In trading, Cable and Wireless with 150,300 units changing hands gained 5 cents to end at 44 cents, Caribbean Cement traded 15,442 shares to close at $7 after shedding 10 cents, Carreras had 44,200 units trading to close at $52, Grace Kennedy traded only 1,335 shares and ended $1 lower at $64. Jamaica Broilers had 61,198 shares changing hands, in closing at $7, to record a new 52 weeks’ high after gaining 54 cents. Jamaica Producers added 4 cents to $18.85 with 15,000 units trading, Jamaica Stock Exchange stock traded 4,480 units at $7, National Commercial Bank had 348,023 shares trading and closed with a 49 cents gain to end at $30.49, Radio Jamaica ended with 127,887 shares changing hands at 44 cents higher at $3.45, Sagicor Group ended trading with 7,645 units at $13, Sagicor Real Estate Fund closed at $8.60 while trading 5,387 units with a gain of 60 cents. Scotia Group ended with 777,213 units trading at $24, for 1 cent rise, Proven Investments traded 20,100 ordinary shares at 18 US cents, down 1 cent. Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share closed with 50,000 units changing hands at $2.01.
JSE inches up on Monday
TheJSE Market Index gained 71.71 points to 96,599.90, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 80.16 points to close at 106,911.66 and the JSE combined index gained 34.45 points to end at 99,265.14.

Carreras closed with 47,127 stocks units trading and lost 93 cents at $48.07, Desnoes & Geddes gained 45 cents with just 1,404 units trading, to end at $8, Grace Kennedy had 3,560 shares changing hands after losing 5 cents to end at $63.90. Hardware & Lumber traded 20,000 stocks units with a loss of $1 to close at $18. Jamaica Broilers traded 250,000 shares at $5.50 after shedding 25 cents, Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 9,331 shares to close unchanged at $6.35, JMMB Group closed with 23,587 shares changing hands at $7.45 for a 15 rise, Mayberry Investments had 11,195 units changing hands at $2.88, National Commercial Bank traded 48,527 units to close at $30, after gaining 50 cents. Pulse Investments had 306,000 shares trading at a 52 weeks’ high of 55 cents, to record a gain of 10 cents. Radio Jamaica traded 25,185 stocks units with a loss of 1 cent, to close at $3, Sagicor Group traded 776,521 shares to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $12.60, after putting on 54 cents, Scotia Group ended with 14,717 shares trading unchanged at $23.10. Seprod ended with 19,041 shares changing hands at $15.45 for a gain of 7 cents, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 435,206 units at $2 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 324,497 units at $3.

JMMB Group saw 179,100 shares trading, to close at $7.26, down 24 cents, 138 Student Living traded 12,202,200 stock units and lost 40 cents to end at $4. Sagicor Group had 16,457 shares trading with a gain of 24 cents to end at a new 52 weeks’ high of $12.30, the stock closed with a bid of $13.20 to buy 1,000 shares, posted at 12:24 pm on Wednesday. Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 63,800 stock units at $7.60, Scotia Group had 31,000 shares trading, to close with a 10 cents loss at $24.40, Scotia Investments fell $3.57 with 6,300 stock units trading, to end at $26.28. Seprod lost 50 cents with 6,888 shares trading, to close at $15.49, Proven Investments traded 229,035 stock units at 21 US cents, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share trading 1,401,000 units at $2.03 while 138 Student Living preference share traded 12,000,000 units at $5 and Proven Investments 8% preference share traded 42,955 units at $5.
Markets fell as more stocks decline than rise
TheJSE Market Index lost 996.20 points to 97,498.24, theJSE All Jamaican Composite index fell/ decline/ rose 923.95 points to close at 107,915.70 and the JSE combined index dropped 1,138.33 points to end at 99,681.18.

In trading, Cable & Wireless ended with 1,940,000 units trading between 47 cents and the last price of 50 cents to gain 3 cents, Caribbean Cement closed with 5,400 shares at $4.01, down 34 cents, Desnoes & Geddes finished trading with 69,899 shares at $7.36 after adding a cent to the price, Gleaner saw trading in 102,913 shares to close with 7 cents gains at $1.07, Grace Kennedy closed with just 7,843 units changing hands at $63 to gain 25 cents, Jamaica Broilers finished trading with 23,138 shares while losing 25 cents to $5.25, JMMB Group concluded trading with 21,250 shares to close unchanged at $9. Mayberry Investments completed trading in 1,135,000 shares at $3 by gaining 15 cents at the end, National Commercial Bank had dealings in just 9,944 units to close down 8 cents at $29.52 at the same time the stock closed up in Trinidad at the equivalent of $31.50. Pan Jamaican Investment contributed 2,150 shares to close down by $1.66 at $58.59, Radio Jamaica gained 15 cents to end trading with 40,700 units at $2.75, for anew 52 weeks’ high. Sagicor Group closed with 1,471,642 shares at $12, after shedding 15 cents, Sagicor Real Estate Fund finished trading with 18,896 units at $7.50, for a 50 cents fall, Scotia Group ended trading with just 473 units to close at $25.35 after losing 15 cents. Seprod finished trading with 10,162 units at $18 to gain 50 cents, Supreme Ventures ended with 55,747 units at $3.95, up 35 cents. Trinidad Cement ended trading with 105 shares to close down by at $15, Proven Investments closed with 721,573 shares at 19 US cents, after losing 1.5 US cents. Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share finished trading with 350,000 units at $2.30 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 199,000 shares at $3.02 and lost 3 cents.
JSE over 110K, juniors new high Thursday
Jamaican stocks prices are still cruising on a high with the junior market hitting new high for the fourth day in a row and the main market continuing to move away from resistance heading towards 115,000 point.
The next major level to cross with the all Jamaica Composite index having passed the 110,000 mark as it gained 611.62 to sit at 110,122.61 after an hours trading. The junior market index is at an all-time high of 882.38 points having put on 13.39 in the early morning session.
The junior market has so far traded 9 securities and the main market 14 securities trading and resulted in 3.85 million units changing hands. A total of 7 stocks rose in price and 8 declined so far.
The notable trades so far are Caribbean Cement trading 232,500 shares with the price rising back to $5, Grace Kennedy trading 93,525 units at $65.25, Mayberry Investments with 2,734,501 units up $3 but now is back at $2.79, Seprod with 101,474 at $18.25. All the Mayberry shares were purchased through Mayberry Investments, with JMMB Securities virtually all except for 1,900 units with most being sold from JMMB inventory and bought by Mayberry for their in house purposes.
