Trading plunged on TTSE

The volume of stocks trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange plunged on Thursday by 71 percent compared to Wednesday as the number of securities trading fell by nearly a half leading to a 56 percent decline in the value changing hands.
The market closed with nine securities trading, down from sixteen on Wednesday, and ended with two stocks advancing, three declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 129,140 shares for $2,841,182 compared to 444,318 shares valued $6,527,739 on Wednesday.
The average trade amounts to 14,349 units at $315,687 versus an average of 27,770 units at $407,984 for each security on Wednesday. Month to date averaged 16,334 shares at $305,410 compared to 16,972 units at $302,107 on Wednesday. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index lost 031 points to close at 1,296.30, the All T&T Index shed 0.62 points to 1,728.39, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 116.85.

Trading activity rose sharply over Tuesday’s levels with an exchange of 14 times more shares with a 238 percent rise in value as the market indices rose at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Wednesday.
A total of 16 securities traded, up from twelve on Tuesday, and ended with four stocks advancing, two declining and ten remaining unchanged, after 444,318 shares changed hands for $6,527,739 compared to 30,910 shares at 1,931,247 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 27,770 units at $407,984 versus an average of 2,576 units at $160,937 on Tuesday. Month to date averaged 16,972 shares at $302,107. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
