Calypso Macro Index Fund suffered another sharp fall of $2 to a 52 weeks’ low of $16 on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday but with a mere 10 units changing hands.
The stock which did not trade for a long time lost $2 when it traded for the second time in over a year on the May 23. Elsewhere market activity picked up sharply over the levels on Friday and ended with 738,852 shares valued at $6,383,542 compared to Friday’s trading of 168,587 shares valued at $1,793,714 and ended with 14 securities changing hands versus 13 on Friday, leading to 3 advancing, 6 declining and 5 remaining unchanged.
The Composite Index fell 3.48 points on Monday to 1,238.84, the All T&T Index shed 5.34 points to 1,725.28, while the Cross Listed Index fell 0.21 points to close at 101.16.

Losses| First Citizens closed with a loss of 1 cent and settled at $34.99, after exchanging 202 shares, Guardian Holdings closed with a loss of 68 cents and completed trading at $16.50, after exchanging 1,578 shares, JMMB Group shed 1 cent and concluded at $1.89, with 5,176 stock units changing hands, National Enterprises lost 15 cents, ending at $9.50, with 100 shares trading and Sagicor Financial ended trading 3 cents lower and ended at $7.97, with 121,664 units changing hands.

JSE trading back to normal – Friday

The volume of stocks trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped to 4,603,241 units valued at $166,353,769, well down from 170,209,058 units on Thursday valued at $3,113,335,699.
The main trades were Grace Kennedy with 1,462,365 units amounting to 31.77 percent of the day’s volume, followed by Sagicor Group with 1,357,691 units for 29.49 percent of total volume and Wisynco Group with 721,410 units and 15.67 percent of trade.
Market activities resulted in 25 securities trading, compared to 26 on Thursday, in the main and US markets. At the close, 7 securities gained, 10 declined and 8 traded firm and the All Jamaican Composite Index surged 3,607.57 points to 329,083.46 and the JSE Index jumped 3,286.90 points to close at 299,832.21.
Stocks with major price changes are, Caribbean Cement declining $1 to $39, Jamaica Broilers rising $2.81 to $21, Kingston Wharves down 90 cents to end at $46, NCB Financial Group trading at $96 after rising $1, Sagicor Group rallying $1.30 to $38.30 and Scotia Group advancing $1.05 to $51.05
Trading resulted in an average of 200,141 units valued at an average of $7,232,773 for each security traded, in contrast to 7,092,044 units for an average of $129,722,321 on Thursday. May closed with an average of 589,414 shares with a value of $16,532.367, for each security traded.
In the US dollar market, Productivity Business Solution, ordinary share finished trading with a fall of 1 cent, to 62 US cents, with 618 units trading and Proven Investments ended with 13,475 units trading with a loss of 2 cents to 20 US cents. The Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped sharply on Friday as declining stocks outpaced advancing ones by a wide margin as just 5 stocks rose, 15 declined and 8 traded firm.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 2,231.98 points to close at 323,425.19 and the JSE Index dived 2,033.58 points to close at 294,676.90. Market activities resulted in 28 securities trading, compared to 27 on Thursday, in the main and US dollar markets.
The market closed with reduced trading levels, as 7,330,113 units valued at $68,164,850 changed hands, well down from 28,791,979 units valued at $527,232,319 that traded on Thursday. The largest trades were Radio Jamaica with 2,329,526 shares for 31.8 percent of volume traded, 1834 Investments trading 2,253,420 shares accounting for 30.7 percent of the volume traded and Jamaica Broilers with 802,930 units.
Stocks with major price changes are, Grace Kennedy ended trading at $48.50, gaining 75 cents, Jamaica Broilers rose 74 cents to $20, Kingston Wharves fell $1.70 to $47, Sagicor Real Estate Fund settled with a loss of 85 cents at $13.90 and Scotia Group added $1.38 to close at $50.63.
Trading resulted in an average of 281,927 units valued at $2,621,725 compared to 1,107,384 units valued at an average of $20,278,166 for each security traded on Thursday. The average for the month to date is 335,057 shares with a value of $12,075,324, previously 338,126 shares with a value of $12,655,026.
