The Main Market on the Jamaica Stock Exchange bounced back sharply on Wednesday thus reversing the big decline on Tuesday accompanied by a 75percent rise in the volume of stocks traded after a 291 percent surge in the value than on Tuesday, from trading in 55 securities compared to 46 on Tuesday and resulting in a substantial number of 39 prices rising, and just eight declining and eight ending unchanged.
Investors traded 9,955,147 shares valued at $296,663,488 compared with 5,681,384 units at $75,914,996 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 181,003 units at $5,393,882 compared to 123,508 shares at $1,650,326 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 202,406 units at $1,736,565 against 203,452 units at $1,557,922 on the previous day. October ended with an average of 231,243 units at $1,464,224.
Seprod led trading with 1.77 million shares for 17.7 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 1.60 million units for 16.1 percent of the day’s trade, Sagicor Group with 1.22 million units for 12.3 percent market share and Stanley Motta with 1.0 million units for 10.1 percent market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index popped 8,544.44 points to 384,847.77, the JSE Main Index advanced 6,416.85 points to 338,794.51 and the JSE Financial Index climbed 1.84 points to 80.84.

JMMB Group advanced $1.50 to close at $33 in switching ownership of 40,583 shares, Kingston Properties popped $1 to end at $7.90 with a transfer of 299,908 stock units, Kingston Wharves gained $1.59 to end at $35, with investors exchanging 421,611 stocks. Margaritaville climbed $4.29 to $20.51 with one unit changing hands, Mayberry Jamaican Equities dropped $1 to finish at $12.50 with the swapping of 29,336 stock units, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy popped $5 to $83 after a transfer of 731 shares. NCB Financial lost $1.50 to end at $83.50 in trading 48,621 stock units, Portland JSX gained $1.50 in closing at $10.50 in exchanging 182 units, Proven Investments shed $1.38 to $26.22 with the swapping of 6,563 stocks. Sagicor Group rose $5.10 to $54.10 trading 1,221,619 shares, Scotia Group climbed $1.70 to $34.20 with 65,373 stock units clearing the market, Seprod rallied $3.50 to $70.50 in exchanging 1,766,351 shares. Stanley Motta gained 98 cents in closing at $5.45 with 1,001,953 units changing hands, Supreme Ventures rose 76 cents to end at $24.97 as investors switched ownership of 44,665 stocks, Victoria Mutual Investments rallied 80 cents to $3.80 in an exchange of 114,134 stocks and Wisynco Group gained 41 cents to settle at $18.41 with a transfer of 737,192 units.
In the preference segment, 138 Student Living preference share gained $6 in closing at $51 after an exchange of 4,224 stock units and Productive Business Solutions 9.75% preference share advanced $8.10 to $130 with investors transferring seven shares.

Rising stocks dominate JSE USD Market
The volume and value of stocks trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market dropped sharply on Wednesday, with the volume dropping 20 percent after 73 percent less funds passed through the market compared to Tuesday, resulting in eight securities changing hands, compared to six on Tuesday with prices of four rising, two declining and two ending unchanged.
Overall, 834,596 shares were traded for US$15,756 from 1,042,094 units at US$58,208 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 104,325 units at US$1,969, versus 173,682 shares at US$9,701 on Tuesday, with the month to date average of 33,913 shares at US$3,363 against 30,414 units at US$3,432 on the previous day. October ended with an average of 40,972 shares for US$2,277.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index gained 5.92 points to end at 228.05.

Big month end rally for Jamaican stocks
Much more funds were pumped into the Jamaica stock market on Wednesday and gave the market and big push to close out the month and the Main Market clawed back all of Tuesday’s losses and more while the Junior Market surged sharply to almost claim back the 4,000 points mark. At the close of trading, the Combined Market Index jumped a solid 6,781.17 points to 352,556.17 after the volume and value of stocks trading jumped sharply over Tuesday’s levels.
The JSE Main Index climbed 6,416.85 points to 338,794.51 while the All Jamaica Composite Index jumped 8,544.44 points to end at 384,847.77, the Junior Market leapt 86.79 points to 3,978.95 and the JSE US dollar market popped 5.92 points to 228.05.
Trading ended, with 29,626,392 shares changing hands, for a mere $357.57 million, versus $88.1 million, with 11,230,305 shares traded in all markets on the previous day. The JSE USD market ended with the value of stocks traded amounting to US$15,756 from US$58,208 on Tuesday.
The market’s PE ratio ended at 23.1 based on 2021-22 earnings and 12.9 times those for 2022-23 at the close of trading.

Dip in trading on the Trinidad Exchange
Market activity fell on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, resulting in more stocks declining than rising after the volume of stocks traded dropped 70 percent with 24 percent lower value than on Tuesday and resulting in an exchange of 18 securities compared with 21 on Tuesday, with the price of one rising, five declining and 12 remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged just 126,288 shares for $2,365,917 down from 427,294 stock units at $3,122,309 on Tuesday. An average of 7,016 units were traded at $131,440 compared to 20,347 shares at $148,681 on Tuesday. Trading for the month to date averaged 51,348 shares at $461,778 versus 53,426 units at $477,266 on the previous day. The average trade for October amounts to 29,755 at $358,068.
The Composite Index fell 5.94 points to 1,304.52, the All T&T Index inched 0.24 points higher to 1,962.37 and the Cross-Listed Index dipped 1.76 points to 84.06.

FirstCaribbean International Bank lost 29 cents to close at $5.11 after an exchange of 2,980 shares, Guardian Holdings ended at $25.81 after trading of 7,423 stocks, JMMB Group shed 9 cents in closing at $1.81, with 47,851 stocks crossing the exchange. Massy Holdings ended at $4.65 with the swapping of 148 units, National Flour Mills dipped 9 cents to close at $1.50 as 23,254 shares passed through the market, NCB Financial remained at $4.56 after a transfer of 357 stock units. Point Lisas ended at $3.25 as investors exchanged six shares, Prestige Holdings remained at $6.25 after switching ownership of 1,039 units, Republic Financial ended at $139, with 111 stocks crossing the market. Scotiabank ended at $77 with 778 stock units changing hands, Trinidad & Tobago NGL dipped 1 cent to end at $21.24 after exchanging 193 units and Unilever Caribbean increased 62 cents to close at $13.80, with 1,300 stock units crossing the market.

The Lagoon townhouses Cayman
The Lagoon townhouse complex in the Cayman Islands, a joint venture development between Proven REIT Limited and Infinity Capital Partners, is slated for completion and delivery of units in early 2023, a spoke person for Infinity Capital Partners advised ICIsider.com.
The complex comprises 13 residential units comprising nine two-bedroom and four three bedrooms townhouses in Georgetown, the capital of the country are all sold.
The units were priced at CI$520,000 for the two-bedroom units and $675,000 for the three-bedroom units. That amounts to US$624,000 and US$810,000. Converted to Jamaica dollar, put prices at JS$960,000 and J$1.247 million. The unit sizes range up to around 1,600 square feet for the three-bedroom units and slightly less for the two-bedroom units.
Trading jumps on JSE USD market
Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market ended on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks exchanged rising 483 percent, with the value surging 1,046 percent more than Monday’s levels, resulting in six securities trading, compared to eight on Monday with three rising, one declining and two ending unchanged.
A total of 1,042,094 shares were traded for US$58,208 up sharply from 178,840 units at US$5,077 on Monday.
Trading averaged 173,682 shares at US$9,701 versus 22,355 units at a mere US$635 on Monday, with a month to date average of 30,414 shares at US$3,432 compared with 24,869 units at US$3,190 on the previous day. October ended with an average of 40,972 units for US$2,277.

The JSE Main Index dived 4,914.99 points to 332,377.66 while the All Jamaica Composite Index plunged 6,421.71 points to 376,303.33, the Junior Market jumped 40.33 points to 3,892.15 and the JSE US dollar market slipped 1.78 points to 222.13.
Trading ended, with 11,230,305 shares changing hands, for a mere $88.1 million, versus $136.97 million, with 18,030,693 shares traded in all markets on the previous day. The JSE USD market ended with the value of stocks traded amounting to US$58,208 from US$5,077 on Monday.
The market’s PE ratio ended at 22.7 based on 2021-22 earnings and 12.7 times those for 2022-23 at the close of trading.
