TTSE stocks move higher

Stocks closed higher on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday with a four to one ratio and ended with an exchange of 65 percent fewer shares at 72 percent less value than on Friday.
The market closed with nine securities trading, a drop from fifteen on Friday, and closed with four stocks advancing, one declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 44,369 shares for $653,487 compared to 127,998 shares valued $2,370,997 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 4,930 units at $72,610 versus an average of 8,533 units at $158,066 for each security on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 8,612 shares at $107,793 compared to 9,042 units at $120,392 on Friday. Some recovery for TTSE

The primary indices bounced back on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday. At the same time, the number of stocks exchanged dropped 83 percent compared to Wednesday, with a 38 percent fall in values as the number of declining stocks fell to just Five from eleven on Wednesday.
The market closed with 16 securities trading, down from nineteen on Wednesday, closing with three stocks advancing, five declining and eight remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 52,879 shares for $1,798,639 compared to 318,046 shares valued $2,909,437 on Wednesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 3,305 units at $112,415 versus an average of 16,739 units at $153,128 for each security on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 9,165 shares at $111,278 compared to 11,204 units at $110,882 on Wednesday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index climbed 3.46 points to 1,300.43, the All T&T Index advanced 6.48 points to 1,744.87, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.05 points to close at 115.70.

Avalanche of falling TTSE stock prices

Falling prices hit the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday resulted in more than half of the stocks traded declining and sending the primary indices sharply down from the close on Tuesday.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 4.94 points to 1,296.97, the All T&T Index dived 14.16 points to 1,738.39, the Cross Listed Index gained 0.50 points to close at 115.65 after 19 securities trading, up from sixteen on Tuesday, and closed with three stocks advancing, eleven declining and five remaining unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 136 percent more shares at an increased value of 117 percent above Tuesday trades. Market activity resulted in 318,046 shares for $2,909,437 changing hands compared to 134,538 shares valued $1,341,715 on Tuesday.
The day’s average trade is 16,739 units at $153,128 versus an average of 8,408 units at $83,857 for each security on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade ended at 11,204 shares at $110,882 compared to 7,309 units at $81,154 on Tuesday. October closed with an average of 16,922 units for $285,061.

Trinidad stocks fall in October

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange lost ground on Friday and ending October with a loss of 6.13 for the year to date compared to a 3.98 percent loss at the start of the month as the market retreated for most of the month.
The market closed with 15 securities trading, up from 16 on Thursday, ended with three stocks advancing, six declining and six remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 169 percent more shares changing hands valued 215 percent more than on Thursday, as 602,518 shares were exchanged at $10,526,304 compared to 224,300 shares valued at $3,339,437 on Thursday as Guardian Holdings and Unilever Caribbean were the volume leaders for the day.
The average trade for the day amounted to 40,168 units at $701,754 versus an average of 14,019 units at $208,715 for each security on Thursday. For October to date, the average trade amounts to 16,922  shares at $285,061  compared to 15,616 units at $261,652 on Thursday. Trading activities continue to remain soft on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resulted in an exchange of 81 percent fewer shares and an 85 percent fall in value on Wednesday compared to Tuesday, with the primary indices declining.
The market closed with 13 securities trading, up from twelve on Tuesday, and closed with one stock advancing, four declining and eight remaining unchanged. Trading ended, with 98,120 shares for $2,086,202 changing hands, compared to 505,169 shares valued $13,850,155 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 7,548 units at $160,477 versus an average of 42,097 units at $1,154,180 for each security on Tuesday. The average trade for October to date is 15,718 shares at $265.026 compared to 16,164 units at $270,737 on Tuesday and is much higher than, September’s average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 5.78 points to 1,303.24, to be down 11.2 percent for the year to date. The All T&T Index is down 20 percent for the year to date after dropping 6.94 points on Wednesday to 1,751.77, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.63 points to close at 115.52.

Volumes remained low on Monday but picked up from Friday’s levels with an exchange of 21 percent more shares traded after the overall volume on Friday plunged 91 from Thursday level on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Trading resulted in 59,653 shares for $587,579 compared to 49,373 shares for $239,933 on Friday. The market closed on Monday with 15 securities changing hands compared with just seven on Friday, resulting in four stocks advancing, four declining and only seven remaining unchanged.
The average trade for the day amounted to 3,877 units at $39,172 versus an average of 7,053 units at $34,276 for each security on Friday. West Indian Tobacco price rose 11 percent on Monday in recovering the loss suffered on Friday on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and helped in moving the market higher after more stocks rose than declined.
Trading closed with an exchange of 16 percent fewer shares, with the value of stocks changing hands dropping 37 percent compared to Friday. The market ended with twelve securities trading, down from ten on Friday, and closed with four stocks advancing, three declining and five remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in an exchange of 57,704 shares for $1,530,562 compared to 68,422 shares valued $2,428,494 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 4,809 units at $127,547 versus an average of 6,842 units at $242,849 for each security on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 15,008 shares at $276,057 compared to 15,818 units at $287,860 on Friday.
