The Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Wednesday with main market indices rising with advancing and declining stocks evenly matched but with limited trading activity except for a 3 securities that had relatively high volumes. The market closed with 28 securities changing hands, resulting in 5,735,184 units trading, valued at $17,707,188, with 8 stocks rising, 8 declining in all market segments.
At the close, the JSE Market Index fell 245.83 points to 97,783.73. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index declined 274.77 points to 108,234.94 at support level on the downside and the JSE combined index fell 50.41 points to end at 101,002.73.

On offer between 48 and 55 cents, are 11 visible offers to sell 3.3 million shares. Caribbean Cement had 797,607 shares changing hands for a loss of 10 cents to $7.90, Carreras closed at $50.30 as the price gained 80 cents while 7,380 units traded. Desnoes & Geddes traded 50,000 shares but lost 40 cents in closing at $6, Grace Kennedy had 38,552 units changing hands at JSE fn qts 2-9-15$64, Jamaica Broilers closed at $5.60 with 43,741 shares changing hands as the stock lost 80 cents. Sagicor Group with 40,000 shares changing hands, closed with a loss of 43 cents at $12.57, Scotia Group traded 14,800 units to close with a gain of 26 cents at $24, Scotia Investments ended at $27 while only 8,000 units traded but the stock traded in Trinidad at the equivalent of J$29.50 and with a bid to buy over 320,000 units at the same price. Proven Investments ordinary share, traded 15,346 units at 21 US cents, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 53,016 units at $2 and Proven Investments 8% preference share traded 135,594 units at $4.90.

Losses| JMMB Group ended with a loss of 2 cents in trading 30,000 shares at 43 cents, Massy Holdings had just 80 shares trading at $62.49 with a loss of 1 cent and National Flour Mills with 51,040 shares changing hands, ended at $2.05 after shedding 4 cents.
Firm Trades|, Ansa McAl traded 460 units to end at $67.25, FirstCaribbean International Bank traded 1,298 shares and closed at $5, Grace Kennedy closed with 7,080 shares changing hands at $3.50, TTSE 1-9-15up-at-guardian-holdings/”>Guardian Holdings added 1,949 shares to close at $12.90. The market closed with a fairly high participation rate of 38 securities changing hands, resulting in 33,498,729 units trading, valued at $379,007,378 with only 6 stocks rising, 19 declining, in all market segments. The big jump in the level of trading took place with a switch in ownership to VMBS Wealth of the pension fund portfolio in stocks.
At the close, the JSE Market Index fell 262.83 points to 98,086.58. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index lost 293.77 points to close at 108,573.44 and the JSE combined index dropped 272.27 points to end at 100,777.77.

The sharp 55 percent rise in the central bank of Trinidad & Tobago repo rates since last year, continues to take a toll on prices of stocks listed on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange.
In Tuesday’s trading, 10 securities changed hands, one stock gained while the prices of 2 declined pulling down the TTSE two main indices and 7 traded with prices unchanged as a total of 428,778 shares traded, valued at $7,240,375. At the close, the Composite Index declined by 1.04 points to 1,142.48, the All T&T Index fell 2.21 points to 1,947.84 and the Cross Listed Index rose 0.02 points to 44.21.
Gains| Scotia Investments closed 2 cents higher with 30,000 shares changing hands at $1.53, to be the sole stock gaining.

The Jamaica Stock market made moderate losses in the Monday morning session, at 11:15 am. In the process the All Jamaica Index trades at 111,329.50 having fallen JSE Intra 17- 08-15by 286.48 points, JSE Market Index declined 256.31 points to 100,552.36. The combined index fell 217.09 points to be at 104,146.72 and the junior market index trades at 1,031.09, having gained 2.71 points.
Carreras dropped $1.50 to $50 with 84,690 shares, Gleaner Company traded 61,465 shares and fell 41 cents to $2.30. JMMB Group traded up to $7.99 with the company reporting strong increase in profit for the first quarter and Scotia Investments traded 9,157 units with decline of 69 cents to $27.30.
A total of 23 securities with a volume of only 865,541 units have traded with 10 stocks declining versus 5 that that rose. Trading saw 6 securities in the junior market changing hands with General Accident falling 14 cents in response to poor second quarter results.
