Trinidad stock market dips

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Monday, with the market declining after investors swapped 56 percent fewer shares than on Friday, resulting in an equal number of stocks rising and falling.
The market closed with fourteen securities trading with three stocks advancing, three declining and eight remaining unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 38,763 shares valued at $1,040,330 compared to 87,618 shares for $1,437,480 on Friday from 10 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 2,769 units at $74,309 versus an average of 8,762 stock units for $143,748 for each security. Trading for August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.84 points to 1,327.97. The All T&T Index shed 1.66 points to 1,798.99, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 115.76.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than its last selling price and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising First Citizens Bank closed 55 cents higher at $46.65, in trading 1,000 units, National Enterprises gained 5 cents to finish at $4.05, with 139 shares changing hands and Unilever Caribbean ended at $17, with gains of 3 cents. With a transfer of 1,000 units.
Stocks declining Clico Investments shed 49 cents, exchanging 3,702 stock units to settle at $25, Guardian Holdings ended 10 cents lower at $19.50, with 3,605 stock units crossing the market and West Indian Tobacco fell 99 cents to $36 trading 823 units.

First Caribbean International ended at $7.05, exchanging 6,776 stock units, Massy Holdings ended at $59 with a transfer of 267 units, National Flour Mills closed at $1.83 in trading 4,812 stock units. Scotiabank finished at $54.99, with 11,240 shares changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL traded 4,437 stock units at $16.16.

TTSE ends week higher

The volume of stocks trading Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday dipped 12 percent below Thursday’s level with 10 percent more value, leaving the market to end mixed for the day and slightly up for the week.

The T&T Composite Index rose 2.86 points to 1,328.81, The All T&T Index lost 0.33 points to 1,800.65, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.83 points to close at 115.76.

National Flour was down 2 cents, transferring 2,000 units to end at $1.83 and Prestige Holdings finished at $7.50, with a loss of 50 cents after exchanging just 12 units.

Trinidad Cement lost 1 cent to finish at $2, in trading 3,400 stock units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL shed 30 cents, transferring 1,826 units to close at $16.10.

The market closed with eleven securities trading with three stocks advancing, one declining and seven unchanged.  Trading resulted in 135,995 shares valued at $1,331,885 changing hands, compared to 85,316 shares for $1,386,510 on Tuesday from 16 securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 12,363 units at $121,080 versus an average of 5,332 stock units for $86,657 for each security. For the month to date, trading resulted in an average of 13,590 units valued at $140,154 versus 13,738 at $141,859 on Tuesday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index gained 1.09 points to 1,329.33, The All T&T Index rose 2.17 points to 1,800.08, while the Cross Listed Index was unchanged at 115.98.

Trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday resulted in a 138 percent jump in volume, with 90 percent more value above Monday’s levels but the overall market dipped moderately.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, seven declining and six companies’ shares closing unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 85,316 shares valued at $1,386,510 compared to 35,937 shares for $727,964 on Monday from 20 securities.
The average trade on Tuesday amounted to 5,332 units at $86,657 versus an average of 1,797 stock units for $36,398 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade per security ends at 13,738 for $127,223, down from 15,532 units at $154,364 on Monday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.77 points to 1,328.24. The All T&T Index dropped 4.61 points to 1,797.91, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.15 points to close at 115.98.
