Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange picked up again on Friday with 56 percent more volume changing hands, a continuation on the 121 percent increase on Thursday and 110 percent rise on Wednesday over Tuesday.
The market closed with 24 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 6,448,734 units valued at $22,892,348 compared to 25 securities trading leading to 4,140,205 units valued at $15,416,896 on Thursday. Trading was dominated by AMG Packaging, Caribbean Producers with more than 1 million share each and Jamaican Teas with just over 670,000 units.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 8 securities advanced, 10 declined and 6 remained with unchanged, resulting in the market index, slipping 13.33 points to 3,066.28.
Trading ended with an average of 268,697 units for an average of $953,848 in contrast to 165,608 units for an average of $616,676 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date are 180,947 units valued at $711,197, in contrast to 163,397 units at $662,667 previously. In contrast, August closed with average of 234,437 units valued at $1,295,260 for each security traded.

TTSE inched upwards on Friday
Trading fell off on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday as 11 securities changed hands compared to 14 on Thursday with all three indices rising modestly. Guardian Holdings and Clico Investment led with 51 percent and 37 percent respectively of the value of securities exchanged.
At the close, 2 stocks advanced, 3 declined and 6 were unchanged as 459,886 units traded valued at $6,474,935 compared to Thursday’s trades of 478,341 valued at $14,743,320.
The Composite Index rose 0.26 points to 1,241.95, the All T&T Index gained 0.19 points to 1,789.05 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.05 points to close at 93.33.
