock units at $1,726,192 compared with 1,681,918 shares at $1,779,998 on the previous trading day and May, with an average of 644,187 shares at $540,889. Jamaican Teas led trading with 4.04 million shares for 22.1 percent of total volume, followed by ONE on ONE Educational, with 3.16 million stocks for 17.3 percent of the day’s trade, Kintyre Holdings closed with 3.09 million stocks for 16.9 percent of the volume traded and Stationery and Office Supplies with 2.01 million units for 11 percent of market trade. At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index gained 15.66 points to close at 3,093.82. Junior Market jumps into the weekend


Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, with prices of 16 rising, 14 declining and 11 closing unchanged and sending the market index sharply higher at the close. The market closed with activity in 41 securities, compared with 43 on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 28 percent, with a 52 percent lower value than on Thursday.

The market closed with trading of 22,203,329 shares for $24,288,171, declining from 30,983,056 units at $50,392,893 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 541,545 shares for $592,394, down from 720,536 stocks at $1,171,928 on Thursday. Trading month to date ended with an average of 1,681,918 units at $1,779,998, down from 1,739,007 stock units at $1,839,451 on the previous day, well above May, with an average of 644,187 shares at $540,889.
Kintyre Holdings led trading with 11.24 million shares for 50.6 percent of total volume, followed by Jamaican Teas, ending with 3.01 million stocks for 13.5 percent of the day’s trade, Dolla Financial closed with 2.58 million stocks for 11.6 percent of the volume traded and Fosrich with 1.13 million units for 5.1 percent of market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index jumped 53.39 points to end at 3,078.16. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
