Heavy Regency trading on Junior Market


Regency Petroleum led trading with 17 million shares for 70.6 percent of total volume followed by Kintyre Holdings, with 3.4 million stocks for 14.1 percent of the day’s trade and ONE on ONE Educational with 1.7 million stock units for 7.1 percent of the day’s trade as they pushed the volume and value of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange well above trading on Tuesday, with a 281 percent rise in the volume traded valued 371 percent more than on Tuesday.

The Junior Market Index rose 34.11 points to end at 3,569.60 following trading in 41 securities, down from 46 on Tuesday, with prices of only 13 rising, 20 declining and eight closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 24,097,251 shares for $57,354,315, four times the 6,318,830 units traded on Tuesday at $12,174,798.
Trading averaged 587,738 shares worth $1,398,886, well above the 137,366 stock units at $264,670 on Tuesday, with the month to date, averaging 349,610 units at $799,185 compared to March with an average of 307,021 shares at $759,432.
At the close of trading, The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows eight stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 14.3, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
At the close of an active day of trading, Access Financial dropped 42 cents to finish at $17 with a transfer of just 362 shares, AMG Packaging shed 30 cents and ended at $2.80 with 4,588 stocks crossing the market, Blue Power declined 10 cents to $5 with 4,494 shares ended in exchanging stock ownership. CAC 2000 lost 15 cents to end at $2 with investors trading 50,000 units, Caribbean Cream dipped 10 cents in closing at $2.50 in an exchange of 1,076 stock units, Derrimon Trading advanced 6 cents to close at $1.95 with traders dealing in 10 shares. Elite Diagnostic rose 19 cents to $1.79 in an exchange of 29,730 units, Fontana rallied 12 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $9.55 with investors dealing in 115,637 stocks, GWest Corporation sank 16 cents in closing at 94 cents after a transfer of 17 stock units. Indies Pharma skidded 47 cents to close at $3.63 in trading 21,733 shares, Iron Rock Insurance fell 30 cents and ended at $3.30 with 46,000 stocks clearing the market, Jamaican Teas slipped 18 cents to finish at $2.31 as investors exchanged 11,870 units. JFP sank 5 cents and ended at 60 cents after investors traded 37,727 stock units, Lasco Financial increased 6 cents to $1.70 after an exchange of 670 shares, Limners and Bards popped 10 cents to finish at $1.18 with 80,176 stock units passing through the market. Lumber Depot lost 6 cents to close at $2.99 after an exchange of 4,295 stocks, Main Event gained $2.39 to end at $11.70 with just 2 units changing hands and Regency Petroleum shed 35 cents in closing at $2.95 with an exchange of a healthy 17,015,135 shares.
