At the close, investors exchanged 1,582,639 units valued at $10,125,399 compared to 1,829,747 units valued at $8,214,344 on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 54,574 units for an average of $349,152 in contrast to 76,239 units for an average of $342,264 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,503,456 units valued at $3,331,836 and previously 1,650,303 units valued at $3,636,406 for each security traded. In contrast, August ended with an average of 232,398 units valued at $1,072,851 for each traded security.

Majority of TTSE stocks closed firm

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Monday with trading in 16 securities against 13 on Friday, with 2 advancing, 2 declining and 12 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index lost 0.98 points to end at 1,390.85. The All T&T Index fell 1.44 points to 1,748.55, while the Cross Listed Index declined 0.07 points to close at 139.98.
Trading ended with just 43,050 shares at a value of $1,201,598, compared to 291,395 shares at a value of $6,173,837 shares on Friday.

JSE main market index rise – Friday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Friday with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index rising 1,052.67 points to 564,753.60 even as declining stocks exceeded those rising.
The JSE Index climbed 890.78 points to 514,182.55 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.24 points to close at 140.23. At the close of trading, 9 advanced, 13 declined and 14 traded firm as  36 securities in the main and US market compared to 37 on Thursday. Trading in the main market ended with 23,486,112 units valued at $198,066,208, in contrast to 18,740,935 units valued at over $117,219,686 on Thursday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 11.6 million shares for 49 percent of total volume, followed Sagicor Select Fund with 9 million units accounting for 39 percent of the day’s trade and NCB Financial Group with 553,993 shares for 2 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 671,032 units valued at an average of $5,659,034 for each security traded. In contrast to 506,512 units for an average of $3,168,100 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 744,783 units valued at $6,659,753 and units previously 752,201 units valued at $6,771,654 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

Sagicor Group fell $1.49 to settle at $71.01 with 6,406 shares changing hands, Salada Foods fell 50 cents to close at $32 with an exchange of 3,571 shares, Seprod lost 50 cents to settle at $54 with 64,415 shares changing hands and Sygnus Credit Investments rose $1 in trading 214,718 shares at $25.
The JSE USD Equities Index closed at 190.71 as Sygnus Credit Investments was the only stock trading in the market with 190,000 units valued at US$28,500 to close at 15 US cents.

More declines for JSE main market – Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Thursday with The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index dropping 4,474.99 points to end at 563,700.93, the JSE Index declined by 3,932.73 points to 513,291.77.
The JSE Financial Index fell 1.84 points to close at 139.99. At the close of trading, 17 advanced, 15 declined and 5 traded firm as a total of 39 securities traded in the main and US markets compared to 36 securities trading on Wednesday. Market activity ended with 18,740,935 units valued at over $117,219,686, in contrast to 50,725,660 units valued at $109,446,038 on Wednesday.
Sagicor Select Fund led trading with 11.8 million shares for 63 percent of total volume, followed Wigton Windfarm with 3 million units accounting for 16 percent of the day’s trade and JMMB Group 7.50% preference share with 1 million shares for 5 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 506,512 units valued at an average of $3,168,100 for each security traded. In contrast to 1,449,305 units for an average of $3,127,030 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 752,201 units valued at $6,771,654 and previously 781,431 units valued at an average of $7,254,739.

The Junior Market Index made a partial recovery on Thursday from the big 73 points fall on Wednesday and rose 41.16 points to close at 3,482.98 but with an equal number of stocks rising and falling.
The market ended trading with 26 securities changing hands and leading to the prices of 10 securities advancing, 10 falling and 6 remaining unchanged. Investors exchanged 2,691,652 shares valued at $16,496,762 compared to 2,931,663 units valued at $14,603,294 trading from 31 securities on Wednesday.

Near 50% of TTSE stocks rose – Thursday

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange resulted in a near 50 percent dominance of stocks gaining at the close of trading on Thursday but on sharply reduced trading volumes.
At the close, 15 securities changed hands against 14 on Wednesday and ended with 7 advancing, 2 declining and 6 remaining unchanged and leading to 141,949 shares valued $1,220,367 crossing the exchange compared to 231,149 shares valued $4,007,898 on Wednesday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index increased 2.06 points to 1,390.62. The All T&T Index rose 1.37 points to 1,747.92, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.38 points to close at 140.01.

More decline for JSE main market – Wednesday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market closed down on Wednesday, with advancing outpaced by declining stocks for the second consecutive day as some investors seek cash to buy into a new IPO that is on offer in the market.
The market ended, with 36 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 11 advancing, 15 declining and 10 trading to close with no price change, compared to 35 securities trading on Tuesday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 560.38 points to close at 568,175.92, the JSE Index shed 594.41 points to 517,224.50 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.24 points to end at 141.83.
Market activity led to 50,725,660 units valued at $109,446,038 changing hands, in contrast to 25,607,960 units valued at $336,490,907 crossing the main market on Tuesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 30.8 million shares for 61 percent of total volume, followed by Sagicor Select Fund with 10.4 million units accounting for 21 percent of the day’s trade and JMMB Group 7.5% preference share with 6.7 million shares for 12 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average of 1,449,305 units valued at an average of $3,127,030 for each security traded. In contrast to 800,249 units valued at an average of $10,515,341 on Tuesday, for each security traded on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 81,431 shares valued at $7,254,739 for every security traded, compared to 696,737 shares valued at $7,854,199 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

Trading in the US securities market resulted in 1,000,000 units valued at US$150,000 changing hands with Sygnus Credit Investments being the sole stock trading to close at 15 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index rose 0.09 points to end at 194.45.

Junior Market suffers sharp drop – Wednesday

Prices declined across the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday with 31 securities changing hands and leading to the prices of 4 securities advancing, 20 falling and 7 remaining unchanged with the Junior Market Index diving 72.87 points to 3,441.82.
Investors exchanged 2,691,652 shares valued at $16,496,761.57 compared to 2,931,663 units valued at $14,603,294 trading from 29 securities on Tuesday.  The selloff in the market that comes with the release of the prospectus on Monday for the sale of shares in QWI Investments, is consistent with recent trends as some investors seek funds to invest new share issue.
Trading ended with an average of 86,827 units for an average of $532,154 in contrast to 101,092 units for an average of $503,562 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,967,767 units valued at $4,243,153 and previously 2,255,004 units valued at $4,809,858 for each security traded.
