Stocks mostly rise on TTSE on Friday

Stock prices mostly rose in trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, sending the market indices higher after 52 percent fewer shares and 71 percent lower value changed hands compared to Thursday.
Ansa Merchant Bank jumped $3.11 on the news of its intention to acquire all the shares in Bank of Baroda (Trinidad and Tobago).
The market closed with 15 securities trading, similar to Thursday and ended with six stocks advancing, three declining and six remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 192,797 shares for $2,859,811 compared to 399,542 shares valued $9,719,737 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 12,853 units at $190,654 versus an average of 26,636 units at $647,982 for each security on Thursday. Month to date averaged 10,981 shares at $129,455 compared to 10,884 units at $126,268 on Thursday. October averaged 16,922 shares at $285,061 for each security.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 5.21 points to 1,286.72, the All T&T Index climbed 8.32 points to 1,714.39, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.28 points to close at 116.16.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Agostini’s gained 25 cents trading 200 shares to close at $24.50, Ansa McAL added $1.50 to end at $51.50, in exchanging 11,500 stock units, Ansa Merchant Bank climbed $3.11 to $39.50, with a transfer of 1,056 units. First Citizens Bank rose 50 cents to $43.50, with 5,200 stocks changing hands, Grace Kennedy ended 10 cents higher at $3.70, in trading 89 units and JMMB Group added 2 cents to settle at $1.82, with 111,820 shares crossing the market.
Stocks declining│ Guardian Holdings shed 10 cents to finish at $20.40, in transferring 1,000 shares, One Caribbean Media lost 2 cents trading 4,651 stock units at $4.80 and Republic Financial Holdings declined by $3 to $133, with an exchange of 950 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Clico Investments closed unchanged at $25, trading 17,075 shares, Guardian Media transferred 2,182 units at $3.50, NCB Financial Group held firm at $8 after exchanging 2,544 stock units. Scotiabank ended at $54, with 16,737 shares changing hands, Trinidad and Tobago NGL traded 14,252 stock units at $14.50 and Unilever Caribbean closed at $16.70, with a transfer of 3,541 units.
