Mixed trading on Trinidad Stock Exchange

Trading activity resulted in more securities changing hands than the day before on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Friday, leading to 18 securities trading compared to 10 on Thursday with an exchange of 22 percent fewer shares and 20 percent lower value.
The market closed with five stocks advancing, four declining and nine remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 305,695 shares changing hands for $2,595,299 compared to 389,550 shares valued $3,244,441 on Thursday.
The average trade amounts to 16,983 units at $144,183 versus an average of 38,955 units at $324,444 on Thursday. Month to date averaged 16,047 shares at $243,504 compared to 15,950 units at $253,720 on Thursday. November closed with an average of 18,691 shares for $276,188.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 1.08 points to 1,317.51, the All T&T Index gained 1.90 points to end at 1,745.05, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.56 points to close at 120.36.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Angostura Holdings rose 50 cents to $15.50, in trading 184 shares, Clico Investment Fund gained 25 cents transferring 7,964 stock units to end at $25.25, National Enterprises added 34 cents to finish at $3.39, in exchanging a mere 3 units. National Flour closed 16 cents higher at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.25, after an exchange of 76,700 shares and Republic Financial Holdings finished at $134.10, with gains of 60 cents trading 3,896 units.
Stocks declining│ First Caribbean International Bank slipped 1 cent to $7.04, in exchanging 439 shares, Grace Kennedy fell 24 cents to $3.61, trading 3,000 units, Guardian Holdings shed 33 cents to end at $20.60, with 957 stock units changing hands and Point Lisas lost 3 cents exchanging 1,650 stocks to close at $3.12.
Stocks trading firm│ Calypso Macro Index Fund exchanged 12,640 shares at $14, First Citizens Bank traded 6,112 units at $44, Guardian Media ended at $3.50, with a transfer of 22,621 stock units. JMMB Group closed at $2 after 120,000 shares crossed the market, Massy Holdings finished at $58, in transferring 170 units, NCB Financial Group traded 20,000 shares at $8.50. Scotiabank ended at $54.35, with an exchange of 6,898 units, Trinidad Cement closed at $2.35, with 1,000 units changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL transferred 21,461 shares at $16.50.
