Trading plunged on TTSE

The volume of stocks trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange plunged on Thursday by 71 percent compared to Wednesday as the number of securities trading fell by nearly a half leading to a 56 percent decline in the value changing hands.
The market closed with nine securities trading, down from sixteen on Wednesday, and ended with two stocks advancing, three declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 129,140 shares for $2,841,182 compared to 444,318 shares valued $6,527,739 on Wednesday.
The average trade amounts to 14,349 units at $315,687 versus an average of 27,770 units at $407,984 for each security on Wednesday. Month to date averaged 16,334 shares at $305,410 compared to 16,972 units at $302,107 on Wednesday. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index lost 031 points to close at 1,296.30, the All T&T Index shed 0.62 points to 1,728.39, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 116.85.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Guardian Holdings rose 60 cents to close at $21, exchanging 36,448 shares and West Indian Tobacco gained 28 cents to end at $33.50, after trading 52,205 shares.
Stocks declining│Calypso Macro Index Fund lost 5 cents exchanging 500 units to settle at $14, National Enterprises finished 20 cents lower at a 52 weeks’ low of $3, in trading 7,000 stock units and Republic Financial Holdings was down 2 cents in closing at $133.01, after transferring 265 units.

Increased trading on TTSE on Wednesday

Trading activity rose sharply over Tuesday’s levels with an exchange of 14 times more shares with a 238 percent rise in value as the market indices rose at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Wednesday.
A total of 16 securities traded, up from twelve on Tuesday, and ended with four stocks advancing, two declining and ten remaining unchanged, after 444,318 shares changed hands for $6,527,739 compared to 30,910 shares at 1,931,247 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 27,770 units at $407,984 versus an average of 2,576 units at $160,937 on Tuesday. Month to date averaged 16,972 shares at $302,107. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index rose 2.79 points to 1,296.61, the All T&T Index advanced by 5.14 points to 1,729.01, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.05 points to close at 116.85.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than their last selling prices and one with lower offers.

Modest start to new month for TTSE

Trading activity chilled a bit on the with an exchange of only 12 securities, down from nineteen on Monday as the market enters the final month of the year for the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, resulting in an exchange of 96 percent fewer shares, with the value falling 90 percent below Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 2,576 units at $160,937 versus an average of 37,205 units at $1,016,053 for each security on Monday, compared to November with an average of 12,529 units at $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.33 points to 1,293.82, the All T&T Index fell 1.46 points to 1,723.87, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.11 points to close at 116.80.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.

Investors pushed the prices of the majority of stocks higher on the final day of the month and driving the Market indices upward on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange after an exchange of 267 percent more shares and a 575 percent increase in the value of stocks trading compared to Friday.

The market closed with 19 securities trading, up from fifteen on Friday, and ended with ten stocks advancing, two declining and seven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 707,901 shares for $19,305,014 compared to 192,797 shares valued 2,859,811 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 37,229 units at $1,016,053 versus an average of 12,853 units at $190,654 for each security on Friday. Month to date averaged 12,529 shares at $181,770 compared to 10,981 units at $129,455 on Friday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.

Just one stock rose at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, but 12 declined, sending the major market indices into a slide with Ansa Merchant Bank and Republic Financial Holdings suffered multi-dollar declines.

Trading resulted in 38 percent fewer shares than on Monday with values climbing 151 percent as 236,245 shares costing $3,864,740 changed hands compared to 382,748 shares valued $1,536,873, on Monday.
Trading averaged 11,812 units at $193,237 versus an average of 27,339 units at $109,777 for each security on Monday. For the month to date, trading averaged 10,403 shares at $136,252 compared to 10,286 units at $131,483 on Monday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index dropped 8.23 points to 1,275.87, the All T&T Index plunged 18.15 points to 1,698.75, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.25 points to close at 115.34.

More than 75 percent of the securities traded held their price for a second day at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday as the main indices dipped, after an exchange of 149 percent more shares, at a 45 percent greater value than Wednesday.
The market closed with 13 securities trading, down from fifteen on Wednesday, and ended with two stocks advancing, one declining and ten remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 206,882 shares for $1,738,641 compared to 82,960 shares valued $1,200,746 on Wednesday.
The average trade amounted to 15,914 units at $133,742 versus an average of 5,531 units at $80,050 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 8.936 shares at $125,534 compared to 8,483 units at $125,000 on Wednesday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.

All primary indices experienced a sizable fall at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday after a 271 percent rise in the number of shares exchanged, with a 618 percent rise in value over Friday as Clico Investments contributed half of the market’s volume and 40 percent of the value.
The market closed with 16 securities trading, up from fifteen on Friday, and ended with six stocks advancing, six declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 171,072 shares for $3,576,359 compared to 46,072 shares valued $498,067 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 10,692 units at $223,522 versus an average of 3,071 units at $33,204 for each security on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade ended at 7,800 shares at $118,570 compared to 7,500 units at $107,666 on Friday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.

The majority of stocks trading remained unchanged on Thursday close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, but stocks gaining outpaced those declining after a 49 percent fall in the volume of shares traded with 78 percent lower value than Wednesday.

One Caribbean Media held firm at $4.85, with a transfer of 90 units, Prestige Holdings exchanged 20 units at $7.25, Scotiabank held firm at $54.35, with 277 units changing hands. Trinidad Cement ended at $2.06, transferring 4,063 stock units and Unilever Caribbean closed at 16.80, with an exchange of 100 units.

TTSE falters again

The primary indices fell for a second consecutive day in trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday. The number of shares exchanged, led by volume leader Clico Investments, was 35 percent higher than Tuesday with values climbing 345 percent.
The market closed with 14 securities trading, up from 20 on Tuesday, and closed with five stocks advancing, seven declining and two remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 177,082 shares for $4,263,329 compared to 101,236 shares valued $958,604 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 12,649 units at $304,524 versus an average of 5,062 units at $47,930 for each security on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 8,491 shares at $126,214 compared to 7,942 units at $102,663 on Tuesday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index shed 2.91 points to 1,292.99, the All T&T Index declined by 7.08 points to 1,730.88, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.18 points to close at 115.59.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than the last selling prices and one with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ First Citizens Bank gained 1 cent trading 5,996 stock units to settle at $43.50, Grace Kennedy rose 5 cents to $3.65, in exchanging 1,667 units, Guardian Holdings closed at $20.15, with gains of 5 cents in transferring 51,842 shares. Massy Holdings ended 60 cents higher at $58, with 1,726 units changing hands and Trinidad Cement picked up 1 cent to finish at $2.06, in trading 2,750 units.
Stocks declining│ Ansa McAL declined by $3.99 to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $45, in an exchange of 465 units, Clico Investments shed 2 cents after trading 99,676 shares to finish at $25, First Caribbean International Bank lost 1 cent transferring 5,996 stock units to end at $7.04. Republic Financial Holdings shed 9 cents to settle at $140.90 trading 150 units, Trinidad and Tobago NGL ended at $14.61, with a loss of 14 cents exchanging 2,872 units, Unilever Caribbean closed 20 cents lower at $16.80, in transferring 3,360 stock units and West Indian Tobacco settled at $33.42, after losing 1 cent and trading 2,991 units.
Stocks trading firm│One Caribbean Media transferred 320 units at $4.85 and Scotiabank held firm at $54.35 exchanging 1,932 units.
