Juniors jump 71 points to record close

Lasco Financial traded at a new record high on Tuesday.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange surged 71.57 points end at 3,324.43 on Monday as four stocks traded during the day at new record highs as the level of trading climbs sharply over that on Friday.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 20 compared to 20 on Friday with 9 advancing and 7 declining. Overall, 5,640,429 units valued at $30,941,266 changed hands, compared to 1,367,990 units valued at $8,114,770 on Friday. Trading ended with 4 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 4 with lower offers. Two stocks ended trading at new closing highs and two traded at an intraday highs.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 282,021 units for an average value of $1,547,063, compared to 62,181 units for an average value of $368,853, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 85,923 units and $592,155, while at the close of the prior day, 66,313 units and $496,664. The average volume and value for April ended at 502,597 units and $2,768,003.
At the close of the market, AMG Packaging gained 1 cent to end at $4.66 with 22,494 units changing hands, Cargo Handlers fell 50 cents in trading just 177 shares at $20 Caribbean Cream closed trading with 36,063 changing hands, to close $1 down at $7.50, Caribbean Flavours traded 9,800 shares at $11, after rising 49 cents, Consolidated Bakeries rose 10 cents in trading 43,073 shares to close at $2.50, C2W Music had 31,500 units changing hands to close with a loss of 5 cents at 45 cents, Derrimon Trading fell 10 cents and ended at $7.60 with 24,800 shares changing hands, Dolphin Cove gained $1 to end at $21 with 4,900 shares trading, General Accident fell 24 cents and closed trading with 1,972,996 shares at $3.05, Honey Bun ended with 4,935 shares changing hands at $7.95, ISP Finance jumped $4 to end at record close of $28 with 46,731 units changing hands. Jamaican Teasclosed trading with 21,030 shares, with a gain of 20 cents at $4.95. Jetcon Corporationfell 74 cents to end at $15 with 205,492 shares trading, KLE Group lost 1 cent and ended at $2.69 with 1,000 shares changing hands, Knutsford Express closed with 1,377 shares trading to end at a record $68. Lasco Distributors ended with 1,281,181 units trading with a rise of 38 cents at $7.40, Lasco Financial jumped 90 cents and ended with 953,637 shares changing hands at a record $5.10, Lasco Manufacturing rose 22 cents and closed at $5.62 while trading 954,142 shares, Main Event ended trading 15,319 shares at $7, Sweet River ended at $3.50 with 19,482 units trading and tTech ended with 100 units changing hands at $7.50 after rising 50 cents.
