TTSE trading activity picks up

Trading activities picked up on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Monday with more active securities compared to Friday, leading to a 90 percent increase in the number of shares traded with values that are 65 percent higher than Friday’s levels.

The market closed with 19 securities trading, up from twelve on Friday, and ended with rising and declining stocks accounting for five each and nine remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 94,430 shares for $2,398,390 up from 49,633 shares valued $833,139 on Friday.
The average trade amounts to 4,970 units at $126,231 versus an average of 4,136 units at $69,428 for each security on Friday. Month to date averaged 15,559 shares at $237,841 compared to 17,235 units at $225,512 on Friday. November closed with an average of 18,691 shares for $276,188.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.37 points to 1,299.96, the All T&T Index dropped 8.61 points to 1,731.50, while the Cross Listed Index gained 1.09 points to close at 117.42.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Stocks rising| JMMB Group gained 7 cents to close at $1.90, with 54,650 shares crossing the market, L.J Williams B picked up 1 cent to settle at $1.40, in exchanging 50 units, NCB Financial Group rose 5 cents to $8.10 trading 2,876 stocks. Point Lisas finished 1 cent higher at $3.15, in transferring 4,685 stock units and Trinidad Cement gained 2 cents to $2.32, with an exchange of 1,000 units.
Stocks declining|First Citizens Bank fell $1 to $42, transferring 124 shares, Guardian Holdings lost 7 cents to close at $20.93, with 156 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings shed 14 cents to end at $133.86, after trading 14,499 shares. Trinidad and Tobago NGL declined by $2 to $14.50 in transferring 6,721 stock units and West Indian Tobacco lost 3 cents, exchanging 92 units to finish at $35.37.
Stocks trading firm│ Angostura Holdings traded 263 shares at $15, Ansa McAL held firm at $53.50, in exchanging 100 units, Clico Investment Fund had a transfer of 445 stock units at $25.25. First Caribbean International Bank was unchanged at $7.05, with a transfer of 2,709 shares, Grace Kennedy exchanged 1,792 units at $3.61, Massy Holdings closed at $57 trading 1,102 units. National Enterprises ended at $3, with an exchange of 166 stock units, Prestige Holdings traded 1,500 shares at $7.50 and Scotiabank held firm at $55.49, with 1,500 stocks crossing the market.
