Trading activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Tuesday, with a 14 percent decline in the volume of stocks traded, and a 29 percent lower value than Monday, following trading in all 48 listed securities up from 42 on Monday and ending with prices of 16 rising, 23 declining and nine closing unchanged, ending with the Junior Market Index dropping 33.75 points to end at 3,489.17.
The market closed with trading of 4,991,142 shares for $9,986,456, below the 5,814,492 stock units at $14,058,219 on Monday.
Trading averaged 103,982 shares at $208,051, lower than 138,440 stocks at $334,720 on Monday, with trading for the month to date, averaging 253,581 stock units at $876,049 from 288,781 units at $1,033,226 on the previous day and March with an average of 307,021 shares at $759,432.
Tropical Battery led trading with 895,136 shares for 17.9 percent of the total volume followed by Everything Fresh that ended with 785,720 units for 15.7 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 610,799 stocks for 12.2 percent of the volume traded.
At the close of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 13.9, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped 23 cents to end at $16.75 after just 2,748 shares changed hands, AMG Packaging climbed 10 cents in closing at $3 after a transfer of 1,745 units, Blue Power lost 41 cents to close at $4.59 with 3,764 shares switching owners. CAC 2000 popped 30 cents to close at $2.30 with traders dealing in 600 stock units, Cargo Handlers skidded 69 cents and ended at $10.50 with 235 stocks clearing the market, Caribbean Flavours sank 9 cents to finish at $1.20 with a transfer of 6,445 shares. Dolphin Cove shed 15 cents and ended at $16.35 with 3,559 stock units traded at the close of the market, Elite Diagnostic sank 14 cents to $1.32 in trading 44,611 stocks, Express Catering slipped 12 cents in closing at $2.76 with 4,123 units crossing the market. Indies Pharma fell 7 cents to finish at $3.79 with an exchange of 3,117 shares, Iron Rock Insurance increased 40 cents to end at $3.70 in trading 118 stock units, ISP Finance advanced 10 cents to close at $13.10 in an exchange of 443 units after trading at 52 weeks’ intraday low of $11.08. Jamaican Teas rose 10 cents to $2.45 with investors trading 106,015 stocks, KLE Group dipped 14 cents to finish at a 52 weeks’ low of 84 cents after an exchange of 3,638 shares, Knutsford Express declined 65 cents and ended at $13.40 with investors trading 4,800 stocks. Lasco Financial gained 5 cents to close at $1.69 with 5,009 units passing through the market, Lumber Depot rallied 6 cents to end at $3.05 as investors exchanged 65,587 stock units, Mailpac Group increased 9 cents in closing at $2.40 with 132,799 shares crossing the market. Main Event lost $2.36 to close at $9.34 with investors dealing in 15,914 stock units, MFS Capital Partners climbed 5 cents in closing at 41 cents after an exchange of 650 stocks, Omni Industries declined 17 cents to close at 52 weeks’ low of 83 cents with investors swapping 350,837 units. Regency Petroleum shed 10 cents and ended at $3.40 with 55,624 stocks crossing the exchange and Tropical Battery dropped 39 cents to end at $2 in an exchange of 895,136 shares.
