TTSE closed mixed on Monday

The volume and value of stocks traded on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday fell 90 percent and 92 percent, respectively, compared to Friday, resulting in mixed movements in the market indices.
The market closed with 11 securities trading, down from fifteen on Friday, and closed with three stocks advancing, four declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 62,793 shares for $849,435 compared to 602,518 shares valued $10,526,304 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 5,708 units at $77,221 versus an average of 40,168 units at $701,754 for each security on Friday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.68 points to 1,304.83, the All T&T Index gained 0.26 points to 1,754.72, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.50 points to close at 115.55.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with bids of four stocks closing higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising│Guardian Holdings added 10 cents to finish at $20.10, in trading 2,192 stock units, Republic Financial Holdings closed 20 cents higher at $141.50, with an exchange of 20 units and Trinidad & Tobago NGL gained 5 cents to end at $15, after a transfer of 82 units.
Stocks declining│Endeavour Holdings shed 1 cent to settle at an all-time low of $12.39, in exchanging 250 units, First Citizens Bank lost 3 cents trading 3,362 stock units to close at $44.50, JMMB Group lost 5 cents and ended at $1.75, with 800 units crossing the exchange and National Enterprises lost 2 cents transferring 10,833 shares at $3.90.

Trinidad stocks fall in October

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange lost ground on Friday and ending October with a loss of 6.13 for the year to date compared to a 3.98 percent loss at the start of the month as the market retreated for most of the month.
The market closed with 15 securities trading, up from 16 on Thursday, ended with three stocks advancing, six declining and six remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 169 percent more shares changing hands valued 215 percent more than on Thursday, as 602,518 shares were exchanged at $10,526,304 compared to 224,300 shares valued at $3,339,437 on Thursday as Guardian Holdings and Unilever Caribbean were the volume leaders for the day.
The average trade for the day amounted to 40,168 units at $701,754 versus an average of 14,019 units at $208,715 for each security on Thursday. For October to date, the average trade amounts to 16,922 shares at $285,061 compared to 15,616 units at $261,652 on Thursday. In contrast, September closed with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index shed 1.30 points to 1,306.51, the All T&T Index declined by 3.60 points to 1,754.46, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.14 points to close at 116.05.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of one stock higher than its last selling price and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Guardian Holdings ended 95 cents higher at $20, trading 317,409 shares, Grace Kennedy gained 5 cents exchanging 346 units to close at $3.60 and One Caribbean Media finished at $4.85, with gains of 5 cents transferring 19,500 stock units.
Stocks declining│Clico Investments lost 5 cents to settle at $25.20, in exchanging 3,100 units, Massy Holdings shed 50 cents to end at $57.50, with a transfer of 58 units, National Flour closed at $1.90, after losing 10 cents trading 32,200 shares. Prestige Holdings ended 49 cents lower at a 52 weeks’ low of $7, with 934 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings settled at $141.30, with a loss of 45 cents transferring 998 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL fell 5 cents to $14.95 after exchanging 26,250 stock units.
Stocks trading firm│ First Citizens Bank traded 5,484 units at $44.53, JMMB Group closed at $1.80, with 33,146 shares crossing the market, NCB Financial Group transferred 12,000 stock units at $8. Stocks move higher on TTSE Thursday

Sixty percent more funds were spent on stocks trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, leading to 129 percent more shares being exchanged than on Wednesday and the number of stocks rising surpassed those declining. Clico Investments accounting for 26 percent of the day’s volume and 45 percent of the value.
The market closed with 16 securities trading, up from thirteen on Wednesday, and closed with seven stocks advancing, four declining and five remaining unchanged, with all three indices rising. Trading resulted in 224,300 shares for $3,339,437 compared to 98,120 shares valued $2,086,202 on Wednesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 14,019 units at $208,715 versus an average of 7,548 units at $160,477 for each security on Wednesday. For October to date, the average trade amounts to 15,616 shares at $261,652 compared to 15,718 units at $265,026 on Wednesday and exceeds September, with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 4.57 points to 1,307.81. The All T&T Index climbed 6.29 points to 1,758.06, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.39 points to close at 115.91.

Trading activities continue to remain soft on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resulted in an exchange of 81 percent fewer shares and an 85 percent fall in value on Wednesday compared to Tuesday, with the primary indices declining.
The market closed with 13 securities trading, up from twelve on Tuesday, and closed with one stock advancing, four declining and eight remaining unchanged. Trading ended, with 98,120 shares for $2,086,202 changing hands, compared to 505,169 shares valued $13,850,155 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 7,548 units at $160,477 versus an average of 42,097 units at $1,154,180 for each security on Tuesday. The average trade for October to date is 15,718 shares at $265.026 compared to 16,164 units at $270,737 on Tuesday and is much higher than, September’s average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 5.78 points to 1,303.24, to be down 11.2 percent for the year to date. The All T&T Index is down 20 percent for the year to date after dropping 6.94 points on Wednesday to 1,751.77, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.63 points to close at 115.52.

The total value and volume of stocks trading jumped sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with Clico Investments contributing largely to the more than seven times rise in shares traded on Monday.
Trading ended, with 505,169 shares for $13,850,155 passing through the market, compared to 59,653 shares at $587,579 on Monday from 12 securities changing hands, down from fifteen on Monday, leading to four stocks advancing, two declining and six remaining unchanged.
The average trade for the day amounted to 42,097 units at $1,154,180 versus an average of 3.977 units at $39,172 for each security on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 16,164 shares at $270,737 compared to 14,787 units at $282,877 on Monday. In contrast, September closed with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index advanced 1.47 points to 1,309.02, the All T&T Index rose 0.08 points to 1,758.71, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.39 to close at 116.15.

Volumes remained low on Monday but picked up from Friday’s levels with an exchange of 21 percent more shares traded after the overall volume on Friday plunged 91 from Thursday level on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Trading resulted in 59,653 shares for $587,579 compared to 49,373 shares for $239,933 on Friday. The market closed on Monday with 15 securities changing hands compared with just seven on Friday, resulting in four stocks advancing, four declining and only seven remaining unchanged.
The average trade for the day amounted to 3,877 units at $39,172 versus an average of 7,053 units at $34,276 for each security on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 14,787 shares at $282,877 compared to 15,556 units at $300,202 on Friday, exceeding the outturn for September with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.

Trading plunged on Friday, with an exchange of 91 percent fewer shares than on Thursday as the value of stocks changing hands dived 97 percent on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange as just 7 securities traded, down from 14 on Thursday.

Trading climbed sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday with 479 percent more shares changing hands than on Tuesday and values soaring 1,157 percent due mainly to large dollar trades by Clico Investments, Trinidad and Tobago NGL and Republic Financial Holdings.

Republic Holdings controlled the largest block of funds in trading on Wednesday.

The market closed with 14 securities trading, up from thirteen on Tuesday and closed with six stocks advancing, four declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 199,471 shares for $8,074,531 compared to 34,476 shares valued $642,275 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 14,248 units at $576,752 versus an average of 2,652 units at $49,406 for each security on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 14,106 shares at $282,706 compared to 14,096 units at $259,316 on Tuesday. Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended on Tuesday with the market indices declining slightly after an exchange of 40 percent fewer shares than on Monday and values falling 58 percent.
The market closed with 13 securities trading, up from twelve on Monday and closed with one stock advancing, three declining and nine remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 34,476 shares changing hands for $642,275 compared to 57,704 shares valued $1,530,562 on Monday.

The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Stocks rising| Massy Holdings, the sole stock to advance, gained 50 cents to close at $58.50, with 300 shares changing hands.
Stocks declining│First Citizens Bank fell $1 to $44.50, with the trading of 2,586 stock units, JMMB Group ended 4 cents lower at $1.75 after exchanging 1,190 units and Scotiabank lost 10 cents to finish at $55, in transferring 1,732 shares.
Stocks trading firm│ Clico Investments remained at $25.26, with an exchange of 4,500 stock units, Grace Kennedy had a transfer of 6,000 shares at $3.55, Guardian Media closed at $4.75 trading 1,050 units. NCB Financial Group exchanged 2,345 shares at $7.95. National Enterprises traded 1,400 stock units at $3.92, National Flour ended at $1.90, with a transfer of 4,600 shares, Trinidad and Tobago NGL closed at $14.95, in trading 2,150 stock units, Unilever Caribbean transferred 1,000 units at $16.80 and West Indian Tobacco remained at $33.50, with 5,623 shares changing hands.
