Flat close for TTSE stocks

Friday closed with advancing stocks outnumbering declines, on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange as sixteen securities traded down from 18 on Thursday with the market indices carving out modest movements for the day.
The market closed with the prices of seven securities rising, four declining and five closing unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 167,722 shares valued at $1,805,037 compared to 227,019 shares for $2,597,044 on Thursday.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.85 points to close at 1,310.61, The All T&T Index dipped 0.30 points to 1,764.72, while the Cross Listed Index picked up 0.23 points to end at 115.74.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than its last selling prices and two with lower offers.
Gainers│ First Citizens Bank rose 29 cents to close at $46, with an exchange of 1,257 units, JMMB Group finished 5 cents higher at $1.95, in trading 1,000 units, NCB Financial added 2 cents to end at $7.88, with investors transferring 70,000 shares. Scotiabank added 30 cents to close at $54.95, after trading 69 units. Trinidad and Tobago NGL gained 19 cents with an exchange of 100 units to close at $17, Unilever Caribbean transferred 20,000 stock units at $17, after picking up 12 cents and West Indian Tobacco settled at $34.25, having gained 15 cents exchanging 20 units.
Losers│ Clico Investments lost 17 cents trading 6,969 stock units and closed at $24.58, Massy Holdings fell $1 to $57, in an exchange of 1,079 units. National Enterprises lost 15 cents to $4.50 in transferring 1,265 shares and One Caribbean Media ended 20 cents lower at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.25, with 11,200 stock units changing hands.
Firm Traders│ Ansa McAL traded 2,000 units at $50, Guardian Holdings remained at $19.50, after the transfer of 2,522 units, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy closed at US$1 with 48,709 shares crossing the market and Point Lisas exchanged 1,032 units at $3.25.

More slippage for JSE Main Market

The Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange continued to slide on Thursday with the market being down in all trading days of July except for a brief rise of less than a thousand points on Thursday last week, with the All Jamaica Index to be down 12,027 points for the month to date.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,202.72 points to 405,477.48, the JSE Market Index slipped 1,086.54 points to 369,994.31 and the JSE Financial Index carved out a gain of 0.08 points to close at 95.69.
Trading ended with 42 securities changing hands with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 17 declining and 10 closing unchanged and the average PE Ratio ended at 15.5 based on IC Insider.com forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 16,789,783 shares accounting for $102,277,280 compared to 26,057,067 units at $114,023,224 on Wednesday. The average trade for the day ended at 399,757 units at $2,435,173 in contrast to an average of 651,427 valued at $2,850,581 on Wednesday. The average traded for July to date amounts to 483,377 units at $2,494,914 for each security, in contrast to 418,151 units at $2,504,951 each. The average volume and value for June closed at 818,748 units at $7,498,303.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 7.97 million shares for 48 percent of total volume followed by Transjamaican Highway with 4.43 million units for 26 percent of the day’s trade and Pulse Investments with 913,284 units for 5.4 percent market share.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the Main market shows 11 stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and 7 with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Barita Investments lost 50 cents to end at $58.50 in an exchange of 930 units, Berger Paints closed 99 cents lower at $13, in transferring 100 units, Caribbean Cement climbed $2.10 to $49, after trading 407,518 shares. First Rock Capital finished at $13.38, with a loss of 82 cents in exchanging 36,016 stock units, Grace Kennedy rose 49 cents to $57.99, with 348,320 shares crossing the market, Jamaica Broilers fell $1.89 trading 2,591 units and closed at $26.60, Jamaica Stock Exchange ended $1.24 lower at $22.51, in trading 7,685 units. NCB Financial Group advanced by $2 to $135, with investor having transferred 107,228 shares, 138 Student Living closed $1 higher at $6.99, with 2,000 stock units changing hands, PanJam Investment tumbled $6.50 and settled at $66.50, after trading 31,900 shares, Portland JSX climbed $1 to close at $9 trading 80 shares. Proven Investments slipped 95 cents to end at $33, in transferring 212,681 shares, Seprod gained 75 cents and closed at $52.50, with investors switching over 16,681 stock units. Sygnus Credit Investments gained 40 cents to finish at $16.40 with transfers of 18,009 stock units and Victoria Mutual Investments closed 34 cents lower to end at $7.26, in 62,150 shares changing hands.

Junior Market loses ground on Thursday

The Junior Market moved higher during early trading on Thursday, with the market Index hitting the 2620 points mark, but it failed to hang to the gains by the close to end with a fall of 14 points to end at 2596.02.
At the close, investors exchanged 6,245,390 shares for $15,597,349 from 33 securities compared to 22,898,027 units at $49,652,613 from 34 securities on Wednesday.
Trading ended with the prices of nine stocks rising, 13 declining and 11 closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Mailpac Group led trading with 2.8 million shares for 45 percent of total the volume followed by Indies Pharma with 1.13 million units for 18 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 798,698 units for 13 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 189,254 units at $472,647, in contrast to an average of 673,471 valued at $1,460,371 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 517,773 units for $9,832,505, in contrast to 658,177 at $1,664,469 previously. In contrast, the average trade for June was 245,049 units at $689,955 for each security traded.

At the close of the market AMG Packaging declined by 1 cent to end at $1.51 with investors trading 3,197 shares, Blue Power fell 8 cents to settle at $3.80 with investors swapping 3,626 stock units, Cargo Handlers dropped 30 cents in a transfer of 100 stock units to finish at $7.50. Caribbean Assurance Brokers slipped 3 cents to $2.20 with an exchange of 1,500 shares, Caribbean Producers dipped 10 cents trading 32,320 units to settle at $2.38, Derrimon Trading rose 3 cents to end at $2.41 with 53,674 units changing hands. Everything Fresh gained 9 cents in an exchange of 4,337 shares to settle at 75 cents, Fosrich shed 15 cents to close at $3.75 trading 8,810 units in the process, General Accident ended 1 cent higher at $7 with investors trading 121,951 shares. Honey Bun lost 8 cents to close at $5.50 in an exchange of 75,000 stock units, iCreate lost 1 cent to 54 cents trading 37,636 shares, Jamaican Teas lost 6 cents to close at $4.79 with 13,801 shares changing hands. Jetcon Corporation advanced 7 cents to end at $1.08 in the transferring of 128,201 units, Knutsford Express dropped $1.10 and exchanged 355,936 stock units to close at $6.80, Lasco Manufacturing shed 29 cents to end at $3.61 with 41,729 units crossing the exchange. Limners and Bards gained 3 cents to close at $2.50 with investors transferring 3,601 shares, Lumber Depot rose 3 cents to settle at $1.05 with investors trading 798,698 stock units, Mailpac Group exchanged 2,800,768 units to finish at $1.98 after rising 2 cents. Medical Disposables dropped 60 cents to close at $6.40 with the trading of 10,000 units and Stationery and Office Supplies dived 28 cents to end at $5.70 with 33,291 shares crossing the exchange.
In the junior market preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% gained 4 cents to finish at $1.20, with investors transferring 150 stock units and Derrimon Trading climbed 10 cents to close at $1.90 with 59,447 units changing hands.

Trading volume jumped on the JSE US dollar market on Thursday with an exchange of 1,267,959 shares for US$14,730 compared to 168,832 units at US$13,590 on Wednesday.
The average trade for the day ended at 422,653 units at US$4,910, in contrast to an average of 33,766 valued at US$2,718 on Wednesday. For the month to date, an average of 96,344 units traded at $5,438 each, in contrast to 64,765 units at US$6,022 for each security. In contrast, June finished with an average of 281,680 units at US$46,735.
At the close, the JSE US Dollar Index shed 2.55 points to close at 186.31. Trading ended with three securities changing hands with the prices of one stock declining and two closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the JSE US Dollar Market ended at 13.2 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.

TTSE stocks dip better prospects ahead

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago market ended with declining stocks outdistancing advancing ones, by a three to one margin. At the close, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading was positive, with eight stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
The market closed with eighteen securities trading with the prices of three advancing, nine declining and six unchanged. Market activity resulted in 227,019 shares trading for $2,597,044 compared to 61,713 units for $1,287,355 on Wednesday from 10 securities.
The T&T Composite Index dropped 5.87 points to 1,309.76, The All T&T Index dived 12.15 points to 1,765.02, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.07 points to end at 115.40.
Gainers│ Calypso Macro Index Fund gained 50 cents to settle at 14.50 with a transfer of 535 units, Point Lisas picked up 10 cents to end at $3.25, in exchanging 30 units and Scotiabank closed at $54.65, with gains of 5 cents in trading just one stock unit.
Losers│ Agostini’s closed 25 cents lower at $24.50, in transferring a mere one unit, Clico Investments traded 940 units at $24.75, after shedding 25 cents, First Citizens Bank declined by $2.79 to $45.71, with 100 units changing hands. Massy Holdings lost $1.90 and ended at $58, after exchanging 5,484 stock units. National Enterprises lost 10 cents to end at $4.65, with a transfer of 485 units, National Flour was down 5 cents at $1.80, in trading 28,425 shares. NCB Financial lost 2 cents to finish at $7.86, with 109,650 shares crossing the market. Steady trading for JSE Main Market

Trading on the Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed with more shares trading at a lower value than on Tuesday and ended with an even number of prices rising as falling, leaving the market indices modestly down.
Trading ended with 40 securities changing hands with the prices of 16 stocks rising, 16 declining and eight securities ended unchanged. At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index fell 161.12 points to 406,680.20, the JSE Market Index shed 143.95 points to 371,080.85 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.74 points to end at 95.61.
The average PE Ratio of the Main Market ended at 15.5 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 26,057,067 shares accounting for $114,023,224 compared to 16,335,306 units at $134,380,830 on Tuesday.
Pulse Investments led trading with 8 million shares for 31 percent of total volume followed TransJamaican Highway with 6.7 million units for 26 percent of the day’s trade and Wigton Windfarm with 6.4 million units for 25 percent market share. Other stocks trading a million units or more, are Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 1.6 million shares and Wisynco Group with 1.07 million units.
The average trade for the day ended at 651,427 units at $2,850,581 in contrast to an average of 398,422 valued at $3,277,581 on Tuesday. Junior Market ekes out more gains – Wednesday

Within 20 minutes of opening on Wednesday, the Junior Market surged nearly 40 points to 2,640.89 points, but selling pressure of a few stocks gradually eroded the most of the early gains, leaving the Market Index in adding just 8.04 points for the day, to finish at 2610.02 with Mailpac accounting for more than 19 million shares.
Similar to Tuesday, when 34 securities changed hands, a similar number of stocks traded on Wednesday, with the prices of 14 stocks rising, nine declining and 11 stocks closing unchanged. The day ended with an exchange of 22,898,027 shares accounting for $49,652,613 compared to 21,554,761 units at $46,869,796 on Tuesday. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Mailpac Group led trading with 19.3 million shares for 84 percent of total volume followed by General Accident with 1.24 million units for 5.4 percent of the day’s trade and Everything Fresh with 498,073 units for 2 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 673,471 units at $1,460,371, in contrast to an average of 633,964 shares for $1,378,523 on Tuesday. For the month to date, an average of 658,177 shares traded at $1,664,469 for each security, in contrast to 554,511 units at $1,456,207 previously. in comparison, the average trade for June was 245,049 units at $689,955 for each security traded.

GWest Corporation advanced 4 cents to 89 cents in trading 200 units, Honey Bun rose 3 cents to settle at $5.58 with the trading of 61,790 units, Indies Pharma gained 1 cent as investors transferred 341,207 shares to finish at $2.95. Jamaican Teas declined by 5 cents to end at $4.85 with trading in 4,500 shares, Jetcon Corporation closed 2 cents higher at $1.01 with an exchange of 60,500 shares, Limners and Bards lost 13 cents to finish at $2.47 with 125,851 shares changing hands. Lumber Depot fell 5 cents and traded 309,800 shares to close at $1.02, Mailpac Group exchanged 19,259,357 units and gained 8 cents to settle at $1.96, Medical Disposables jumped 25 cents to close at $7 with 16,482 stock units changing hands. Paramount Trading lost 6 cents to finish at $1.94, with investors transferring 705 stock units and SSL Venture gained 12 cents to settle at 90 cents with 452 shares crossing the exchange.

Trinidad market slips

The Trinidad Stock Exchange index suffered more slippage at the close of trading on Wednesday and continuing the slow slide since the start of the month as trading levels dipped well below Tuesday’s levels.
The market closed with ten securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, four declining and three were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 61,713 shares valued at $1,287,355 compared to 439,536 shares for $5,553,342 on Tuesday from 17 securities.
The T&T Composite Index shed 1.45 points to 1,315.63, The All T&T Index declined by 2.89 points to 1,777.17, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 115.40.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than its last selling price and three with lower offers.
Gainers│ NCB Financial added 1 cent to close at $7.88, with a transfer of 30,000 shares, Trinidad and Tobago NGL advanced by 31 cents to $16.81, in exchanging 5,893 stock units and West Indian Tobacco gained 15 cents to finish at $34.25, with 3,193 units changing hands.
Losers│ Agostini’s shed 25 cents trading 83 units and closed at $24.75, Massy Holdings slipped 10 cents to $59.90, with an exchange of 5,528 stock units. Point Lisas ended 10 cents lower at a 52 weeks’ low of $3.15, after transferring 5,000 stock units and Unilever Caribbean closed at $16.88, with a loss of 11 cents in exchanging 503 units.
Firm Trades│ First Citizens Bank traded 10,098 stock units at $48.50, Guardian Holdings held firm at $19.50 trading 415 units. L.J Williams B share remained at $1.40, with 1,000 units changing hands.

JSE US$ market bounces

Volumes climbed sharply on the JSE US$ market on Wednesday but with a value that was similar to that on Tuesday as five securities changed hands, similar to Tuesday.
At the close, the JSE US Dollar Index advanced by 9.15 points to 188.86. Trading ended with the prices of four stocks rising, one declining and none closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the JSE US Dollar Market ended at 13.3 based on IC Insider.com forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 168,832 shares, accounting for US$13,590 compared to 60,494 units at US$13,212 on Tuesday. The average trade for the day ended at 33,766 units at US$2,718 in contrast to an average of 12,099 at US$2,642 on Tuesday.
An average of 64,765 shares traded for the July to date, at US$5,489 for each security changing hands. In contrast to 76,698 units at US$6,022. For comparison, June ended with an average of 281,680 units at US$46,735.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the JSE US Dollar market shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close of the market, First Rock Capital Investment gained nine-tenths of a cent to end at 10 US cents, in exchanging nine units, Productive Business Solutions lost 2 cents and closed at 66 US cents in transferring 100 units. Proven Investments ended at 24.5 US cents, with a gain of half a cent trading 26,429 shares, Sygnus Credit Investments gained 1.9 cents to 15 US cents, after exchanging 41,550 shares and Transjamaica Highway traded 100,744 shares at and added one-tenth of a cent to 0.99 of a cent.

More slippage for JSE Main Market

Trading picked up on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Tuesday with a tripling of the number of shares changing hands at nearly three times the value, but the market index dipped by the close.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 1,754.44 points to 406,841.32, the JSE Market Index sank 1,536.62 points to 371,224.80 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.09 points to 96.35. The average PE Ratio of the Main Market closed at 15 based on IC Insider.com forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Trading ended with 41 securities changing hands with the prices of 18 stocks rising, 19 declining and four unchanged. The market closed with an exchange of 16,335,306 shares accounting for $134,380,830 compared to 5,526,846 units at $49,678,898 on Monday. Transjamaican Highway led trading with 6.10 million shares for 37.4 percent of total volume followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 4.81 million units for 29.5 percent of the day’s trade and Wigton Windfarm with 1.61 million units for 9.9 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 398,422 units at $3,277,581 in contrast to an average of 128,531 valued at $1,155,323 on Monday. An average of 373,718 units traded for the month to date for $4,445,101 in contrast to 367,724 units at $1,363,982. The average volume and value for June was 818,748 units at $7,498,303.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the Main market shows 11 stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and 5 with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Barita Investments gained $1.52 to settle at $59 after exchanging 830 units, Berger Paints closed 99 cents higher at $13.99, in trading 5,037 stock units, Caribbean Cement fell to $47.90, with a loss of 60 cents in the transfer of 313,005 shares. Eppley Caribbean Property Fund climbed $1 to $44, with an exchange of 6,240 shares, First Rock Capital shed 95 cents trading 12,623 stock units and closed at $13.05, Grace Kennedy shed $1 to finish at $55, after trading 420,726 shares. Jamaica Producers ended at $22.50, having lost $1 in transferring 39,348 units, JMMB Group jumped $1.48 to $31.99, with 67,277 shares crossing the market, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy advanced $4 to close at $172 after trading just 100 units. NCB Financial Group declined $1.40 to $134.10 with an exchange of 393,783 shares, Palace Amusement sustained a loss of $10 to finish at $1,790, after swapping 20 units, PanJam Investment dropped $1 in trading 10,829 stock units and settled at $73. Proven Investments ended with a loss of 44 cents at $33.95, with 1,637 units changing hands and Wisynco Group shed 30 cents to finish at $17.70, in transferring 34,252 shares.
