Most TTSE stocks stand firm

The Trinidad Stock market gave back some of the gains enjoyed on the last trading day of June as trading levels picked up on the first day of the new month with eighteen securities trading up from 16 stocks on Tuesday. The market closed with the vast majority of stocks trading closing with unchanged prices.

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange Head Quarters

The market closed with one advancing, three declining and the prices of fourteen ending unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 125,817 shares valued at $1,972,975 compared to 93,541 shares for $1,048,926 on Tuesday from the trading of 16 securities.
The T&T Composite Index slipped 1.89 points to 1,308.70. The All T&T Index fell by 4.43 points to 1,765.30, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.09 points to close at 115.15.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than its last selling price and two with lower offers.
Gainers NCB Financial added 1 cent trading 24,989 stock units and closed at $7.86.
Losers Clico Investments lost 1 cent trading 267 units to end at $24.99, Republic Financial Holdings closed 5 cents lower at $139.45, with an exchange of 5 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL finished at $17.20, with a loss of 30 cents the swapping of 600 units.
Firm TradersAgostini’s traded 2,000 units at $25, Angostura Holdings closed at $14.90 after an exchange of 30 units, Ansa McAL closed at $50.01, with investors transferring 1,165 units. First Citizens Bank remained at $45.71, with 650 units crossing the market, First Caribbean International Bank had investors swapping 1,250 units at $7.20, Guardian Holdings closed at $19.20, in trading 387 units. JMMB Group was unchanged at $1.95 with 26,106 stock units changing hands, Massy Holdings ended at $57, after the trading of 4,795 units. National Enterprises traded 5,000 units at $4.65, One Caribbean Media closed at $5.50, with investors having exchanged 24,806 stock units, investors exchanged 88 units of Point Lisas at $3.35. Trinidad Cement ended at $2.10, with 582 units changing hands, Unilever Caribbean closed at $16.98 after 585 units crossed the exchange and West Indian Tobacco closed with a transfer of 32,512 stock units at $34.79.

Trinidad stocks beat the region

The performance of Trinidadian stocks that are listed on the country’s stock exchange is beating regional companies that are cross-listed on the Trinidad exchange for the first six months of 2020, with the former down just five percent while cross-listed ones are down nearly 21 percent.

The T&T Composite Index climbed 6.19 points to 1,310.59, down 10.7 percent for the year so far. The All T&T Index advanced by 9.17 points to 1,769.73, with a six months fall of 5.3 percent while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.43 points to close at 115.06 for half year decline of 20.5 percent.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with five stocks advancing, four declining and seven remained unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 93,541 shares valued at $1,048,926 compared to 280,383 shares for $4,446,508 on Monday from 13 securities.

Mixed trading results in Trinidad

Trading levels on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday were significantly lower than on Monday, with 72,792 shares changing hands for $755,257 compared to 575,772 units at $5,467,655 on Monday.

First Citizens helped to pull the TTSE Index don on Tuesday.

At the close seventeen securities traded, down from twenty on Monday and the market closed with the price of three stocks advancing, six declining and eight remaining unchanged. The All T&T Index lost 6.38 points to 1,771.31, with First Citizens Bank falling $1.98 and West Indian Tobacco declining $1.49. The T&T Composite Index shed 2.61 points to finish at 1,311.67, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.16 points to close at 115.14.

Losers Clico Investments ended at $25.08, after losing 12 cents and swapping 649 units, First Citizens Bank fell by $1.98 to $46, in transferring 1,942 units, First Caribbean International lost 5 cents exchanging 3,148 units and closed at $7.20. Scotiabank shed 44 cents to end at $54.55, with 2,514 units crossing the market, Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent to close at $18, with 2,560 units changing hands and West Indian Tobacco finished $1.49 lower at $34, with an exchange of 3,660 units.

Ansa McAL and Republic Financial Holdings saw their stock price fall sharply on Monday and contributing to a 13.22 points decline in the All T&T index even as the volume and value of securities changing hands in the market rose compared to last Thursday.
The market was closed on Friday, the Labour Day holiday, with the number of securities trading, rose to the highest level since March 17, when 21 securities traded and the fifth time for 2020 that 20 or more securities crossed the market in a single session, this year.
The market closed with twenty securities trading with three stocks advancing, six declining and eleven remained unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 575,772 shares valued at $5,468,225 compared to 244,138 shares for $1,727,656 on Thursday from 11 securities.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 6.50 points to 1,314.28. The All T&T Index dropped 13.22 points to 1,777.69, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.04 points to close at 114.98.

Rising TTSE stocks outdid decliners

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange closed Thursday with modest market indices rising modestly in a moderate session with trading in just a third of the listings on the market.
Trading ended with eleven securities changing hands with three advancing, one declining and seven remaining unchanged. Market activity resulted in 244,138 shares changing hands for $1,727,656 compared to 80,727 shares at $1,983,740 on Wednesday from nine securities.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 2.61 points to 1,320.78. The All T&T Index closed, with a rise of 3.59 points to end at 1,790.91, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.22 points to close at 114.94.

Trading levels fell sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago stock exchange on Wednesday with nine securities trading with two stocks advancing, three declining and four unchanged compared to 16 securities on Tuesday.
Market activity resulted in 80,727 shares at $1,983,740 changing hands compared to 284,785 units for $8,438,592 on Tuesday.
The T&T Composite Index slipped 0.30 points to 1,318.17. The All T&T Index lost 0.60 points to close at 1,787.32, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 114.72.

Losers Agostini’s slid 75 cents to $24.25, in transferring 16,110 stock units, Clico Investments ended at $25.50, with a loss of 50 cents trading 18,898 stock units and West Indian Tobacco lost 6 cents exchanging 778 units to settle at $35.50.

Sharp jump for T&T market index

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange primary indices jumped sharply on Tuesday as the price of Republic Holdings surged, followed by Massy Holdings with smaller gains and leading the market indices to end, with double-digit increases.

The market closed with sixteen securities trading with the prices of six stocks advancing, four declining and six remained unchanged. Investors exchanged 284,785 shares for $8,437,502 compared to 187,069 shares for $3,294,378 on Monday from 11 securities.
The T&T Composite Index jumped 16.52 points to 1,318.47. The All T&T Index soared 20.97 points to 1,787.92, while the Cross Listed Index rose 1.63 points to close at 114.72.

After breaking for the Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resumed trading on Friday with increased volume and value of stocks over Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with two advancing, three declining and eight unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 570,976 shares valued at $1,744,334 compared to 100,174 shares for $1,354,857 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.05 points to close at 1,298.36. The All T&T Index was down 0.10 points to 1,760.42, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.01.

Declining stocks overwhelmed advancing ones on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday as trading contracted sharply from Tuesday’s levels leading the leading market indices to close higher when trading was complete.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with one advancing, six declining and six ending unchanged. Stocks passing through the market amounted to 100,174 units for $1,354,857 compared to 500,739 shares for $16,545,307 on Tuesday from 15 securities.
The T&T Composite Index gained 2.91 points to 1,298.41. The All T&T Index advanced by 7.37 points to 1,760.52, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.22 points to close at 113.01.
