JSE Main Market drops

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Thursday, with the market declining after more stocks fell than rose after investors exchanged 50 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index shed 1,900.02 points to settle at 401,910.62, the Main Index declined by 1,720.64 points to close at 366,825.76 and the JSE Financial Index shed 0.39 points to settle at 96.76.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands compared to 43 on Wednesday and closed with the prices of 14 stocks rising, the prices of 21 declining and eight remaining unchanged and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 11,372,477 shares for  $74,529,571  compare to 22,689,448 units at $201,190,246 on Wednesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 5.58 million shares for 49 percent of total volume followed by QWI Investments with 2.11 million units for 18.5 percent of the day’s trade and Transjamaican Highway with 1.33 million units for 11.7 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 264,476 units changing hands at $1,733,246 for each security, in comparison to an average of 527,662  shares at $4,678,843 on Wednesday. The average trade for the month to date  ended at 441,102 units at $2,920,753 for each security, in contrast to 451,449 units at $2,990,321. Trading month to date is well ahead of July with an average of 392,128 shares for $2,444,356.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows nine stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Barita Investments dropped 90 cents to close at $53.20, with 5,447 stock units crossing the market, Caribbean Cement advanced $3.63 in ending at $47.63 while exchanging 3,967 shares, First Rock Capital shed 40 cents to close at $12.50 with investors switching ownership of 1,997 units. Grace Kennedy carved out a gain of $1.44 in closing at $56.45, with an exchange of 3,254 shares, Jamaica Broilers Group fell 80 cents to $24 with 62,057 stock units changing hands, Jamaica Producers Group advanced $1 to end at $21 in trading 414 units. Jamaica Stock Exchange lost $1.47 to end at $17.53 after trading 46,764 units, JMMB Group carved out a loss  50 cents to close at $30, with 44,422 stocks crossing the market, Kingston Properties shed 40 cents in closing at $7.20 with an exchange of 169 stock units. Kingston Wharves rose 95 cents to close at $50 in exchanging 572,067 stocks, NCB Financial Group dropped $3.97 to end at $136.01 after trading 158,851 shares, Palace  Amusement dropped by $50 in closing at $1700 crossing the market one stocks. PanJam Investment gained $6  to end at $71 in trading 1,520 stocks, Proven Investments advanced 40 cents to $36.50  with investors swapping 20,001 stock units, Sagicor Group shed 50 cents to close at  $45 after exchanging 18,139 units. Scotia Group dropped by $2.50 in ending at $47,  with an exchange of 112,320 shares and Victoria Mutual Investments gained 40 cents and closed $6.90, with investors switching ownership of 117,840 units.

Trading jumps 72% on JSE USD market

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Thursday, with stocks rising after investors traded 72 percent more shares than on Wednesday, resulting in more security rising than falling. 
At the close of the market, trading ended with six securities changing hands compared to three on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of four stocks rising, one declining and one remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index gained 4.9 points to settle at 186.07, with the average PE Ratio ending at 12.9 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,071,941 shares, accounting for  US$250,003 compared to 624,714 units at US$41,209 on Wednesday. The average trade for the day amounted to 178,657  units changing hands at US$41,667, in contrast to an average of 208,238 shares at  US$13,736 on  Wednesday. Trading ended with an average of 85,640  units for the month to date at US$7,270 in contrast to 78,996 units at US$4,813 previously. By comparison, July ended with an average of 133,150 units for US$18,282.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows two stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
At the close of the market, First Rock Capital Investment gained half a cent to close at 9 US cents after trading 36,962 shares, Proven Investments climbed 0.79 of a cent in closing at 24.8 US cents with 1,024,551 stocks changing hands. Sygnus Credit Investments climbed half of a US cent to close at 13.5 US cents with 200 shares traded and Transjamaican Highway rose 0.09 of a cent to settle at nine-tenths of a US cent with 10,000 stocks crossing the exchange.
In the preference share segment of the USD market, Equityline Mortgage Investment preference share fell one cent to finish at US$1.96 in an exchange of 200 shares and JMMB Group 6% ended at US$1 with investors switching ownership of just 28 stock units.

T&T exchange closes higher again

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange rose on Thursday, with investors trading 600 percent more shares than on Wednesday, resulting in more stocks rising than falling at the close, with locally based stock recording gains in the market index each day since Monday.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading, with the prices of five stocks advancing, four declining and the prices of seven ended unchanged.  The market activity resulted in 273,269 shares valued at $4,126,089 changing hands, compared to 38,812 shares for $1,612,168 from 12 securities on Wednesday.
The average trade on Wednesday is 17,079 units for $257,881, versus an average of 3,234 stock units for $134,347 for each security. An average of 14,500 units traded at $373,250 for the month to date versus  14,330 units at $396,799. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index gained 1.51 points to 1,323.46, the All T&T Index added 4.58 points to 1,795.20, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.22 points to close at 115.05.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than its last selling price and two with lower offers.
Stocks rising Angostura Holdings gained $1.34, to close at $16.30, after exchanging 590 units, Clico Investments picked up 3 cents to finish at 27.78, after trading 15,035 stock units, Guardian Holdings added 2 cents to end at $19.50, in an exchange of 1,302 units. Grace Kennedy rose 5 cents in exchanging 100,192 shares to close at $3.50 and Point Lisas ended 10 cents higher at $3.10, with 16,856 stock units changing hands.
Stocks declining Agostini’s lost 1 cent trading 500 units to settle at $24.99, First Citizens Bank ended 10 cents lower at $46, in transferring 1,200 units. JMMB Group closed at a 52 weeks low of $1.75, with a loss of 5 cents, in exchanging 51,435 shares and West Indian Tobacco finished at $36.65, after losing 5 cents trading 123 units.
Stocks trading firmFirst Caribbean International Bank traded 300 units at $7, Guardian Media exchanged 2,122 units at $5, NCB Financial Group held firm at $8, with 38,500 shares crossing the market. National Flour transferred 10,052 stock units at $1.85, Republic Financial Holdings closed at $141.50, in exchanging 17,458 stock units, Trinidad and Tobago NGL remained at $17, after trading 7,533 units and Unilever Caribbean closed with 10,071 units changing hands at $17.

Junior Market moves up over Tuesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, with the market rising as more stocks fell than rose after investors traded 10 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading concluded with 34 securities changing hands compared to 31 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 17 stocks rising, the prices of 12  declining and five with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 26.41 points to settle at 2,564.59. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of  2,584,097 shares for $13,160,131 compared to 2,347,642  units at $7,227,746 on Tuesday.
Express Catering led trading with 686,413 shares for 26.6 percent of total volume followed by Caribbean Flavours with 316,756 units for 12.3 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 227,636 units for 8.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 76,003 units at $387,063 in contrast to 75,730 at $233,153 on Tuesday. The month to date, average trade resulted in an exchange of 111,413 units at $338,882, in comparison to 113,855 units at $335,560 on Tuesday. Trading in  July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

At the close of the market, Access Financial lost $3.92 to settle at $20.08 with investors trading 2,828 shares, AMG Packaging gained 15 cents to end at $1.70 with an exchange of 1,500 stock units,  Blue Power slipped 1 cent to $3.06 with 35,984 shares traded. Caribbean Assurance Brokers gained 14 cents to close at $2.05 with 1,500 units changing hands, Caribbean Cream added 2 cents to end at $3.97 with an exchange of 5,789 stock units. Caribbean Flavours dropped $1.01 to finish at  $18.49 in trading 316,756 units, Consolidated Bakeries declined by 9 cents to close at $1.36 with  76,000 stock units crossing the market, Derrimon Trading fell 29 cents to $2.51 with investors switching ownership of 8,050 stocks. Everything Fresh rose 6 cents and traded 2,900 stock units to settle at 71 cents, Express Catering finished 5 cents higher at $4 with 686,413 units passing through the market, Fontana lost 12 cents and exchanged 227,636 units to settle at $4.82. Fosrich slipped 5 cents to close at $3.70, with 2,327 units changing hands, General Accident advanced 5 cents to end at $6.34  with investors transferring 11,000 shares, Honey Bun gained 1 cent to finish at $5.10  with investors switching ownership of 2,285 units. iCreate increased by 2 cents to close at 70 cents with  15,331 stock units traded, Indies Pharma gained 7 cents in the exchange of 74,978 stock units to settle at $2.82, Jamaican Teas fell 4 cents to finish at $4.90  with 43,715 stock units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation closed 2 cents higher at 84 cents in the exchange of 33,751 shares, Lasco  Distributors lost 9 cents to end at$3.15 with investors switching ownership of 63,559 units, Lasco Financial traded 163,583 stock units and fell 7 cents to settle at $2.09. Lasco Manufacturing gained 9 cents to finish at $3.98 with 33,050 shares traded, Limners and Bards traded 133,577 stocks and advanced 23 cents to close at $2.51, Lumber Depot ended 5 cents higher at $1.05 with investors transferring 92,005 stock units.  Mailpac Group exchanged 217,089 stocks and gained 3 cents to settle at $2, Main Event declined by 10 cents to finish at $3.40 with investors switching ownership of  7,198 stock units, Medical Disposables lost 10 cents to end at $5 with 52,970 stock units traded. Stationery and Office Supplies climbed 20 cents to close at $5.80, with investors transferring 142 shares and tTech advanced by 8 cents to settle at $5.49  with 2,948 units crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% fell 17 cents in ending at $1.03 in an exchange of 500 shares.

JSE USD market slips on moderate trading

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Wednesday in another moderate session, with the market declining after investors traded 169 percent more shares than on Tuesday, resulting in more stocks falling than rising. 
At the close of the market, trading ended with three securities changing hands compared to five on Tuesday and ended with the price of one stock rising and the prices of two declining.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 3.96 points to settle at 181.17, with the average PE Ratio ending at 12.5 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 624,714 shares, accounting for US$41,209 compared to 232,191 units at US$4,209 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 208,238 units changing hands at  US$13,736, in contrast to an average of 46,438 shares at US$842  on Tuesday. Trading ended, with an average of 78,996  units for the month to date at US$4,813 in contrast to 74,209 units at  US$4,482. By comparison, July ended with an average of 133,150 units for US$18,282.

Rebound for JSE Main market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Wednesday with the market recovering some of Tuesday’s losses, with an equal number of stocks rising and falling after investors exchanged 3 percent more shares than Tuesday and 33 percent less in value.

Eppley closed at a 52 weeks’ high on Wednesday.

At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index rose 3,138.65 points to settle at 403,810.64, the Main Index carved out a gain of 2,872.53 points to settle at 368,546.40, the JSE Financial Index increased 0.60 points to settle at 97.15.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands compared to  40  securities on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 18 stocks rising, the prices of 18 stocks declining and seven remaining unchanged and the average  PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.5 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 22,689,448 shares for $201,190,246 compared to  15,897,876 units at $260,424,238 on Tuesday.
Transjamaican Highway led trading with 11.06 million shares for 48.8 percent of total volume followed by Sagicor Real Estate Fund with 5.38 million units for 23.7 percent of the day’s trade,  QWI Investments with 1.55 million units for 6.8 percent market share and Wigton Windfarm ended with 1.17 million shares changing hands for 5 percent of total shares changing hands.
Trading ended with an average of 527,662 units changing hands for the day at  $4,678,843 for each security, in comparison to an average of 397,447 shares at $6,510,606 on Tuesday. The average trade for the month to date ended at  451,449  units at $2,990,347 for each security, in contrast to 446,707 units at $2,885,266. Trading month to date compares exceeds, July with an average of 392,128 shares for  $2,444,356.

At the close of the market, Caribbean Cement climbed $2.99 to close at $44, with  205,670 shares passing through the market, Carreras lost 50 cents to end at $6.08 in exchanging 110,391 stock units, Eppley rose 99 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ high of $22.99 with an exchange of 903 units. Eppley Caribbean Property Fund gained 50 cents to end at $50 after 6,411 units passed through the market, Grace Kennedy carved out a loss $1.48 to settle at $55.01, with 99,348 stocks passing through the market,  Jamaica Broilers Group gained $1.30 to end at  $24.80 in exchanging 6,351 stock units. Jamaica Stock Exchange lost 80 cents to settle at $19 after 23,485 stocks crossed the exchange,  MPC Caribbean Clean Energy shed $5 to close at $150 in an exchange of 66 shares, NCB Financial Group gained  $1.48 in closing at $139.98, trading 728,385 stocks. Proven  Investments dropped by $1.90 in closing at $36.10, with  700 stock units changing hands, Sagicor Group gained $1.45 to close at $45.50, after 266,558 stocks passed through the market, Scotia Group jumped $4.50 to close at $49.50 with an exchange of 36,229 stock units and Seprod advanced by $2.99 in closing at $54 and exchanging 7,026 shares.

TTSE in big jump

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Wednesday, with a strong rise for some stock prices, with the day’s volume amounted to a mere 9 percent of the shares changing hands on Tuesday.
The market closed with twelve securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, three declining and six unchanged.  The T&T Composite Index climbed 6.68 points to 1,321.95 and the All T&T Index jumped 13.86 points to 1,790.62, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.08 points to close at 115.27.
The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 38,812 shares valued at $1,611,856 compared to 439,247 shares for $23,292,329 on Tuesday from 18 securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 3,234 units at $134,321 versus an average of 24,403 stock units for $1,294,018 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,330 shares at $396,797, versus an average of 14,909 units at $410,492. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

Slippage for JSE USD Market

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Tuesday, with the market slipping after investors traded 33 percent more shares than on Monday, resulting in an even number of stocks rising and falling. 
At the close of the market, trading ended with five securities changing hands compared to six on  Monday and closed with the prices of two stocks rising,  two declining and one remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 2.65 points to settle at 185.13, with the average PE Ratio ending at 12.8 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 232,191 shares, accounting for US$4,209  compared to 175,169 units at US$65,991 on Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 46,438 units changing hands for just an average of US$842, in contrast to an average of 29,195 shares at  US$10,998 on Monday. Trading ended, with an average of 74,209 units for the month to date at US$4,482 in contrast to 76,036 units at  US$4,722. By comparison, July ended with an average of 133,150  units for US$18,282.

Trading jumps on TTSE on Tuesday

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday, with prices mostly slipping after investors exchanged 60 percent more shares than on Monday, with more than five times the value.

The market closed with eighteen securities trading with the prices of two stocks advancing, six declining and ten remaining unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 439,247 shares valued at $23,292,329 compared to 273,047 shares for $4,226,887 on Monday from 15 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 24,403 units at $1,294,018 versus an average of 18,203 stock units for $281,792 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,909 shares at $410,492, versus an average of 14,103 units at $335,475. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 2.22 points to 1,315.27. The All T&T Index rose 0.36 points to 1,776.76, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.66 points to close at 115.35.

Point Lisas ended at $3, with a loss of 10 cents transferring 1,463 units, Trinidad Cement lost 9 cents to finish at $2.01, with 5,000 stock units changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL dropped $1.99 to settle at $17, after exchanging 5,216 stock units.

Junior Market ekes out modest gain

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market inching higher, even after more stocks fell than rose as investors traded 31 percent fewer shares at 51 percent less value than on Monday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 27 on Monday and ended with the prices of 11 stocks rising, the prices of 16 declining and four with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 10.06 points to settle at 2,538.18. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,347,642 shares for $7,227,746  compared to 3,397,455  units at $14,814,214 on Monday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 563,033 shares for 24 percent of total volume followed by iCreate  with 321,388 units for 13.7 percent of the day’s trade and Limners and Bards with 274,649 units for 11.7 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 75,730 units at $233,153 in contrast to 125,832 at  $548,675 on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 113,855 units at   $335,559, in comparison to 116,414 units at $342,431 on Monday. Trading in July resulted in an average trade of 248,153  units at $668,727.

At the close of the market, Access Financial rose 50 cents to end at $24 in the exchange of 100 shares, AMG Packaging lost 18 cents to settle at $1.55 with 100 stock units traded, Blue Power slipped 3 cents to $3.07 with investors transferring  3,000 stocks. Caribbean Assurance Brokers declined by 15 cents to finish at $1.91 with 7,329 stock units changing hands, Caribbean Cream dropped 79 cents to close at $3.95 with investors switching ownership of 36,221 stocks, Caribbean Flavours jumped $4.50 to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $19.50 with 75,568 stock units traded. Caribbean Producers fell 5 cents to settle at $2.40 with an exchange of 18,465 units, Derrimon Trading  advanced by 9 cents to finish at $2.80 with 229,069 stock units changing hands,  Elite Diagnostic lost 10 cents to end at $3 with investors transferring 23,585  units. Everything Fresh closed 2 cents higher at 65 cents with 30,537 units crossing the market, Express Catering fell 5 cents to finish at $3.95 with investors exchanging 67,408 shares,  Fontana slipped 4 ents to $4.94 with 47,073 shares traded.  General Accident shed 70 cents to settle at $6.29 with investors switching ownership of 11,775 stocks, Honey Bun climbed 26 cents to close at $5.09 with a mere 10 units changing hands, iCreate finished 1 cent higher at 68 cents with 321,388 units crossing the market. Indies Pharma declined by 5 cents in exchanging 27,770 stock units to close at $2.75, Iron Rock Insurance advanced 40 cents to end at $3.20, in trading 24,000 shares, Jamaican Teas rose 29 cents to close at $4.94 with 154,886 units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation fell 4 cents to settle at 82 cents in an exchange of  48,603 stocks, Lasco  Distributors advanced 24 cents to finish at $3.24 with 70,312 units traded, Lasco Manufacturing gained 9 cents to end at $3.89 with investors transferring 20 units.  Limners and Bards exchanged 274,649 shares and dropped 38 cents to close at $2.28, Lumber Depot slipped 2 cents to $1 with investors switching ownership of 20,000 stock units, Mailpac Group declined by 10 cents to settle at $1.97 with 563,033 units traded. Main Event increased 10 cents to close at $3.50  with investors transferring 6,284 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 19 cents to finish at $5.60 in the trading of 124,072 stocks and tTech fell 9 cents to settle at $5.41 with 25,878  shares crossing the exchange.
