Junior Market stocks closed at a nother new high with gains of 29.5% for 2017 to date.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange after adding 71.57 points on Monday rose 34.71 points on Tuesday to a record close of 3,359.14 with gains of 29.5 percent for 2017 to date, with reduced trading levels compared to Monday’s levels.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 23 compared to 20 on Monday with 7 advancing and 7 declining. Overall, 3,285,925 units valued at $19,269,876 changed hands, compared to 5,640,429 units valued at $30,941,266 on Monday. Trading ended with 4 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 4 with lower offers. Just one stock ended trading at new closing high at the close of trading on Tuesday.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 142,866 units for an average value of $837,821, compared to 282,021 units for an average value of $1,547,063, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 90,668 units and $612,627, while at the close of the prior day, 85,923 units and $592,155. The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange surged 71.57 points end at 3,324.43 on Monday as four stocks traded during the day at new record highs as the level of trading climbs sharply over that on Friday.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 20 compared to 20 on Friday with 9 advancing and 7 declining. Overall, 5,640,429 units valued at $30,941,266 changed hands, compared to 1,367,990 units valued at $8,114,770 on Friday. The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed a record high on Monday following record close on Friday. The All Jamaica Composite Index advanced 213.39 points to close at a record 261,960.04 the JSE Market Index gained 194.42 points to finish at new record of 238,675.26 and the JSE US dollar market index lost 0.45 points to close at 218.32.
Trading levels in the main market ended at 4,670,861 units valued at $78,264,470 compared to 4,918,036 units valued at $117,841,841 at the close on Friday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 10,855 units valued at US$4,017. At the close, 28 securities changed hands in the main market and 3 in the US dollar market as 15 stocks advanced and 8 declined including 4 that traded at 52 weeks’ high during the day.

Prices on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed firmer on Friday than for some time now with the number of stocks having bids higher than the last selling overwhelming those with lower offers.
Trading closed with 13 securities changing hands compared to 12 on Thursday, resulting in 5 stocks advancing, 3 declining and 5 holding firm. Traded volume ended with 296,692 shares exchanged valued at $2,461,941 compared to Thursday’s 159,618 shares valued at $7,100,011.
The Composite Index advanced 0.37 points to 1,222.16, the All T&T Index gained 0.17 points to 1,799.30 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.08 points to close at 86.50.

Republic dominates trading on Thursday

Republic Financial Holdings had the largest value of trading on Thursday on the TTSE.

A moderate trading session ended on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with Republic Financial Holdings as the lead trade. Overall trading volume fell below that of Wednesday, with less than 200,000 shares changing hands.
With 12 securities changing hands compared to 15 on Wednesday, the market closed with 4 stocks advancing, 5 declining and 3 holding firm. A total of 159,618 shares were traded at a value of $7,100,011 compared to Wednesday’s 435,216 shares valued at $8,658,513.
The Composite Index fell 0.35 points to 1,221.79, the All T&T Index declined 0.40 points to 1,799.13 and the Cross Listed Index lost 0.04 points to close at 86.42.

Junior Market gains on Thursday

Jamaican Teas CEO, John Mahfood, the company stock closed at a new high on Thursday.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange rose on Thursday by 23.43 points to end at 3,279.58 but continues to trade less than 1 million shares daily.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 20 from 24 on Wednesday with 9 advancing and 3 declining. Overall, 830,850 units valued at 6,979,202 changed hands, compared to 979,578 units valued at $5,647,751 on Wednesday. Trading ended with 8 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 4 with lower offers. Three stocks ended trading at new closing highs. And one at an intraday high.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 41,543 units for an average value of $348,960, compared to 40,816 units for an average value of $235,323, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 66,772 units and $511,865, while at the close of the prior day, 69,926 units and $531,103. Jetcon Corporation jumped $2.25 and ended at record $15.50 with 97,862 shares trading, KLE Group lost 5 cents and ended at $2.85 with 1,630 shares changing hands, Knutsford Express traded 1,000 shares and shed 50 cents to end at $59.50. Lasco Financial lost 50 cents and ended with 2,938 shares changing hands at $4, Lasco Manufacturing rose 1 cent and closed at $5.13 while trading 17,600 shares, Main Event gained 20 cents and ended trading 34,462 shares at $7, Medical Disposables ended at $6.50 with 1,500 units trading, Paramount Trading shed 5 cents and ended with 192 shares changing hands at $3.10, Sweet River ended with 2,647 units changing hands at $3.50 and Derrimon Trading preference share, traded 48,600 units to end at $2.22.
