Declining TTSE stocks dominate market

Stock prices tumbled on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the market declining after investors traded 183 percent more shares than on Wednesday after the market closed for the public holiday on Thursday.

The market closed with eighteen securities trading with only one advancing, nine declining and eight unchanged.  Trading resulted in 151,140 shares changing hands valued at $2,448,131 compared to 53,461 shares for $2,171,697 from 13 securities on Wednesday.
The average trade on Friday amounts to 8,397 units at $136,007 versus an average of 4,112 stock units for $167,054 for each security on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 10,356 units at $135,151 compared to 10,508 units at $135,085 on Wednesday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 2.89 points to 1,314.26, the All T&T Index shed 1.95 points to 1,792.90, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.52 points to close at 112.84.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
Stocks rising One Caribbean Media climbed 14 cents to end at $5.20 trading 1,400 units.
Stocks declining Agostini’s fell to a 52 weeks’ low of $23.50, with a loss of $1 in exchanging 850 units, Angostura Holdings lost 1 cent transferring 1,277 units to settle at $16.99, First Citizens Bank shed 29 cents to close at $46.20, with 7,772 stock units crossing the market.  JMMB Group lost 8 cents trading 9,509 stock units to end at $1.70, Massy Holdings slid 94 cents to $58.06 in a transfer of 165 units, NCB Financial Group lost 2 cents to close at $7.68, with 1,448 units changing hands. National Enterprises slipped 1 cent to $4 after transferring 38,285 shares, Trinidad and Tobago NGL finished at $16, with a loss of 1 cent trading 49,574 shares and West Indian Tobacco shed 15 cents to settle at $36, in exchanging 8,395 stock units.
Stocks trading firmAnsa McAL ended at $53 with trades of 650 units, Clico Investments exchanged 20,040 shares at $25.50, Guardian Holdings transferred 5,572 stock units at $19.30. Guardian Media held firm at $5, trading 2,000 units, National Flour remained at $1.83, with 2,400 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings traded 300 units at $142.02. Scotiabank closed at $54.80 in transferring 1,000 units and Trinidad Cement exchanged 503 units at $2.05.

Prices mostly up on T&T Stock Exchange

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange closed trading on Monday mixed after 71 percent fewer shares valued 52 percent lower than on Friday, changed hands and resulting in more stocks rising than falling. 
The market closed with twelve securities trading with the prices of five stocks advancing, three declining and the prices of four remaining unchanged.  Market activity resulted in just 41,196 shares valued at $701,796, passing through the exchange compared to 142,979 shares for $1,460,607 on Friday from 16 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 3,433 units at $58,483 versus an average of 8,936 stock units for $91,288 for each security. The average trade of 10,380 units at $134,431 for the month to date compares to 10,804 units at $139,058 on Friday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index climbed 3.67 points to 1,322.03, The All T&T Index fell by 1.54 points to 1,799.97, while the Cross Listed Index gained 1.22 points to close at 113.99.

JMMB Group closed at $1.88, after gaining 10 cents in transferring 4,500 shares and National Flour gained 2 cents to settle at $1.82, with an exchange of 600 units.

The average trade on Thursday amounted to 4,371 units at $82,463 versus an average of 11,194 stock units for $190,608 for each security. The average trade of 10,969 units at $143,280 for the months to date compares to 11,395 units at $147,215 on Wednesday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 3.07 points to 1,323.95, The All T&T Index climbed 8.07 points to 1,796.86, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.27 to close at 114.95.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Wednesday, with the market declining after investors swapped 42 percent more shares than on Tuesday, resulting in declining stocks outnumbering rising ones two to one.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with four stocks advancing, eight declining and five unchanged.  Trading resulted in 190,298 shares passing through the market valued at $3,240,340 compared to 134,360 shares for $3,706,470 on Tuesday from 12 securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 11,194 units at $190,608 versus an average of 11,197 stock units for $308,872 for each security.  For the months to date, the average trade amounted to 11,395 units at $147,215 compared to 11,418 shares at $142,394 on Tuesday. In contrast, August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index dropped 4.27 points to 1,320.88. The All T&T Index tumbled 8.69 points to 1,788.79, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 to close at 115.22.

The volume of stocks trading Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday dipped 12 percent below Thursday’s level with 10 percent more value, leaving the market to end mixed for the day and slightly up for the week.

The increased volume and value of stocks trading on Friday flowed from two fewer securities than Thursday, with thirteen securities trading on Friday.  Trading ended, with two stocks advancing, three declining and eight remaining unchanged.
An average of 17,873 shares traded on Friday at $440,068. in contrast, an average of 4,652 at $104,117 changed hands on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade was 12,712 units at $166,390versus 12,503 units at $155,307, up to Thursday.
The T&T Composite Index shed 2.32 points to end at 1,315.44, the All T&T Index dropped 4.60 points to 1,777.92, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 115.25.
