Two stocks closed at 52 weeks’ highs one at a 52 weeks’ low and one traded at intraday highs as 12,148,016 units valued at only $49,596,056 changed hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 1,032,255 units changed hands, valued at $4,390,508.
The JSE Market Index climbed 1,182.30 points to 161,531.59 the all Jamaica Composite Index closed with a rise of 1,321.29 points to end at 179,476.96 and the JSE combined index gained 1,554.59 points to close at 172,394.70.

At the end of the market activities, Berger Paints lost 7 cents to end at $3.63 as 26,559 units traded, the company released results to December with an increase of 61 percent in after tax profit of $153.6 million from $95.3 in 2014 for the nine months period on sales that rose 11 percent. Cable and Wireless ended with 172,447 units changing hands to close at $1.59, Caribbean Cement climbed $1.95 to close at $28.60, with 8,800 shares changing hands. Grace Kennedy fell 50 cents and closed at $82.50, with 15,670 units changing hands but the stock traded on Friday in Trinidad at $4.15 and closed with a bid at $4.18 (J$78.16) on Monday. Jamaica Broilers fell 4 cents to $14.45 with 15,237 shares changing hands, Jamaica Stock Exchange gained 29 cents to $20 with 3,500 units trading, JMMB Group traded 26,728 units but gained 10 cents to end at $11, Kingston Wharves traded 9,245 units to close with a gain of 10 cents at $11.19. Mayberry Investments had 4,386 shares changing hands but rose 15 cents to $4.50, National Commercial Bank (NCB) traded 57,900 shares but rose $1.89 to close at $42.99 two trading days after the banking group released interim results to December, last year with a 12 percent increase in aftertax profit to $2.4 billion, from $2.1 billion. NCB stock traded in Trinidad on Friday at the equivalent of $5.20. Pan Jamaican Investment dropped $4 with just 2,930 units changing hands to close at $94, Pulse Investments traded 10,002,000 shares with a fall of 3 cents to close at $3.22 as Barita Investments crossed 10 million units. Sagicor Group gained 10 cents to close at $23 with 102,424 units changing hands, Scotia Group had 77,925 shares changing hands to close with a rise of 56 cents at $31.56, Scotia Investments had 1,000 shares trading to close with a gain of $1.90 at $29.90. Supreme Ventures closed at $6.20 and gained of 20 cents with 70,381 units changing hands, Proven Investments ordinary share traded 77,700 units to close at 22.89 US cents and JMMB 7.5% preference share traded 179,778 units at $2.25 after regaining 15 cents.

Main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed with sharp fall in the indices on Thursday with trading volumes being relatively light. Market activities closed with 42 securities changing hands in all market segments, 16 of which gained in the combined markets and 11 declined.
Two stocks closed at 52 weeks’ highs and one traded at intraday highs as 8,147,718 units valued at $82,326,591 changed hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 2,952,252 units changed hands, valued at $17,175,945.
The JSE Market Index fell sharply by 2,439.44 points to 159,591.63 the all Jamaica Composite Index closed with a big decline of 2,726.20 points to end at 177,308.95 and the JSE combined index dropped 3,176.12 points to close at 169,880.83.

Kingston Wharves traded 27,407 units to close with the loss of 1 cent at $11.14, Margaritaville Turks traded 151,100 shares at 11.05 US cents. Mayberry Investments traded 24,568 shares at $4.51 with a rise of 1 cent, National Commercial Bank traded with a fall of $1 to close at $40,
with 654,604 units changing hands, Pan Jamaican Investment gained $2.50 with 3,346 units changing hands to close at $96.50, Pulse Investments traded 102,235 shares with a rise of 40 cents to close at $3. Sagicor Group gained 45 cents to close at $23.45 with 4,170 units changing hands, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 40,881 shares at $11.60, Scotia Group had 8,387 shares changing hands to close with a loss of $1.30 at $30.70, Scotia Investments had 1,920 shares changing hands to close with a gain of $3.50 at $30. Supreme Ventures closed at $6 to record a loss of 55 cents with 221,810 units changing hands, Proven Investments ordinary share gained 2.98 US cents in trading 691,400 units to close at 22.98 US cents, JMMB 7.5% preference share traded 70,222 units at $2.25 and Proven Investments preference share traded 49,000 units at $5.
JSE enjoys big jump on Wednesday
Main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed with moderate gains in the indices on Wednesday with trading volumes being light. Market activities close with 42 securities changing hands in all market segments of which 16 securities in the combined markets gained and 12 declined.
Five stocks closed at 52 weeks’ highs and one traded at intraday highs as 4,514,100 units valued at $80,222,876 changed hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 920,944 units changed hands, valued at $5,787,289.
The JSE Market Index jumped sharply by 2,558.24 points to 162,031.07 the all Jamaica Composite Index closed with a big gain of 2,858.97 points to end at 180,035.15 and the JSE combined index rose 2,543.90 points to close at 173,056.95.

Kingston Properties traded 79,853 shares but lost 24 cents to end at $6.80, Kingston Wharves traded 5,112 units to close with a gain of 1 cent at $11.14, Margaritaville Turks traded 73,000 shares at 11.05 US cents. National Commercial Bank traded with a fall of 75 cents to close at $41, with 59,120 units changing hands, Pan Jamaican Investment shed $4 with 100,100 units changing hands to close at $94, Radio Jamaica gained 80 cents to end at $5 while trading 21,945 shares. Sagicor Group closed at $23 with 7,704 units changing hands, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 52,946 shares at $11.60, Scotia Group had 179,497 shares changing hands to close with a gain of $1.50 at $32, Scotia Investments had 200,000 shares changing hands to close with a decline of $3.49 at $26.50. Seprod rose 50 cents to close at $20.50 with 109,692 units changing hands. Supreme Ventures closed at a 52 weeks’ closing high of $6.55 to record a gain of 6 cents with 64,920 units changing hands, the stock traded at an all-time high of $6.90 during the day, Proven Investments ordinary share lost 2 US cents in trading 1,244,550 units at 20 US cents and JMMB 7.5% preference share traded 137,308 units at $2.25.
JSE had a sharp jump on Monday
Seven stocks closed at 52 weeks’ highs and 1 at intraday highs as 3,242,483 units valued at $29,602,537 changed hands in all markets, with the junior market accounting for 1,767,220 units changed hands, valued at $8,897,090.
The main market indices climbed sharply again as Scotia Group shot up to $34.99 in early trading, to help push up the indices by the big moves, but the indices could fall back on Tuesday The JSE Market Index climbed 3,705.74 points to 159,979.58, the all Jamaica Composite Index is down with a jump of 4,141.39 points to end at 177,742.51 and the JSE combined index surged by 3,281.87 points to close at 171,105.92.

Ciboney traded 104,035 units with a fall 1 cent to end at 24 cents, Gleaner Company traded 4,573 shares and lost 2 cents to close at $2.68, Grace Kennedy closed at $80.21, with 5,653 units changing hands. Jamaica Broilers rose 25 cents to close at $11.75 with 34,714 shares changing hands. Jamaica Producers had 39,294 shares trading as the price rose by 70 cents to $33, Jamaica Stock Exchange closed at $20 while trading 26,333 shares, JMMB Group traded 287,100 units to end with a loss of 27 cents at $11.50. Kingston Properties traded 20,000 units and lost 24 cents to close at $6.80, Kingston Wharves lost 14 cents in trading 52,797 units to close at $11.01, Mayberry Investments traded 101,452 shares and gained 5 cents to end at $4.75, National Commercial Bank ended with a rise of 59 cents at $41.10, with 51,157 units changing hands. Pan Jamaican Investments fell 5 cents to close at $94.01 with 15,238 shares trading. Radio Jamaica lost 50 cents in trading 11,303 shares to close at $5.50. Sagicor Group rose 17 cents to close at $22.97 with 16,782 units changing hands. Scotia Group rose 51 cents with 291,386 shares changing hands to close at $30.60 after trading earlier at $34.99, Supreme Ventures gained 42 cents to end at $5.12 with 171,360 units changing hands at a new 52 weeks’ closing high and Proven Investments ordinary share traded 32,550 units at 21 US cents, down from 22 US cents on Friday.
