Junior Market recovers Wednesday’s losses

Trading on Thursday ended with the stocks rising, outdistancing those declining and leading the market index to recover almost all of Wednesday’s 30.20 points index loss on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange after rising stocks rose almost two to one versus losses.
Overall, 37 securities traded up from 35 on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of 18 stocks rising, 11 falling and eight remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index held on to 29.38 points of the day’s gains to settle at 3,034.52 after trading over 3,050 points during the day. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,549,153 shares for $13,069,947 compared to 5,634,565 units at $16,996,208 on Wednesday.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 21.7 percent of total volume after trading 989,052 shares, followed by Lasco Distributors 19.7 percent with 896,501 units and Derrimon Trading with 16.7 percent with an exchange of 758,481 units.
Trading averaged 122,950 units at $353,242 versus 160,988 at $485,606 on Wednesday. The month to date averaged 181,344 units at $578,209, compared to 189,144 units at $608,258 on Wednesday. March closed with an average of 252,633 units at $733,196 trading.

At the close, Access Financial dropped $2.94 to $19.55 with an exchange of 250 shares, AMG Packaging fell 18 cents to $1.72 with 20,506 units changing hands, Caribbean Assurance Brokers advanced 15 cents to $2.18 with 12,337 stock units passing through the market. Caribbean Cream shed 75 cents to close at $5.25 with 1,695 shares traded, Dolphin Cove climbed 20 cents to $8 with a transfer of 297 units, Everything Fresh rose 10 cents to $1 with an exchange of 1,131 stocks. Express Catering increased by 10 cents to $4.50 with 3,755 stock units changing hands, Fosrich lost 10 cents to settle at $5.50 with 51,609 shares passing through the market, iCreate rose 6 cents to 80 cents with 6,227 stocks traded. Indies Pharma declined by 5 cents to $4.30 with a transfer of 158,512 units, Iron Rock Insurance climbed 20 cents to $3.80 with 4,420 shares passing through the market, Jamaican Teas advanced 13 cents to $3.29 with 989,052 stock units traded. KLE Group rose 22 cents to $1.40 in trading 11,999 units, Lasco Distributors rose 12 cents to $3.75 with an exchange of 896,501 shares, Lasco Financial climbed 25 cents to $3.10 with 8,613 stock units changing hands. Lasco Manufacturing rose by 9 cents to $4.59 with 47,215 units passing through the market, Limners and Bardsfell 10 cents to $2.80 trading 21,200 stocks, Lumber Depot declined by 8 cents to end at $2.41 with a transfer of 354,836 shares. Mailpac Group advanced 24 cents to $3.49 with investors switching ownership of 151,017 units, Main Event jumped $1.22 to close at $4.92 with 6,637 stocks changing hands, Medical Disposables fell 10 cents to $4.15 with 3,800 stock units traded and tTech lost 19 cents to close at $4.4  with 1,000 shares crossing the exchange.

Prices mostly fall market index rises

Trading ended on Thursday, with the market index surprisingly rising after 27 percent fewer shares were traded than on Wednesday, but with an 83 percent rise in value, resulting in more stocks falling than rising at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Trading ended with 14 securities changing hands, up from 10 on Wednesday, with two rising, five declining and seven remaining unchanged. The Composite Index advanced 0.34 points to 1,342.17, the All T&T Index climbed 0.67 points to close at 1,795.21 and the Cross-Listed Index remained unchanged at 120.25.
A total of 41,013 shares traded for $993,218 versus 56,336 units at $543,220 on Wednesday.
An average of 2,930 units traded at $70,944 versus 5,634 at $54,322 on Wednesday. The month to date averages 10,605 units at $231,575, versus 11,389 units at $247,989. The average trade for March amounted to 12,610 units at $342,338.

Ansa Merchant Bank closed at $40, with 1,000 stocks clearing the market, Clico Investment Fund fell 39 cents to $25.01 in trading 14,726 units, First Citizens Bank shed 20 cents to close at $46.79 in switching ownership of 10 units, Guardian Holdings declined 1 cent to $25.99 in exchanging 40 stock units. Guardian Media remained at $3.01fter exchanging 300 shares, Massy Holdings ended at $64 while exchanging 2,710 units, Point Lisas ended at $3 in trading 83 shares. Prestige Holdings settled at $7.50, with 5,000 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings lost $1 in closing at $133 with the swapping of 202 stock units, Trinidad & Tobago NGL shed 3 cents to close at $14.77, with 8,068 stocks crossing the market and West Indian Tobacco advanced 1 cent to $32.92 in exchanging 4,296 shares.

Junior Market holding just above 3,000

After closing just over 3,058 points on Friday last, the market again flirted at the edge of the 3,000 points level once again on Wednesday but ended up closing with a 30.20 points drop to end at 3,005.14 as the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange had two bad days of three for the week so far.

 

Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 36 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 12 stocks rising, 13 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index dropped 30.20 points to settle at. The PE Ratio based on ICInsider.com forecast of 2021-22 earnings averages 12.3.
The market closed with the volume traded rising 66 percent above Tuesday’s levels carrying a value that was 86 percent higher as 5,634,565 shares traded for $16,996,208 compared to 3,392,680 units at $9,143,126 on Tuesday. Mailpac Group led trading with 33.3 percent of total volume for 1.87 million shares followed by Derrimon Trading with 31.6 percent for 1.78 million units and Limners and Bards with 7.1 percent after trading 398,329 shares.
Trading averaged 160,988 units at $485,606, up from 94,241 at $253,976 on Tuesday. Trading month to date averages 189,144 units at $608,258, down from 193,217 units at $625,997 on Tuesday. Trading in March averaged 252,633 units at $733,196.

KLE Group rose 16 cents to $1.18 in an exchange of 749 shares, Lasco Distributors declined 13 cents to end at $3.63 with 34,120 stock units clearing the market, Lasco Financial shed 20 cents to close at $2.85 after 15,880 shares crossed the exchange and Lasco Manufacturing lost 9 cents to settle at $4.50 after the transfer of 15,424 stocks.

Big gains for JSE Main Market

The market gained in trading on Wednesday after advancing stocks outdistanced declining ones by a third, after 38 percent less funds traced stocks than on Tuesday, as the Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed.
The All Jamaican Composite Index jumped 3,638.22 points to 435,387.12, the JSE Main Index climbed 3,316.85 points to 396,684.42, and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.79 points to settle at 99.62.
Trading ended with 47 securities, down from 50 on Tuesday and closed with prices of 18 stocks rising, 14 declining and 15 remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio averages 15.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
The market closed with 9,910,014 shares trading for $39,590,810 compared to 9,823,398 units at $63,848,406 on Tuesday. Wigton Windfarm led trading with 52.4 percent of total volume for 5.20 million shares, followed by Transjamaican Highway with 18.5 percent for 1.83 million units and JMMB Group 7.35% due 2028 with 7.1 percent for 701,195 units.

JSE USD market slips back

Trading ended on Wednesday, with the market slipping mildly after trading eight percent fewer shares than on Tuesday, resulting in more stocks falling than rising at the close of the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
Five securities traded, down from seven on Tuesday, with one rising, three declining and one trading unchanged.
The JSE USD Equity Index lost 1.69 points to end at 208.28. The PE Ratio based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings averages 12.7.
Overall, 143,305 shares traded, for US$21,406, down from 155,664 units at US$24,831 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 28,661 units at US$4,281, from 22,238 shares at US$3,547 on Tuesday. Trading month to date averaged 44,829 units at US$2,514 versus 46,753 units at US$2,303 on Tuesday. March ended with an average of 68,746 units for US$13,137.

Market activity ended on Wednesday, with the market index declining after investors traded 76 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday, resulting in 10 securities changing hands down from 20 on Tuesday, with the prices of one stock rising, one declining and eight trading unchanged at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
The Composite Index slipped 0.08 points to 1,341.83, the All T&T Index shed 0.15 points to settle at 1,794.54 and the Cross-Listed Index ended unchanged at 120.25.
At the close, 56,336 shares traded, for $543,220, compared to 236,729 units at $2,812,561 on Tuesday.
An average of 5,634 units traded at $54,322 compared to 11,836 at $140,628 on Tuesday. An average of 11,389 units traded at $247,989 for the month to date versus 11,842 units at $263,239. The average trade for March amounted to 12,610 units at $342,338.

JSE majors bounce

The number of securities trading remains elevated as the market index ended higher at the close of market activity on Tuesday, but with a 51 percent fall in the volume of stocks trading at a 31 percent higher value than on Monday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.
The All Jamaican Composite Index advanced 1,001.85 points to 431,748.90, the JSE Main Index rose 718.11 points to 393,367.57 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.36 points to settle at 98.83.
Trading ended with 50 securities, up from 48 on Monday and closed with prices of 17 stocks rising, 17 declining and 16 remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio averages 15.3 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
Overall, 9,823,398 shares traded for $63,848,406 compared to 20,114,270 units at $48,738,713 on Monday. Transjamaican Highway led trading with 27.9 percent of total volume for 2.74 million shares, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 21.3 percent and 2.09 million units and Jamaica Broilers 8.1 percent with 799,061 units trading.

Juniors claw back losses

The big loss suffered at the end of Monday’s trading was partially clawed back on Tuesday with a 47 percent drop in trading volume and the value slipping 57 percent from Monday levels as market activity closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.  
Trading ended with 36 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Monday and closed with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 15 declining and eight remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index rose 17.90 points to settle at 3,035.34. The PE Ratio based on ICInsider.com forecast of 2021-22 earnings averages 12.1.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,392,680 shares for $9,143,126 compared to 6,424,212 units at $21,113,857 on Monday. Limners and Bards led trading with 22.6 percent of total volume for 767,148 shares, followed by Lumber Depot with 20.3 percent for 688,898 units and Mailpac Group with 19.7 market share for 668,542 shares.

Market activity ended, with the market declining after investors traded 37 percent fewer shares on Tuesday than on Monday, resulting in more stocks falling than rising at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
