See-saw action continues on JSE
At the close, the JSE Market Index fell 245.83 points to 97,783.73. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index declined 274.77 points to 108,234.94 at support level on the downside and the JSE combined index fell 50.41 points to end at 101,002.73.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator had a reading of 7 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 9 with offers that were lower.
In trading, Cable and Wireless rose just 1 cent with 2,882,269 (Tuesday 2,494,634) units and at 47 cents. At the close, visible bids exist for 1 million units at 46 cents, and ranging between 40 cents and 45 cents a total of 1.46 million units. On offer between 48 and 55 cents, are 11 visible offers to sell 3.3 million shares. Caribbean Cement had 797,607 shares changing hands for a loss of 10 cents to $7.90, Carreras closed at $50.30 as the price gained 80 cents while 7,380 units traded. Desnoes & Geddes traded 50,000 shares but lost 40 cents in closing at $6, Grace Kennedy had 38,552 units changing hands at $64, Jamaica Broilers closed at $5.60 with 43,741 shares changing hands as the stock lost 80 cents. Sagicor Group with 40,000 shares changing hands, closed with a loss of 43 cents at $12.57, Scotia Group traded 14,800 units to close with a gain of 26 cents at $24, Scotia Investments ended at $27 while only 8,000 units traded but the stock traded in Trinidad at the equivalent of J$29.50 and with a bid to buy over 320,000 units at the same price. Proven Investments ordinary share, traded 15,346 units at 21 US cents, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 53,016 units at $2 and Proven Investments 8% preference share traded 135,594 units at $4.90.
4 TTSE stocks up 3 down on Tuesday
At the close, the Composite Index advanced by 2.84 points to 1,144.38, the All T&T Index gained 1.88 points to 1,947.18 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.51 points to 44.81.
Gains| Agostini’s traded 2,711 shares and closed at $17.26 with a gain of 1 cent, First Citizens Bank had 5,503 shares changing hands to end with a gain of 50 cents at $35, National Commercial Bank traded 13,600 shares and gained 11 cents, to close at $1.63 and Scotiabank closed with 7,288 shares changing hands valued at $454,771 to gain 8 cents and end at $62.40.
Losses| JMMB Group ended with a loss of 2 cents in trading 30,000 shares at 43 cents, Massy Holdings had just 80 shares trading at $62.49 with a loss of 1 cent and National Flour Mills with 51,040 shares changing hands, ended at $2.05 after shedding 4 cents.
Firm Trades|, Ansa McAl traded 460 units to end at $67.25, FirstCaribbean International Bank traded 1,298 shares and closed at $5, Grace Kennedy closed with 7,080 shares changing hands at $3.50, up-at-guardian-holdings/”>Guardian Holdings added 1,949 shares to close at $12.90. One Caribbean Media traded only 80 shares with the price remaining at $22, Point Lisas traded 12,664 shares at $4.07, Prestige Holdings with 1,053 units changing hands ended at $9.89, Scotia Investments closed with 19,925 shares changing hands unchanged at $1.53 and Trinidad Cement ended at $2.75 with 22,556 shares changing hands.

JSE drops back again on Tuesday
The Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed with main market indices dropping once more with declining stocks exceeding advancing ones but with a big jump in the amount of money involved in the trades. The market closed with a fairly high participation rate of 32 securities changing hands.
there were 9,467,807 units trading, valued at $111,559,301 with JMMB Group and National Commercial Bank accounting for the largest trades. At the close 7 stocks rose, 10 declined, in all market segments and the JSE Market Index fell 422.05 points to 98,349.41. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index lost 471.73 points to close at 108,867.21 and the JSE combined index dropped 671.77 points to end at 101,050.04.

JMMB Group traded 1,957,370 shares to close 2 cents up at $7.52, Mayberry Investments ended with 200,000 shares changing hands to close at $3.40 for a gain of 52 cents, National Commercial Bank traded 980,250 shares to end with a decline of $1.25 at $28.75, Pan Jamaican gained 55 cents to end at $61.25 with 5,500 units changing hands. Radio Jamaica traded 20,000 shares unchanged at $3.01, Sagicor Group with 40,000 shares changing hands, closed 1 cent lower at $12.95, Sagicor Real Estate Fund with 76,290 shares closed 50 cents lower at $7.80. Scotia Group traded 200,000 units to close with a loss of $1.64 at $24.36, Supreme Ventures ended at $3.80 with 112,413 units to be up by 46 cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 499,600 units at $2.
55% repo rate hike pressuring TTSE
In Tuesday’s trading, 10 securities changed hands, one stock gained while the prices of 2 declined pulling down the TTSE two main indices and 7 traded with prices unchanged as a total of 428,778 shares traded, valued at $7,240,375. At the close, the Composite Index declined by 1.04 points to 1,142.48, the All T&T Index fell 2.21 points to 1,947.84 and the Cross Listed Index rose 0.02 points to 44.21.
Gains| Scotia Investments closed 2 cents higher with 30,000 shares changing hands at $1.53, to be the sole stock gaining.
Losses| Massy Holdings had 2,410 shares trading to end at $62.50, after shedding 51 cents and Trinidad Cement suffered a loss of 15 cents to close at $2.75 with 2,120 shares changing hands.
Firm Trades|, ANSA McAL contributed 26,740 shares with a value of $1,798,265 and closed at $67.25, Ansa Merchant Bank traded 984 units at $38.95, Clico Investment Fund traded 189,123 shares valued at $4,256,983 and closed at $22.50, First Citizens Bank had 9,285 shares changing hands valued at $324,975 and ended at $35. Guardian Media added 500 shares to close at $19.76, JMMB Group traded 122,958 shares to close at 42 cents and Sagicor Financial Corporation closed with 34,658 shares changing hands at $6, for a value of $207,948.

In overall trading Thursday on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange,15 securities changed hands, the price of 1 rose, 4 declined including 2 closing at a 52 weeks’ low and 10 traded with prices unchanged as a total of 174,395 shares traded, valued at $2,472,069.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index slid 2.06 points to 1,145.61, the All T&T Index fell 2.75 points to 1,954.54 and the Cross Listed Index fell 0.18 points to close at 44.15.
Gains| Clico Investment Fund traded 58,680 shares valued at $1,320,867 and closed 1 cent higher at $22.51.
Losses| ANSA McAL contributed 636 shares in trading, to close at $67.25 with the loss of a cent, JMMB Group traded 2,000 shares to close 4 cents down at 41 cents. National Enterprises with 827 shares changing hands, and lost 9 cents, to close at a 52 weeks’ low at $17 and Republic Bank suffered a loss of 1 cent to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $113.99 with 6,423 shares changing hands, at a value of $732,158.
Firm Trades| Angostura Holdings with 40 shares changing hands, closed at $14, Ansa Merchant Bank traded 446 units at $38.95, Grace Kennedy had 240 units changing hands at $3.50, Guardian Holdings added 2,000 shares to close at $12.90, Guardian Media traded 300 shares with the price remaining at $19.76. Massy Holdings traded 73 shares to close at $67.02, National Flour Mills with 51,250 shares traded and closed at $2.20, One Caribbean Media traded 100 shares with the price closing at $22.31, had 712 shares changing hands at $62.32 at the close and Trinidad Cement traded 50,668 at $2.90.

JSE drops Monday Morning
The Jamaica Stock market made moderate losses in the Monday morning session, at 11:15 am. In the process the All Jamaica Index trades at 111,329.50 having fallen by 286.48 points, JSE Market Index declined 256.31 points to 100,552.36. The combined index fell 217.09 points to be at 104,146.72 and the junior market index trades at 1,031.09, having gained 2.71 points.
Carreras dropped $1.50 to $50 with 84,690 shares, Gleaner Company traded 61,465 shares and fell 41 cents to $2.30. JMMB Group traded up to $7.99 with the company reporting strong increase in profit for the first quarter and Scotia Investments traded 9,157 units with decline of 69 cents to $27.30.
A total of 23 securities with a volume of only 865,541 units have traded with 10 stocks declining versus 5 that that rose. Trading saw 6 securities in the junior market changing hands with General Accident falling 14 cents in response to poor second quarter results.
