Trading jumps on TTSE on Tuesday

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday, with prices mostly slipping after investors exchanged 60 percent more shares than on Monday, with more than five times the value.

The market closed with eighteen securities trading with the prices of two stocks advancing, six declining and ten remaining unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 439,247 shares valued at $23,292,329 compared to 273,047 shares for $4,226,887 on Monday from 15 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 24,403 units at $1,294,018 versus an average of 18,203 stock units for $281,792 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,909 shares at $410,492, versus an average of 14,103 units at $335,475. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 2.22 points to 1,315.27. The All T&T Index rose 0.36 points to 1,776.76, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.66 points to close at 115.35.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than its last selling price and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising National Flour gained 5 cents in exchanging 150 units to finish at $1.85 and Republic Financial Holdings climbed $1.50 to $141.50 trading 147,819 shares.
Stocks declining Angostura Holdings shed 38 cents, ending at $14.96 in transferring 600 units, JMMB Group slipped 10 cents to close a 52 weeks’ low of $1.80, with 135,311 shares crossing the market, Massy Holdings dropped $1.95 to $58.05, after trading 18 units. Point Lisas ended at $3, with a loss of 10 cents transferring 1,463 units, Trinidad Cement lost 9 cents to finish at $2.01, with 5,000 stock units changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL dropped $1.99 to settle at $17, after exchanging 5,216 stock units.
Stocks trading firmAgostini’s was unchanged at $25 trading 2,000 units, Calypso Macro Index Fund transferred 153 units at $14, Clico Investments held firm at $27.78 exchanging 37,741 shares. First Citizens Bank remained at $46.10 with trades of 1,520 units, Guardian Holdings closed at $19.20 transferring 140 units, Grace Kennedy traded 200 units at $3.50. NCB Financial Group exchanged 99,721 shares at $8, National Enterprises ended at $4.20, after a transfer of 595 units, Scotiabank finished at $54.65, with 467 units crossing the market and Unilever Caribbean closed at $17 exchanging 1,133 units changing hands.
