Trading activity rose sharply over Tuesday’s levels with an exchange of 14 times more shares with a 238 percent rise in value as the market indices rose at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Wednesday.
A total of 16 securities traded, up from twelve on Tuesday, and ended with four stocks advancing, two declining and ten remaining unchanged, after 444,318 shares changed hands for $6,527,739 compared to 30,910 shares at 1,931,247 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 27,770 units at $407,984 versus an average of 2,576 units at $160,937 on Tuesday. Month to date averaged 16,972 shares at $302,107. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index rose 2.79 points to 1,296.61, the All T&T Index advanced by 5.14 points to 1,729.01, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.05 points to close at 116.85.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than their last selling prices and one with lower offers.
Stocks rising| Calypso Macro Index Fund gained 5 cents to close at $14.05, with an exchange of 4,000 shares, Clico Investment Fund rose 16 cents to $25.50, in trading 43,667 units, Scotiabank advanced $1.49 to $55.49, after 20,750 stock units crossed the market and Trinidad and Tobago NGL ended 80 cents higher at $15.05, with a transfer of 53,095 shares.
Stocks declining|Angostura Holdings lost 5 cents trading 705 units at $16.40 and National Enterprises shed 19 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $3.20, after an exchange of 38,560 shares.
Stocks trading firm│ Ansa Merchant Bank closed at $39.50 in exchanging 133 units, First Caribbean International Bank held firm at $7.05 trading 6,120 shares, First Citizens Bank transferred 25,445 stock units at $44 each. Grace Kennedy held firm at $3.70, with 2,130 units crossing the exchange, Guardian Holdings exchanged 75,160 shares at $20.40, JMMB Group traded 170,511 shares at $1.80. Republic Financial Holdings ended at $133.03, with a transfer of 1,375 units, Trinidad Cement closed at $2.11, in an exchange of 85 units, Unilever Caribbean traded 300 units at $16.70 and West Indian Tobacco closed at $33.22, with 2,282 units changing hands.
