The number of securities on Monday picked up above that on Friday on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange, but 62 percent fewer shares were exchanged, for a consideration that was modestly lower on Friday.
Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange Head Quarters
The market closed with 19 securities trading, up from eighteen on Friday, and ended with four stocks advancing, seven declining and eight remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in NCB Financial Group and Trinidad and Tobago NGL dominating market activity, with 63 percent of the trade of 115,163 shares for a consideration of $2,519,064 compared to 305,695 shares valued at $2,595,299 on Friday.
The average trade amounts to 6,061 units at $132,582 versus an average of 16,983 units at $144,183 for each security on Friday. Month to date averaged 15,152 shares at $233,563 compared to 16,047 units at $243,504 on Friday. November closed with an average of 18,691 shares for $276,188.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 2.14 points to 1,315.37, the All T&T Index shed 3.74 points to 1,741.31, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.07 points to close at 120.29.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ L.J. Williams B share gained 10 cents to settle at $1.50 after trading 5,000 shares, Point Lisas added 3 cents to end at $3.15, in transferring 2,000 units, Trinidad Cement finished 10 cents higher at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.45, after an exchange of 4,000 stocks and Unilever Caribbean closed at $16.70, with gains of 10 cents, with 2,191 shares in changing hands.
Stocks declining│ Angostura Holdings shed 50 cents, transferring 1,634 shares to end at $15, First Citizens Bank closed at $43.25, with a loss of 75 cents trading 4,983 stock units, Guardian Media lost 10 cents exchanging 5,730 stocks to finish at a 52 weeks’ low of $3.40. 
National Flour ended 17 cents lower at $2.08, with 775 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings lost 26 cents in an exchange of 9,032 stock shares to settle at $133.84, Scotiabank transferred 376 units at $54.34, after losing 1 cent and West Indian Tobacco was down 5 cents and closed at $35.35 with 265 stock units changing hands.
Stocks trading firm│ Agostini’s exchanged 1,148 shares at $24, Calypso Macro Index Fund transferred 600 units at $14, Clico Investment Fund closed at $25.25 trading 472 units. Guardian Holdings ended at $20.60, in transferring 3,707 units, Massy Holdings held firm at $58, with an exchange of 17 units, NCB Financial Group remained at $8.50 trading 46,087 shares. One Caribbean Media ended at $4.75, with a transfer of 156 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL held firm at $16.50, with 26,990 units crossing the exchange.

Stocks declining│ First Caribbean International Bank slipped 1 cent to $7.04, in exchanging 439 shares, Grace Kennedy fell 24 cents to $3.61, trading 3,000 units, Guardian Holdings shed 33 cents to end at $20.60, with 957 stock units changing hands and Point Lisas lost 3 cents exchanging 1,650 stocks to close at $3.12.
The market closed with 10 securities changing hands, the same as on Wednesday, and ended with five stocks advancing, four declining and one remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 389,550 shares for $3,244,441 compared to 33,817 shares valued $1,298,830 on Wednesday.
National Enterprises picked up 5 cents, transferring 117,000 stock units to finish at $3.05 and Trinidad and Tobago NGL rose $1.89 to $16.50, with 11,550 units changing hands.
JMMB Group lost 5 cents to finish at $1.85 after 39,200 shares changed hands and Republic Financial Holdings lost 1 cent to settle at $133.85, trading 13,654 stock units.
Trinidad and Tobago NGL declined by $2 to $14.50 in transferring 6,721 stock units and West Indian Tobacco lost 3 cents, exchanging 92 units to finish at $35.37.
The Junior Market closed the week at the highest level since November 17 and before that, October 2 and seems poised to take out all recent highs on the way to the year-end rally and a bullish period to come, to take it over 3,000 points. The main Market pulled back from last week’s levels but closed at the highest point for the week on Friday.
Honey Bun dropped out of the TOP 10, with Derrimon Trading replacing it at the bottom of the list. Honey Bun’s stock price jumped 19 percent for the week to $6.49 on Friday, with the stock now showing very limited supply and a bit of demand on the buying side, although a bit below the last sale price. The increased demand this week follows a strong September quarter profit that rose 76 percent over 2019. Wisynco Group spent just a week in the Main Market TOP 10, moved up in price to close out the week with the stock rising to $16.43 from $16.10 and replaced by NCB, in at the tenth position. The projections are for earnings to recover from the increased provision for expected credit loss charges in 2020 and from continued growth in the business and deliver earnings of $12 per share for the current year to September.
Former TOP10 holder MailPac, hit a record high on Friday, in closing at $2.60, up 19 percent from $2.19 last week. Lumber Depot reported earnings for the October quarter, keeping earnings on track for 20 cents per share and put added life into the stock, moving the price up 6 percent to close the week at $1.39 at a PE of 7 times earnings, well below the market average of 13.7. Caribbean Producers moved up 13 percent from $2.60 to $2.94 at the close and up a nice 21.5 percent for the month to date. The stock seems on target to move back into the $4 range sooner than later, with stock supplies thinning out and prospects for improved business looking increasingly better in 2021.
Diagnostic and Jamaican Teas. Lumber Depot, in at third position last week, is now down to sixth after investors responded positively to quarterly results. With expected gains of 146 to 236 percent, the top three Main Market stocks are Berger Paints, followed by Radio Jamaica and Carreras.
The average projected gain for the Junior Market IC TOP 10 stocks is 192 percent down from 210 percent and 129 percent from 133 percent last week for the JSE Main Market, based on 2020-21 earnings. IC TOP 10 stocks are likely to deliver the best returns up to March 2021 and ranked in order of potential gains, based on likely gain for each company, taking into account the earnings and PE ratios for the current fiscal year. Expected values will change as stock prices fluctuate and result in movements in and out of the lists weekly. Revisions to earnings per share are ongoing, based on receipt of new information.
The market closed with 18 securities trading, up from eleven on Tuesday, and ended with five stocks advancing, two declining and eleven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in an exchange of 57 percent fewer shares at 42 percent less value compared to Tuesday as 234,857 shares traded at $3,362,566 compared to 541,911 shares valued at $5,823,399 on Tuesday.
Stocks declining│First Citizens Bank lost 10 cents trading 239 units at $43.90 and JMMB Group ended 2 cents lower at $1.83, with 15,400 stock units crossing the market.
