Trading picked up on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Friday with a 35 percent jump in the volume of stocks traded valued 17 percent more than on Thursday after 45 securities changed hands compared with 43 on Thursday, ending with 17 rising, 22 declining and 6 closing unchanged.
A total of 12,468,915 shares were exchanged for $30,380,321 compared with 9,243,451 units at $25,870,454 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 277,087 shares at $675,118 compared to 214,964 units at $601,638 on Thursday with the month to date averaging 214,527 shares at $544,555 compared to 183,247 stock units at $479,277 on the previous day. February closed with an average of 318,024 units at $782,332.
Derrimon Trading led market activity with 7.9 million shares for 63.4 percent of total volume followed by Dolla Financial with 1.15 million units for 9.2 percent of the day’s trade and Regency Petroleum with 842,292 units for 6.8 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index gained 15.76 points to end at 3,892.56.

Stocks inched higher at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 13 percent with a modestly lower value than on Thursday resulting in an exchange of 20 securities trading up from 17 on Thursday, with prices of seven rising, five declining and eight remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged 696,764 shares for $3,294,068 versus 617,050 stock units at $3,522,623 on Thursday.
An average of 34,838 shares were exchanged at $164,703 compared with 36,297 shares at $207,213 on Thursday, with trading month to date averaging 44,405 shares at $237,363 versus 49,071 units at $272,806 on the previous day. The average trade for February amounts to 51,996 shares at $458,520.
The Composite Index popped 3.88 points to 1,327.09, the All T&T Index dipped 3.80 points to 1,992.56, the SME Index remained at 61.52 and the Cross-Listed Index rallied 1.69 points to settle at 86.08.

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market ended on Thursday, with the volume of stocks changing hands rising 13 percent with the value 9 percent less than on Wednesday, resulting from trading in eight securities compared to seven on Wednesday with three rising, two declining and three ending unchanged.
Overall, 52,300 shares were traded for US$40,981 compared with 46,332 units at US$44,807 on Wednesday.
Trading on Thursday averaged 6,538 shares at US$5,123 compared to 6,619 units at US$6,401 on Wednesday, with a month to date average of 6,575 shares at US$5,719. Trading in February averaged 43,793 units for US$2,015.
The JSE USD Equities Index lost 1.45 points to end at 231.11.

Trading ended on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 56 percent with the value being 54 percent lower than on Wednesday and ended with trading in 17 securities compared with 24 on Wednesday, with four stocks rising, three declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
