Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange dropped sharply below Thursday’s level with 181,380 shares valued $4,101,034 crossing the exchange compared to 204,580 shares valued $2,106,628 Thursday.
Trading ended with 14 securities changing hands compared to 15 on Thursday and ended with 4 advancing, 4 declining and 6 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index rose 4.93 points to 1,395.38. The All T&T Index gained 0.91 points to 1,751.68, while the Cross Listed Index added 1.24 points to close at 140.81.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with one stock closing with the bid higher than the last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Gains| First Citizens Bank added 1 cent and exchanged 758 units at $40.11, Massy Holdings gained 30 cents and completed trading 7,116 stock units at $54.75, Republic Financial rose 33 cents and settled at $121.33, after swapping of 1,812 shares and Scotiabank closed with a gain of 49 cents and completed trading of 10,596 units at $58.50.
Losses| Ansa Mcal ended trading 18 cents lower and settled at $55.02, with 2,048 stock units trading, Grace Kennedy lost 1 cent trading 1,000 shares to close at $3.29, Guardian Holdings share fell 1 cent and completed trading of 61,742 units at $18.01 and JMMB Group shed 1 cent to end at $2.24 with 500 shares crossing the exchange.
Firm Trades| Calypso Macro Index Fund traded just 40 shares at $15.50, Clico Investment Fund ended at $24.15, with 14,515 stock units trading, NCB Financial settled at $10.50, after exchanging 31,000 shares. Sagicor Financial ended at $10.45, in exchanging 20,344 shares, Trinidad Cement ended at $2.25, trading 400 stock units and Trinidad & Tobago NGL traded 29,509 units to close at $24.51.

JSE main market dropped – Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market fell on Thursday, with the number of advancing and declining stocks being almost even.
The market ended, with 35 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to the price of 12 advancing, 13 declining and 7 trading firm, compared to 36 securities trading on Wednesday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index lost 1,946.39 points to close at 568,243.88, the JSE Index declined by 1,763.59 points to close at 517,378.66 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.03 points to end at 140.37.
Market activity lead to 9,158,146 units valued $118,719,755 changing hands, in contrast to 68,265,038 shares valued at $682,669,316, crossing the main market on Wednesday.
Sagicor Select Fund traded 2.9 million shares for 31 percent of total volume, Wigton Windfarm followed with 2.6 million units accounting for 29 percent of the day’s trade and Carreras with 626,846 for 7 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average of 261,661 units valued at an average of $3,391,993 for each security traded. In contrast to an average of 2,007,795 units at $20,078,509 for each security traded on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 903,841 shares valued at $7,809,227 for every security traded, compared to 1,117,901 shares valued at $9,281,638 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

Jamaica Producers climbed $26.50 to settle at $1.5 with 24,950 shares changing hands, Jamaica Stock Exchange added $2.01 trading of 44,766 units to close at $25.01, JMMB Group ended trading 39,592 shares, after falling 45 cents to end at $49.50, Kingston Wharves ended trading 27,983 shares, after declining 80 cents to end at $67.80. NCB Financial lost $4 to end at $206, in trading 127,004 stock units, PanJam Investment gained $1 to end at $102, in exchanging 86,006 shares, Proven Investments climbed 50 cents and exchanged 4,682 shares at $37.50, Sagicor Group rose $1.90 to sit at $72 after the swapping of 168,576 shares. Scotia Group gained $1.50 in trading of 74,162 shares to close at $57, Seprod declined by $5.80 to end at $52 with 350,263 stock units changing hands and Supreme Ventures rose $1.15 trading 20,145 shares to end at $27.
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 134,077 units valued $32,576 changing hands with Proven Investments closing at 26 US cents and exchanging 113,310 shares and Sygnus Credit Investments trading 20,767 shares at 15 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index remained unchanged at 194.45.

Junior Market back to normal – Thursday

The Junior Market returned to normal trading levels on Thursday after investors exchanged 432 million shares in Derrimon Trading on Wednesday to swell the total volume passing through the market.
Trading ended with an exchange of 3,507,923 units valued at $11,169,576 compared to 435,728,487 units valued at $875,729,654 from 28 securities changing hands on Wednesday.
At the close of market activities, 32 securities changed hands, with the prices of 9 advancing, 13 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The Junior Market Index lost 7.43 points to close at 3,548.91.
Trading ended with an average of 109,623 units for an average of $349,049 in contrast to 15,561,732 units for an average of $31,276,059 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 3,808,076 units valued at $7,853,433 and previously 5,200,435 units valued $10,678,613 for each security traded. In contrast, August ended with an average of 232,398 units valued at $1,072,851 for each traded security.

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange dropped sharply below Wednesday’s level with 204,580 shares valued $2,106,628 crossing the exchange compared to 579,491 shares valued $9,023,878 Wednesday.
Trading ended with 15 securities changing hands compared to 18 on Wednesday and ended with 3 advancing, 4 declining and 8 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index gained 1.11 points to 1,390.45. The All T&T Index shed 0.70 points to 1,750.77, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.41 points to close at 139.57.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with 2 stocks closing with bids higher than the last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Gains| Grace Kennedy added 1 cent in trading 102,000 shares to end at $3.30, NCB Financial rose 30 cents and ended at $10.50, with 2,933 units crossing the exchange and West Indian Tobacco gained 45 cents to close at $106 in exchanging 250 shares.
Losses| One Caribbean Media lost 10 cents and ended at $10, with 15,000 units crossing the exchange. Point Lisas closed with a loss of 3 cents and settled at $3.72, with 203 units changing hands, Republic Financial fell 33 cents and ended at $121, trading 5,650 units and Unilever Caribbean shed 25 cents and concluded trading of 5,897 stock units at $24.50.
Firm Trades| Clico Investment Fund settled at $24.15, with 409 stock units changing hands, First Caribbean International Bank ended at $8.50, with 50,000 stock units trading, First Citizens Bank completed trading at $40.10, with 2,267 units, Guardian Holdings settled at $18.02, with 5,006 units crossing the exchange. JSE main market bullish

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market indices inched higher at the close on Wednesday, but that disguises the sharp difference between advancing and declining stocks with 5 to 2 advantage.
The market ended, with 35 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 20 advancing, 8 declining and 7 trading firm, compared to 36 securities trading on Tuesday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rallied 199.54 points to 570,190.27, the JSE Index gained 45.67 points to close at 519,142.25 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.52 points to end at 140.40.
Mayberry Jamaican Equities dominated market activity, leading to 68,265,038 shares valued at $682,669,316 changing hands, in contrast to 30,838,644 units valued at over $177,452,451 crossing the main market on Tuesday.
Mayberry Jamaican Equities traded 40.26 million shares and 60 percent of total volume, Wigton Windfarm followed with 16 million units accounting for 23.4 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Fund with 8.14 units for 12 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average of 2,007,795 units valued at $20,078,509 for each security traded, in contrast to 907,019 units valued at an average of $5,219,190 for each security traded on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,117,901 shares valued at $9,281,638 for every security traded, compared to 691,754 units valued at $4,111,306 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

Jamaica Broilers lost 50 cents trading 5,280 units in closing at $35.50, Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped $4.80 trading of 379,011 units to close at $23, Kingston Wharves ended trading with 2,160 shares, after rising 80 cents to end at $67.80, NCB Financial jumped $7 to end at $210, in trading 14,748 shares. PanJam Investment gained $1 to end at $101, in exchanging 11,401 shares, Portland JSX added $1 to end at $9 after trading 7,900 shares, Proven Investments climbed 40 cents and exchanged 110 shares at $37, Sagicor Group rose $1.60 to sit at $70.10 after the swapping of 960,753 shares. Salada Foods gained $1.50 to end at $32.50 trading 915 units, Seprod added $1.80 to end at $57.80 with 16,407 stock units changing hands and Scotia Group fell $2 in trading of 44,363 shares to close at $55.50.
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 12,000 units valued US$3,120 changing hands with Proven Investments being the only security trading to close at 26 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index remained unchanged at 194.45.

Derrimon trades big block on Junior Market

Derrimon Trading exchanged 432m shares

More than 432 million units with a value of $860.7 million of Derrimon Trading shares passed through the Junior Market on Wednesday with the block of 420 million shares that Mayberry attempted to trade on Tuesday was put through the exchange on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an exchange of 435,728,487 units valued at $875,729,654 compared to 3,646,455 units valued at $16,744,218 from 27 securities changing hands on Tuesday.
At the close of market activities, 28 securities changed hands, with the prices of 13 advancing, 7 declining and 8 remaining unchanged. The Junior Market Index climbed 36.39 points to close at 3,556.34.

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange climbed well above Tuesday’s level with 579,491 shares valued $9,023,878 crossing the exchange compared to 646,866 shares valued $8,173,637 on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 18 securities changing hands compared to 15 on Tuesday and ended with 4 advancing, 6 declining and 8 remaining unchanged.

More decline for JSE main market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market continued its downward drift on Tuesday that started at the beginning of last week, with just one day break with gains on Friday, but the market closed with the advancing stocks outnumbering declining ones.
The market ended, with 36 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 14 advancing, 11 declining and 11 trading firm, compared to 40 securities trading on Monday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index dipped 709.13 points to close at 569,990.73, the JSE Index declined by 671.42 points to 518,996.58 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.54 points to end at 139.88.
Market activity ended with 30,838,644 units valued at over $177,452,451 changing hands, in contrast to 18,275,886 units valued $114,450,252 crossing the main market on Monday.
Wigton Windfarm took back the top spot as the leading traded stock with 18.5 million shares accounting for 60 percent of total volume, Sagicor Select Fund followed with 7.9 million units accounting for 26 percent of the day’s trade and Carreras with just 760,094 units for 2.5 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average of 907,019 units valued at an average of $5,219,190 for each security traded, in contrast to 493,943 units valued $3,093,250 for each security traded on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 691,754 units valued at $4,111,306 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

Sagicor Group fell $5 to sit at $68.50 in swapping of 304,379 shares, Salada Foods ended trading with 4,467 shares, and rose $1 to end at $31, Seprod gained 95 cents to end at $56 with 39,056 stock units changing hands. Supreme Ventures exchanged 118,610 units and recovered 28 cents to end at $26, Sygnus Credit Investments exchanged 108,736 shares and added 45 cents, to close at $20.95 and Wisynco Group rose 50 cents with 239,970 shares changing hands, to settle at $24.
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 15,025 units valued at US$3,566 changing hands. More declines for Junior Market – Tuesday

Mayberry tried trading 420m Derrimon Trading shares but the transaction was disqualified.

The Junior Market Index declined by 29.09 points to close at 3,519.95 on Tuesday with volume rising 37 percent over Monday’s level resulting in a 10 percent increase the value traded over Monday.
Investors exchanged 3,646,455 units valued at $16,744,218 compared to 2,662,027 units valued at $15,208,221 on Monday. At the close of market activities, 27 securities changed hands versus 30 changing hands on Monday and resulted in 10 advancing, 13 declining and 4 remaining unchanged at the close on Tuesday.
An average of 135,054 units for an average of $620,156 traded, in contrast to an average of 88,734 units at $506,941 on Monday for each security traded. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 110,675 valued at $560,569 for each security traded. In contrast, August ended with an average of 232,398 units valued at $1,072,851 for each traded security.

Honey Bun lost 7 cents in trading 7,500 shares to close at 7 cents, iCreate closed with a loss of 5 cents at 82 cents, in swapping of 92,486 shares, Indies Pharma lost 10 cents in trading of 136,276 units o end tat $3.40, Iron Rock Insurance dipped 20 cents in exchanging of 2,862 units at $4. ISP Finance jumped $3.49 to end at $21 with 3,000 stock units trading, Jamaican Teas traded 121,817 shares and rose 10 cents to end at $6, Jetcon Corporation fell 22 cents to end at $1.98, with 22,800 units crossing the exchange, Limners and Bards closed 18 cents higher at $3.18, with 34,438 stock units changing hands. Lasco Distributors closed trading of 1,397,412 units and gained 7 cents to end at $3.37. Lasco Financial dipped 5 cents in trading of 12,618 units at $5.50, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 20 cents and exchanged 220,077 shares to end at $5.70, Paramount Trading ended trading 1,474 shares, after rising 38 cents to end at $1.98 and Stationery and Office Supplies ended with a loss of 1 cent at $12.49 with 5,550 stock units changing hands.

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange climbed well above Monday’s level with 646,866 shares valued $8,173,637 crossing the exchange compared to 31,251 shares at a value of $1,140,527 on Monday.
Trading ended with 15 securities changing hands compared to 13 on Monday and ended with 8 advancing, 3 declining and 4 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index added 0.44 points to 1,389.72. The All T&T Index declined 1.19 points to 1,751.52, while the Cross Listed Index rose 1.86 points to close at 139.26.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with 2 stocks closing with the bids higher than the last selling prices and 4 with lower offers.
Gains| Angostura Holdings closed with an increase of 1 cent at $15.85, with 2,000 stock units changing hands, Clico Investment Fund rose 10 cents and to close at $24.10, with 11,070 units crossing the exchange, Grace Kennedy added 1 cent and ended at $3.30, after exchanging 349,363 shares. JMMB Group gained 5 cents and ended at $2.25, with 260 units crossing the exchange, Massy Holdings rose 45 cents and completed trading of 48,380 units at $54.50. NCB Financial closed with a gain of 24 cents, settled at $10.25, with 468 stock units changing hands One Caribbean Media finished trading with 9 cents and ended at $10.10, with 200 stock units trading and Trinidad & Tobago NGL traded 79,140 units and gained 1 cent to close at $24.51.
Losses| CinemaOne lost 35 cents and concluded trading of 740 units at 52 weeks’ low of $7.15, First Citizens Bank ended trading 29 cents lower and settled at $40.10, in swapping of 3,137 shares and Trinidad Cement closed with a loss of 5 cents at 52 weeks’ low of $2.30, with 4,284 stock units changing hands.
