Junior Market trading jumps again

Caribbean Producers closed at $3.11 with 3,612,085 shares.

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange picked up again on Friday with 56 percent more volume changing hands, a continuation on the 121 percent increase on Thursday and 110 percent rise on Wednesday over Tuesday.
The market closed with 24 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 6,448,734 units valued at $22,892,348 compared to 25 securities trading leading to 4,140,205 units valued at $15,416,896 on Thursday. Trading was dominated by AMG Packaging, Caribbean Producers with more than 1 million share each and Jamaican Teas with just over 670,000 units.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 8 securities advanced, 10 declined and 6 remained with unchanged, resulting in the market index, slipping 13.33 points to 3,066.28.
Trading ended with an average of 268,697 units for an average of $953,848 in contrast to 165,608 units for an average of $616,676 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date are 180,947 units valued at $711,197, in contrast to 163,397 units at $662,667 previously. In contrast, August closed with average of 234,437 units valued at $1,295,260 for each security traded.

TTSE inched upwards on Friday

Trading fell off on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday as 11 securities changed hands compared to 14 on Thursday with all three indices rising modestly. Guardian Holdings and Clico Investment led with 51 percent and 37 percent respectively of the value of securities exchanged.
At the close, 2 stocks advanced, 3 declined and 6 were unchanged as 459,886 units traded valued at $6,474,935 compared to Thursday’s trades of 478,341 valued at $14,743,320.
The Composite Index rose 0.26 points to 1,241.95, the All T&T Index gained 0.19 points to 1,789.05 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.05 points to close at 93.33.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer ended with 4 stocks with bids higher than last selling prices and 3 with lower offers.
Gains| Angostura Holdings closed trading at $15.15 after the price rose 15 cents, with 594 shares changing hands and Massy Holdings gained 3 cents in closing at $8.95 trading 300 shares.
Losses| The last traded prices of securities declining and the volume changing hands are Guardian Holdings with a loss of 5 cents, to close at $16.55 with 198,091 shares valued at $3,278,320. JMMB Group fell 1 cent and closed at $1.30 with 104,216 shares and Republic Financial Holdings closed 2 cents lower to $101.90 with 1,537 shares.
Firm Trades| The last traded prices of securities and the volume traded unchanged at the close are Clico Investment closing at $20.50 with 118,036 shares valued at $2,418,889, First Citizens trading 5,105 units at $31.68. Thursday’s trading ends with new record

Scotiabank pushed up the JSE indices on Thursday.

The main market the Jamaica Stock Exchange surged sharply in the morning session on Thursday to new record highs, with the All Jamaica Composite Index jumping 6,239.79 points to 296,779.53 and the JSE Market Index climbing 5,685.16 points to 270,399.75 at 9:50, after Scotia Group jumped to a record high of $59.99.
The advance decline ratio was a negative 3 to 1 as the market cooled before the close, to end with the All Jamaica Composite Index still jumping 2,646.72 points to a record close at 293,186.46, the JSE Market Index climbed 2,411.46 points to record close of 267,126.05. The JSE US dollar market index gained 4.53 points to end at 187.14. Technical indicators are pointing to still higher closes ahead with 370,000 points on the All Jamaica seems probable before the rally faces major resistance, having seemingly cleared the 290,000 level.
The recent surge in the market over the past two weeks have been driven almost singlehandedly by Scotia Group moving from around $46 to the current adding approximately 13,000 points to the index. At the close of trading 26 securities changed hands in the main market with 3 trading in the US dollar market, leading to 5 stocks advancing and 14 declining.
The main market ended with 4,327,138 units valued at $83,944,827 changing hands compared to 3,180,409 units valued at $81,180,237 at the close on Wednesday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 20,410 units valued at US$6,756 bringing the total of all trades to J$84,816,398.

Massy stock price recovers on Wednesday from Tuesday’s drop.

Scotia Group remains the star performer on the Jamaica Stock Exchange and is almost the sole stock resulting in the main market hitting new record highs in the past two weeks.

Scotia jumps to record close of $57.99 – Wednesday

Scotia Group shares jumped sharply to end at a record $57.99 on Wednesday.

Fresh from the announcement that Scotia Group is changing their chief executive officer, the stock continued on its merry way and jumped sharply at the start of trading on Wednesday to a new high, before ending trading at another record close.
Scotia ended the day trading 153,874 shares with the price climbing $2.99 to a record close of $57.99.
A the close of trading the All Jamaica Composite Index declined 790.64 points to close at 290,539.74, the JSE Market Index fell 720.36 points to 264,714.57 and the JSE US dollar market index declined 4.57 points to 182.61. Scotiabank dominated trading on the TTSE

Activity on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday resulted in 15 securities changing hands compared to 16 on Tuesday with all indices recording gains. Scotiabank was the lead trade with 68 percent of the value of securities traded.
At the close, 4 stocks advanced, 2 declined and 9 were unchanged as a mere 270,045 shares traded at a value of $9,569,576 compared to Tuesday’s trades of 1,180,284 units valued at $18,912,930.
The Composite Index gained 0.43 points to 1,241.97, the All T&T Index gained 0.46 points to 1,789.42 and the Cross Listed Index added 0.05 points to 93.28 points.
