Trinidadian stocks drift lower

The main indices fell for a second consecutive day, Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday after 68 percent more shares were exchanged over Monday, with Clico Investments, the volume leader, accounting for 73 percent of the market’s value.
The market closed with 15 securities trading, up from sixteen on Monday, and ended with four stocks advancing, four declining and seven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 287,597 shares for $3,642,409 compared to 171,072 shares valued $3,576,359 on Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 19,173 units at $242,827 versus an average of 10,692 units at $223,522 for each security on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 8.722 shares at $128,645 compared to 7,800 units at $118,570 on Monday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.16 points to 1,288.79, the All T&T Index dropped 3.30 points to 1,725.53, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.14 points to close at 115.18.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than their last selling prices and one with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Clico Investments added 5 cents to close at $25.15, in exchanging 105,960 shares, NCB Financial Group gained 5 cents trading to end at $7.95, with 27,400 shares crossing the market, Prestige Holdings finished at $7.30, after gaining 5 cents in transferring 704 units and Scotiabank added 30 cents to settle at $54.35, with 697 units changing hands.
Stocks declining│ Angostura Holdings shed 30 cents trading 120 units to close at $16, Grace Kennedy ended at $3.60, with a loss of 5 cents transferring 72,309 shares, Point Lisas slipped 15 cents to $3, with 25,000 shares changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 35 cents to close at $14.65, after exchanging 1,136 stock units.

More points dropped by Trinidad stocks

All primary indices experienced a sizable fall at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday after a 271 percent rise in the number of shares exchanged, with a 618 percent rise in value over Friday as Clico Investments contributed half of the market’s volume and 40 percent of the value.
The market closed with 16 securities trading, up from fifteen on Friday, and ended with six stocks advancing, six declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 171,072 shares for $3,576,359 compared to 46,072 shares valued $498,067 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 10,692 units at $223,522 versus an average of 3,071 units at $33,204 for each security on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade ended at 7,800 shares at $118,570 compared to 7,500 units at $107,666 on Friday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index declined 8.30 points to 1,289.95. The All T&T Index tumbled 12.29 points to 1,728.83, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.58 points to close at 115.04.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with three stocks’ bids closing higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.

Scotiabank gained 5 cents to finish at $54.05, with 24 units crossing the market, Trinidad and Tobago NGL settled at $15 after picking up 35 cents and exchanging 15,751 stock units and West Indian Tobacco closed with gains of 2 cents after transferring 3,259 units to settle at $33.44.
Stocks declining│ Ansa McAL shed 50 cents to close at $48.50, trading 2,021 units, Massy Holdings dropped 37 cents to $57, after exchanging 55 units, NCB Financial Group lost 9 cents trading 450 units to finish at $7.90. National Enterprises declined 45 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $3.40, in trading 100 units, Republic Financial Holdings dropped $1 to end at $139, with 370 units changing hands and Trinidad Cement closed 10 cents lower at $2.10, in trading 2,862 units.

The market closed with 15 securities trading, up from nineteen on Thursday, and ended with one stock advancing, six declining, including two closing at a 52 weeks’ low and eight remaining unchanged. The majority of stocks trading remained unchanged on Thursday close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, but stocks gaining outpaced those declining after a 49 percent fall in the volume of shares traded with 78 percent lower value than Wednesday.

The average trade amounted to 4,733 units at $49,308 versus an average of 12,649 units at $304,524 for each security on Wednesday. The market closed with 14 securities trading, up from 20 on Tuesday, and closed with five stocks advancing, seven declining and two remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 177,082 shares for $4,263,329 compared to 101,236 shares valued $958,604 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 12,649 units at $304,524 versus an average of 5,062 units at $47,930 for each security on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 8,491 shares at $126,214 compared to 7,942 units at $102,663 on Tuesday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.

Big fall for T&T stocks

All indices fell sharply in trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, ending with an exchange of 128 percent more shares and a 47 percent increase in values compared to Monday’s trading.
The number of securities trading surged to 20, from just nine on Monday, and closed with two stocks advancing, seven declining and eleven remaining unchanged. The T&T Composite Index declined by 6.22 points to 1,295.90, the All T&T Index dropped 10.47 points to 1,737.96, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.26 points to close at 115.41.
Trading resulted in 101,236 shares for $958,604 compared to 44,369 shares valued $653,487 on Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 5,062 units at $47,930 versus an average of 4,930 units at $72,610 for each security on Monday. Avalanche of falling TTSE stock prices

Falling prices hit the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday resulted in more than half of the stocks traded declining and sending the primary indices sharply down from the close on Tuesday.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 4.94 points to 1,296.97, the All T&T Index dived 14.16 points to 1,738.39, the Cross Listed Index gained 0.50 points to close at 115.65 after 19 securities trading, up from sixteen on Tuesday, and closed with three stocks advancing, eleven declining and five remaining unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 136 percent more shares at an increased value of 117 percent above Tuesday trades. Market activity resulted in 318,046 shares for $2,909,437 changing hands compared to 134,538 shares valued $1,341,715 on Tuesday.
The day’s average trade is 16,739 units at $153,128 versus an average of 8,408 units at $83,857 for each security on Tuesday. Stocks rising│ First Caribbean International gained 1 cent to close at $7.05 trading 5,000 shares, NCB Financial Group gained 12 cents and finished at $8, with an exchange of 40 stock units and Scotiabank ended 10 cents higher at $54.40, in transferring 5,000 units.
Stocks declining│ Ansa McAL lost $1 and ended at $49, after exchanging 500 units, CinemaOne lost 40 cents trading 160 units to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $4, Clico Investments shed 24 cents to settle at $25.01, with 51,020 shares changing hands. First Citizens Bank fell $2 to $41.50, with 4,870 stock units crossing the exchange, Grace Kennedy finished 10 cents lower at $3.60, in trading 267 units, Guardian Holdings lost 10 cents to close at $20, exchanging 9,084 stock units. Guardian Media shed 50 cents, ending at a 52 weeks’ low of $4.45 with 3,744 units changing hands, JMMB Group finished at $1.73 after losing 6 cents, transferring 161,500 shares. One Caribbean Media lost 5 cents trading 10,000 stock units to settle at $4.80. Republic Financial Holdings ended at $141.30, with a loss of 20 cents, exchanging 78 units and Trinidad Cement lost 5 cents to close at $2.05, with a transfer of 550 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Massy Holdings remained at $57.50, in trading 5,000 stock units, National Flour closed at $2 exchanging 49,028 shares, Prestige Holdings transferred 3,566 units at $7. Trinidad and Tobago NGL held firm at $15, with 8,590 stock units changing hands and West Indian Tobacco traded 209 units at $33.45.

Volume up TTSE index drops

Trading activity surged on Tuesday with the volume of stocks rising 113 percent above Monday’s level with an increase of 58 percent in value on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange compared to Monday, with all the market indices declining.

The market closed with 16 securities trading, up from 11 on Monday, and closed with five stocks advancing, four declining and seven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 134,538 shares for $1,341,715 compared to 62,793 shares valued $849,435 on Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 8,409 units at $83,857 versus an average of 5,708 units at $77,221 for each security on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 7,309 shares at $81,154 compared. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index dropped 2.92 points to 1,301.91, the All T&T Index declined by 2.17 points to 1,752.55, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.50 points to close at 115.05.

Stocks rising│Clico Investments closed at $25.25, with gains of 5 cents exchanging 4,750 stock units, Grace Kennedy rose 10 cents to end at $3.70, in trading 40,321 shares, JMMB gained 4 cents transferring 3,050 units to settle at $1.79. National Flour gained 10 cents to close at $2, with 47,461 shares changing hands and West Indian Tobacco picked up one cent in an exchange of 9,772 stock units in closing at $33.45.
Stocks declining│First Citizens Bank fell $1 to $43.50, in trading 2,360 units, L.J Williams B share lost 4 cents to finish at $1.40 exchanging 2,000 units, NCB Financial Group shed 12 cents to close at $7.88, with 450 units crossing the market and Scotiabank declined by $1.19 to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $54.30, after a transfer of 350 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Calypso Macro Index Fund remained at $14 with trades of 1,500 units, First Caribbean International Bank ended at $7.04, in a transfer of 946 units, Guardian Holdings exchanged 3,345 stock units at $20.10. Massy Holdings traded 5,000 stock units at $57.50, One Caribbean Media held firm at $4.85, transferring 6,242 stock units, Republic Financial Holdings closed at $141.50, with 58 units changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL exchanged 6,933 stock units at $15.
