Money coming for Access owners

AccessBuilding320pxAccess Financial Services declared an interim dividend of 18.21 cents per ordinary stock unit to be paid on March 20, 2015 to stockholders on record as at March 6. The stock will traded ex-dividend on March 4.
Access last paid an interim dividend of 36.5 cents on September 1. Prior to the 2014 payment Access also paid 31 cents per share on August 15, 2013. The high risk lender reported profit increasing by 20 percent to $239 million for the nine months to September, last year. Earnings per share amounted to 87 cents. Access is listed on the junior market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange and last traded at $9.20.

A number of market indicators continue to point to a strong rally ahead for local stocks. National Commercial Bank dominated trading with more than 27 million units trading as Mayberry Investments sold most of them and Scotia Investments bought most. Both brokers were acting on behalf of clients.
More stocks gained on Monday than declined, resulting from the prices of 9 stocks rising, 3 declining as 22 securities changed hands, ending in 27,680,503 units trading, valued at $563,375,725, in all market segments. Two stocks closed at new 52 weeks’ high.

NCB trades at new high of $21

ncb-logo National Commercial Bank (NCB) closed with the price unchanged on Tuesday, but the stock traded at a new high of $21 during trading, as investors react positively to the group’s December results and hike in dividend payment. NCB has only 159,257 units posted on offer in the market at the close, between $22 and $33. Demand ranges from $19.80 down to $16. There are bids amounting to 217,950 units posted to buy at $19 or higher.

Friday’s activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange saw decline in the prices of Jamaica Money Market Brokers, National Commercial Bank and Scotia Group pulling the main market indices down more than 700 points. On Thursday National Commercial Bank closed at a new 52 weeks high at $19.99, leaving a big gap between buyers and sellers, hence the fall on Friday.
Investors participated in a small number of securities on Friday, resulting in the prices of 6 rising and 6 declining as 17 securities changed hands and ended with 2,404,440 units, valued at $12,847,928 traded, in all market segments. At the close there was demand for more with bids failing to attract sellers at the closing bid prices.

Scotia Group pushes market down sharply

Today the banking group stocks closed at $20.25 well off the close on Monday added to the fall National Commercial Bank stock price also fell and helped pulled down the indices.
