Strong November close for TTSE

Investors pushed the prices of the majority of stocks higher on the final day of the month and driving the Market indices upward on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange after an exchange of 267 percent more shares and a 575 percent increase in the value of stocks trading compared to Friday.

The market closed with 19 securities trading, up from fifteen on Friday, and ended with ten stocks advancing, two declining and seven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 707,901 shares for $19,305,014 compared to 192,797 shares valued 2,859,811 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 37,229 units at $1,016,053 versus an average of 12,853 units at $190,654 for each security on Friday. Month to date averaged 12,529 shares at $181,770 compared to 10,981 units at $129,455 on Friday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 7.43 points to 1,294.15, the All T&T Index climbed 10.94 points to 1,725.33, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.53 points to close at 116.89.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Ansa McAL ended 50 cents higher at $52, in trading 227,540 shares, Clico Investments rose to $25.34, with gains of 34 cents exchanging 72,057 shares, First Citizens Bank added 50 cents to close at $44, in transferring 25,190 stock units. Massy Holdings climbed $2 to $59, with 1,725 units changing hands, NCB Financial Group gained 10 cents to finish at $8.10, after 42 units crossed the market, National Flour picked up 14 cents to settle at $2, with an exchange of 64,372 shares. Point Lisas ended at $3.12, after gaining 12 cents and trading 2,000 units, Scotiabank rose $1 to $55, after transferring 20,327 stock units, Trinidad and Tobago NGL advanced by $1.38 to $15.88, with 77,461 shares changing hands and West Indian Tobacco closed 72 cents higher at $33.22, in trading 42,543 shares.
Stocks declining│ Agostini’s lost 1 cent, transferring 15,000 stock units to finish at $24.49 and JMMB Group closed 5 cents lower at $1.77, with 150,000 shares crossing the exchange.
Stocks trading firm│ Ansa Merchant Bank traded 944 units at $39.50, CinemaOne transferred 40 units at $4, First Caribbean International Bank exchanged 870 units at $7.05. Guardian Holdings closed at $20.40, with a transfer of 2,085 units, Grace Kennedy ended at $3.70, with 1,595 units changing hands, One Caribbean Media transferred 3,000 units at $4.80 and Unilever Caribbean held firm at $16.70 trading 150 units.
