Investors held back trading on the US Dollar Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday, resulting in a 100 percent drop in the volume and value of stocks exchanged on Tuesday. Similar to Tuesday, trading ended with an exchange of five securities, and ended with one rising and four declining.
The market closed with an exchange of a mere 16,748 shares for just US$664 after plunging from 5,859,990 stock units at US$2,002,197 on Tuesday.
Trading ended with an average of only 3,350 shares at a mere US$133 after tumbling from 1,171,998 stock units at US$400,439 on Tuesday. Trading for the month to date averages 979,775 units at US$328,335, down from 1,035,891 stock units at US$347,197 on the previous day, but well over May that ended with an average of 180,903 units for US$8,607.
The US Denominated Equities Index skidded 1.95 points to conclude trading at 232.51. The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.

At the close of trading, First Rock Real Estate USD share dropped 0.44 of a cent to finish at 2 US cents with investors swapping 6,000 shares, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy lost 1 cent in closing at 23 US cents with 97 units crossing the market, Proven Investments dipped 0.6 of one cent to 6.35 US cents after a transfer of 957 shares. Sygnus Credit Investments fell 0.4 of a cent and ended at 5.5 US cents with 204 stocks clearing the market and Transjamaican Highway climbed 0.09 of a cent to close at 4.87 US cents with an exchange of 9,490 stock units.
