Modest Junior Market gains – Wednesday

The Junior Market index was steady at the close of trading on Wednesday with advancing stocks just out pacing declining ones with reduced volume and value.
At the close of market activities, 27 securities changed hands, compared to 28 on Tuesday, resulting in prices of 9 advancing, 8 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The market index rose just 4.75 points to close at 3,107.77.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 2,571,153 units valued at $11,256,502 compared to 8,807,543 units valued at $41,064,037 changing hands on Tuesday.
Trading ended with an average of 95,228 units for an average of $416,907 in contrast to 314,555 units for an average of $1,466,573 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 166,588 shares carrying a value of 759,004 compared to 199,807 units valued at $918,256 previously. In contrast, May closed with an average of 81,626 units for an average of $311,248 for each security traded.

Honey Bun finished 35 cents higher at $6, with an exchange of 38,490 shares, but traded at a 52 weeks’ intraday high of $6.50, iCreate settled at 80 cents, with 135,224 shares changing hands. Indies Pharma ended trading with 193,782 stock units, after losing 14 cents to close at $3.16, Iron Rock  traded 10 cents higher at $3.60, with an exchange of 66,000 units. Jamaican Teas  closed at $4.50, with 9,975 shares changing hands, Jetcon Corporation  ended 5 cents higher at $2, with 20,521 shares traded, KLE Group ended at $2.15, while trading 49,506 units, Lasco Distributors  ended trading with 71,313 shares at $3.50. Lasco Financial  exchanged 60,992 shares with a loss of 3 cents at $4.87,  Lasco Manufacturing  finished trading 158,687 stock units at $3.85,  Main Event  closed 10 cents higher at $5.90, with 16,600 units changing hands, Paramount Trading concluded trading of 100 shares and rose 10 cents to $2.20. SSL Venture Capital finished with a loss of 20 cents end at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.45, after exchanging 57,400 shares, Stationery and Office settled with a loss of 7 cents at $9.13, with an exchange of 52,600 stock units and tTech traded at $5.70, with 334 shares changing hands.

More record close for JSE main market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange chalked up its eighth consecutive record close on Tuesday as advancing stocks out did losers almost three to one.
JSE All Jamaican Composite Index jumped 1,998.21 points to a record close of 477,318.18 and the JSE Index climbed 1,815.85 points to another record close of 434,745.57.
 At the close market activity, on the main and US markets, the prices of 20 securities advanced, 9 declined and 4 traded firm as a total of 33 securities traded compared to 35 on Monday. Market activity ended with 30,804,536 units valued at $160,506,295, in contrast to 35,155,198 units valued $264,904,598 on Tuesday.
Wigton Windfarm continues to dominate trading since listing in late May and closed with just 25.3 million shares and 82 percent of total trades, followed by Supreme Ventures with 2.46 million and 8 percent of the day’s trades and Carreras with just over 1 million units for 3.4 percent of volume traded.
The market closed with average of 993,695 units valued at an average of $5,177,622 for each security traded. In contrast to 1,033,976 units for an average of $7,791,312 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,014,765 units valued $6,544,783. May closed with average of 2,248,261 units at an average of $12,751,529 for each security traded.

Mayberry Jamaican Equities exchanged 47,989 shares after rising 65 cents to close at $12.35, NCB Financial Group  finished trading 22,975 shares at a record closing high of $168, after rising $1, PanJam Investment  concluded trading with 2,154 shares but lost 60 cents to end at $95.50. Sagicor Group  traded 299,516 units and gained 30 cents to close at $48.50, Seprod climbed $1.95 to end at $49.95, in trading 125,881 shares and Supreme Ventures  gained $1 and settled at $31, with 655,299 shares trading.
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 54,482 units valued $20,746 changing hands. Market activity ended with  JMMB Group 5.75% concluded trading of 3,782 units to finish at US$2 and Proven Investments closed with 50,700 units with a fall of 1 cent at 26 US cents.  The JSE USD Equities Index shed 3.74 points to close at 191.64.

Junior Market gives up some gains – Tuesday

Having enjoyed two days of strong gains, the Junior Market index gave back some of the gains despite advancing stocks out numbering declining ones on Tuesday.
At the close of market activities, 28 securities changed hands, compared to 30 on Monday, resulting in prices of 13 advancing, 9 declining and 6 remaining unchanged leaving the index falling 15.27 points to close at 3,103.02.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 8,807,543 units valued $41,064,037 compared to 2,781,261 units valued at $12,194,821 changing hands on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 314,555 units for an average of $1,466,573 in contrast to 92,709 units for an average of $406,494 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 199,807 valued at $918,256. In contrast, April closed with an average of 81,626 units for an average of $311,248 for each security traded.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday with modest changes in the market indices after advancing beat out declining stocks 2 to 1.
At close of the market, the Composite Index gained 1.65 points to 1,358.57. The All T&T Index rose 3.12 points to 1,798.64, while the Cross Listed Index inched 0.02 points higher to close at 123.97.
The market closed with 16 securities trading compared to 16 on Monday, leading to 8 advancing, 4 declining and 4 remaining unchanged as 361,346 shares valued $3,021,802 changed hands, compared to 196,162 shares valued $3,021,802, on Monday.

Seven days of unbroken records

Seven straight record close for JSE main market.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday continue its record run with seven unbroken record close, but it just made it as declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones by a gig margin.
At the close the  JSE All Jamaican Composite Index inched just 29.46 points to end at a record close of 475,319.97 and the JSE Index edged higher by a mere 26.77 points to a record 432,929.72.
At the close market activity, on the main and US markets with the prices of just 8 securities advancing, 18 falling and traded firm as a total of compared to 35 securities trading on Friday. Market activity ended with 35,155,198 units valued at $264,904,598, in contrast to 146,738,895 shares valued at $319,460,370 on Friday.
Wigton Windfarm continues to dominate trading since listing in late May, to end with trading of 18.3 million shares and 52 percent of total trades, followed by Sagicor Real Estate Fund with 8.1 million and 23 percent of the day’s trades. Mayberry Jamaican Equities was next with 4.8 million units for 13.7 percent of volume traded and Jamaica Producers trading 1 million shares.

Trading in the US securities market resulted in 48,124 units valued at $13,856 changing hands. Market activity ended with  JMMB Group 6% concluded trading of 2,540 units to finish at US$1.06, Proven Investments closed with 38,429 units with a rise of 2 cents at 26.99 US cents and Sygnus Credit Investments rose 1 cents to end at 12 US cents in trading 7,155 shares. The severely undervalued Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed with another high double-digit gain on Monday, similar to Friday’s strong advance, with the index rising 41.06 points to close at 3,118.29.
At the close of market activities, 30 securities changed hands, compared to 26 on Friday, resulting in prices of 11 securities advancing, 9 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 2,781,261 units valued at $12,194,821 compared to 2,959,240 units valued at $11,853,904 changing hands on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 92,709 units for an average of $406,494 in contrast to 113,817 units for an average of $455,919 on Friday.  In contrast, April closed with an average of 81,626 units for an average of $311,248 for each security traded.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Monday with modest changes in the market indices hardly after advancing and declining stocks were deadlocked at 4 each.
At close of the market, the Composite Index gained 1.64 point higher to 1,356.92. The All T&T Index lost 0.67 points to 1,795.52, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.55 points to close at 123.95.
The market closed with 16 securities trading compared to 15 on Friday, leading to 4 advancing, 4 declining and 8 remaining unchanged as 196,162 shares valued $3,021,802 changed hands, compared to 126,457 shares valued $2,247,280, on Friday.

Lasco stocks bow out of IC TOP 10

Lasco Manufacturing that IC Insider last week suggested readers keep a keen eye on, reported outstanding full year results and climbed 18.5 percent to $3.85 on Friday, exit the Junior Market IC Insider.com’s TOP 10.
Lasco Financial came in with full year results that were above the 2018 figures and the price moved up to $5. IC Insider downgraded 2020 earnings to 60 cents per share, the combination of the two changes, pushed the stock outside the TOP 10, Jetcon is the third stock to move out of the top tier. Coming in to replace the above are CAC 2000, Everything Fresh and Consolidated Bakeries, all three newcomers have been having challenges with growing profits.
Carreras reported flat profits for the year to March resulting in downgrading of 2020 profits, with the stock no longer in the TOP 10, also leaving is Caribbean Cement with the price recovering during the week to close at $78, the two are replaced by Stanley Motta and Sygnus Credit Investments.
The three leading Junior Market stocks for the coming week are, Caribbean Producers with projected gains of 272 percent, followed by Iron Rock with likely gains of 243 percent and Medical Disposables with possible gains of 233 percent.
Sterling Investments with potential gains of 174 percent leads main market stocks, followed by Radio Jamaica with 159 percent and VM Investments in third spot with the potential to gain 141 percent within twelve months.
The main market, closed the week with the overall PE at 14.8 and the Junior Market at 11.1. The PE ratio for Junior Market Top 10 stocks averages 6.8 and the main market PE 9. These levels, point to a big upside for TOP 10 stocks over the next 12 months and Junior Market stocks in particular.
The TOP 10 stocks now trade at an average discount of 39 percent to the average for the Junior Market Top stocks and main market stocks trade at a discount of 39 percent to the overall market.
TOP 10 stocks are likely to deliver the best returns within a 12 months period. Projected earnings, for each company’s current fiscal year, are used in determining, the selected stocks. The PE for and projected earnings for each stock are computed to show potential gains for the year, which are ranked in descending order. The Junior Market index advanced 41.20 points to close at 3,077.23 on Friday as heavy weight Lasco Manufacturing rose 18.5 percent and Express Catering recover some lost ground in adding 50 cents with advancing stocks beating those declining two to one.
At the close of market activities, 26 securities changed hands, compared to 32 on Thursday, resulting in prices of 11 rising, 6 declining and 9 remaining unchanged.

Rising stocks dominate TTSE – Friday

Advancing stocks outnumbered losers on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday after resuming from a one day break, with the market indices hardly changing.
At close of the market, the Composite Index inched 0.01 point higher to 1,355.28 with a rise of 4 percent for the year to date. The All T&T Index rose 1.20 points to 1,796.19, in recording a year to date gain to 5.34 percent, while the Cross Listed Index fell 0.17 points to close at 123.40 to be up just 1.5 percent for the year so far.
The market closed with 15 securities trading compared to 16 on Wednesday, leading to 5 advancing, 2 declining and 8 remaining unchanged as 126,457 shares valued $2,247,280 changed hands, compared to 555,380 shares valued $7,981,829, on Wednesday.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer ended with 3 stocks with a higher bid than their last selling prices and 3 with lower offers.
Stocks ending with gains| At the close of the market, Clico Investments gained 5 cents and completed trading 13,367 units, at $23.45, Massy Holdings rose 20 cents and ended at $54.95, with 1,790 stock units changing hands. National Enterprises gained 5 cents to settled at $6.80, after exchanging 763 shares, Republic Financial Holdings added 2 cents to end at $121.12, with 2,194 stock units changing hands and Trinidad & Tobago NGL gained 45 closed at $28.50, after exchanging 12,965 shares.
