Bumper trade for Junior Market

 It was a bumper day on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded surging 397 percent and the value jumped 356 percent more than on Thursday with 46 securities up from 42 on Thursday and ended with prices of 16 rising, 22 declining and eight closing unchanged. 
A total of 36,083,718 shares were traded for $101,351,606 versus 7,255,920 units at $22,249,838 on Thursday.
Trading average of 784,429 shares at $2,203,296 compared to 172,760 units at $529,758 on Thursday with the month to date, averaging 338,982 stocks at $938,780 compared to 308,490 stock units at $852,221 on the previous day. November closed with an average of 259,893 units at $711,335.
Fosrich led trading with 18.46 million shares for 51.2 percent of total volume, followed by JFP Ltd with 11.44 million units for 31.7 percent of the day’s trade, Regency Petroleum with 1.79 million units for 5 percent of trading and Lumber Depot with 1.23 million units for 3.4 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index slipped 9.81 points to settle at 3,908.35.

Future Energy Source dipped 17 cents to $5.07 after a transfer of 177,671 units, General Accident increased 30 cents to $5 in switching ownership of 21,331 stocks, GWest Corporation dropped 13 cents in closing at $1.02 with the swapping of 1,824 shares. Indies Pharma lost 20 cents at $2.60 with a transfer of 1,761 stocks, Iron Rock Insurance advanced 46 cents to end at $2.35 with an exchange of one unit, JFP Ltd rallied 10 cents to close at $1.55 after an exchange of 11,438,854 stock units. Lumber Depot climbed 15 cents in ending at $2.45 after trading 1,231,390 shares, Paramount Trading rallied 36 cents in closing at $1.89 after exchanging 4,000 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies jumped $1.77 to $14.97, with 603 shares crossing the market and Tropical Battery fell 23 cents to end at $2.15 after 296,469 stock passed through the market.

Trading dives sharply on TTSE

Trading activity dived on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 74 percent compared to Thursday with a 67 percent fall in value, resulting in 16 securities trading down from 19 on Thursday, with prices of two rising, four declining and ten remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged only 262,773 shares for $4,642,672 compared to 1,002,558 stocks at $14,185,030 on Thursday.
An average of 16,423 units were traded at $290,212 compared with 52,766 shares at $746,581 on Thursday, with trading month to date averaging 44,559 shares at $470,237 versus 46,059 units at $479,839 on the previous day. Trading in November averaged 51,348 at $461,794.
The Composite Index fell 0.95 points to 1,330.79, the All T&T Index shed 3.42 points to 2,001.13 and the Cross-Listed Index rallied 0.24 points to settle at 85.87.

JSE Main Market rally ahead of Christmas

Trading fell back to more normal levels on Thursday on the Market activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with an 89 percent drop in volume of stocks traded and an 85 percent fall in value compared with market activity on Wednesday, after trading of 58 securities compared to 59 on Wednesday, with 19 rising, 16 declining and 23 ending unchanged.
A total of 7,586,543 shares were traded for $112,182,540 versus 68,370,391 units at $766,972,565 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 130,802 shares at $1,934,182, versus 1,158,820 units at $12,999,366 on Wednesday and month to date, an average of 494,948 units at $3,029,587, compared with 520,032 units at $3,105,033 on the previous day. November closed with an average of 202,406 units at $1,736,493.
Jamaica Broilers led trading with 2.03 million shares for 26.7 percent of total volume followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 958,565 units for 12.6 percent of the day’s trade and Wigton Windfarm, 888,530 units for 11.7 percent market share. The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 1,195.13 points to 380,984.79, the JSE Main Index rallied 1,526.78 points to 341,994.74 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.71 points to 82.03.

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market ended on Thursday, with the volume of stocks changing hands rising 11 percent and the value jumping 92 percent and resulting in 11 securities traded, compared to seven on Wednesday with one rising, four declining and six ending unchanged.
A total of 73,385 shares were traded for US$24,703 up from 65,972 units at US$12,493 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 6,671 shares at US$2,246, compared with 9,425 shares at US$1,785 on Wednesday, with a month to date average of 33,168 units at US$1,381 versus 35,867 units at US$1,293 on the previous day. November ended with an average of 33,854 units for US$3,351.

Junior Market rises on lower volume – Thursday

Trading activity was vastly different from that on Wednesday, with the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closing on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded dropping 87 percent and the value plunging 88 percent lower than on Wednesday after trading 42 securities versus 41 on Wednesday and ended with prices of 24 rising, 10 declining and eight closing unchanged.
A total of 7,255,920 shares were traded for $22,249,838, down from 57,486,327 units at $181,774,492 on Wednesday.
Trading on Thursday averaged 172,760 shares at $529,758, down from 1,402,106 units at $4,433,524 on Wednesday with the month to date, averaging 308,490 units at $852,221 compared with 317,538 stock units at $873,718 on the previous day. November closed with an average of 259,893 units at $711,335.
Regency Petroleum led trading with 1.74 million shares for 24 percent of total volume followed by ONE on ONE Educational with 1.37 million units for 18.9 percent of the day’s trade and Future Energy Source with 1.06 million units for 14.6 percent market share.

Rising stocks were the dominant feature of market activity on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday as the volume of stocks traded slipped 4 percent with a 41 percent more value than on Wednesday resulting in 19 securities trading compared with 18 on Wednesday, with prices of eight rising, three declining and eight remaining unchanged.

Trading surge for JSE Main Market

Trading jumped sharply on Wednesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market with a surge of 666 percent in the volume of stocks changing hands over Tuesday with a 700 percent jump in funds entering the market than the previous day, after 59 securities were exchanged compared to 57 on Tuesday and ending with prices of 25 rising, 19 declining and 15 ending unchanged.
A total of 68,370,391 shares were traded for $766,972,599 up from 8,931,395 units at $95,827,826 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 1,158,820 units at $12,999,366, up from 156,691 shares at $1,681,190 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 520,032 units at $3,105,033 compared to 471,898 units at $2,359,483 on the previous day. Trading in November closed with an average of 202,406 units at $1,736,493.
Radio Jamaica led trading with 40.25 million shares for 58.9 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 13.37 million units for 19.6 percent of the day’s trade, GraceKennedy traded 4.58 million units for 6.7 percent of the market trade, Jamaica Broilers settled at 4.46 million units for 6.5 percent of shares traded, Barita Investments chipped in with 1.50 million units for 2.2 percent market share and Sagicor Select Financial Fund had 1.46 million units for 2.1 percent of trading.
The All Jamaican Composite Index gained 2,594.86 points to 382,179.92, the JSE Main Index rose 86.10 points to 340,467.96 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.10 points to settle at 81.32.

A total of 65,972 shares were traded for US$12,493 compared with 1,534,710 units at US$17,244 on Tuesday.

The volume of stocks traded jumped from 22,074,785 shares to 57,486,327 units on Wednesday at a value of $181,774,492 up from $73,296,318 on Tuesday.
Trading on Wednesday averaged 1,402,106 shares at $4,433,524 compared to 513,367 units at $1,704,566 on Tuesday. Trading for the month to date, averaged 317,538 units at $873,718 versus 242,042 stock units at $625,922 on the previous day. Trading in November averaged 259,89 units at $711,335.

Jump in activities on Trinidad Exchange

Investors pumped more funds into the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, but the volume of stocks traded declined 29 percent, with the value 11 percent more than on Tuesday resulting from trading in 18 securities down from 22 on Tuesday, with six stocks rising, one declining and 11 remaining unchanged, with the heavily weighted Republic Financial jumping $2.88 to push the market indices much higher at the close.
Investors traded 1,043,504 shares for $10,036,140 versus 1,477,165 stock units at $9,077,584 on Tuesday. An average of 57,972 units were traded at $557,563 compared with 67,144 shares at $412,617 on Tuesday, with trading month to date averaging 45,606 shares at $461,803 versus 44,759 units at $455,249 on the previous day. The average trade for November amounts to 51,348 at $461,794.
The Composite Index climbed 17.83 points to 1,329.49, the All T&T Index jumped 24.00 points to 1,999.32 and the Cross-Listed Index advanced 1.57 points to settle at 85.76.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows four stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
At the close, Agostini’s remained at $50 after 5,000 shares were traded, Angostura Holdings ended at $24 in an exchange of 118 stock units, Ansa McAl remained at $51.40 with the swapping of 513 units. Ansa Merchant Bank ended at $42.50 after 1,500 stocks passed through the market, Clico Investment Fund popped 5 cents to close at $26.80 with 59,532 stock units changing hands, First Citizens Group rose 95 cents to close at $51 with an exchange of 4,175 units. FirstCaribbean International Bank rallied 60 cents to end at $5.70 after exchanging 44,577 stocks, GraceKennedy remained at $4.50, with 477 shares changing hands, Guardian Holdings ended at $26.99, with 10,584 stocks crossing the exchange. Massy Holdings remained at $4.50 in an exchange of 818,196 shares, National Enterprises gained 14 cents after ending at $3.40 with a transfer of 50,000 stock units, National Flour Mills ended at $1.50 as investors exchanged 1,046 units. NCB Financial remained at $4.56 in trading 14,947 units, Republic Financial popped $2.88 in closing at $140 while exchanging 20,206 stocks, Scotiabank ended at $77.90 with investors transferring 6,136 stock units. Trinidad & Tobago NGL dipped 10 cents to $22.33 after trading 1,875 shares, Unilever Caribbean rallied 4 cents to close at $12.89, with 70 stocks crossing the market and West Indian Tobacco ended at $22 with an exchange of 4,552 stock units.
