Losses| Guardian Holdings lost 20 cents with 6,212 shares changing hands to end at $13,TTSE 13-04-16 Massy Holdings ended with 16,615 shares changing hands to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $53.99 after losing 1 cent and Point Lisas traded 2,340 shares but lost 5 cents to $4.
Firm Trades| Clico Investment Fund ended at $22.60 with 22,256 shares valued at $502,986 changing hands, Grace Kennedy had 100 units changing hands at $5.15, JMMB Group closed at 59 cents with 2,477 shares trading and Trinidad Cement ended with only 50 shares changing hands to close at $3.49.

The JSE Market Index suffered a loss of 587.05 points to end at 149,350.58, the all Jamaica Composite Index fell 656.54 points to 165,860.26 and the JSE combined index declined 530.26 points, to close at 157,213.08.

Caribbean Producers traded 40,500 units and lost 7 cents to end at $4.03, Derrimon Trading closed with a gain of $1 at $5 with 18751 units changing hands, Honey Bun jumped $1.50 on news the board will be considering a subdivision of its shares to close at $12.50 while 21,550 shares changed hands. ISP Finance slipped 2 cents to close at $2.50 after trading 25,500 units, Jamaican Teas rose 1 cent to close at $3.81 after 25,000 shares changed hands, JM Trdng Sht 13-4-16KLE Group traded 270,000 shares and fell 5 cents, to end at $1.65, Knutsford Express closed with 1,601 units changing hands at $19. Lasco Distributors gained 4 cents to end at $5.04 with 59,000 units trading, Lasco Financial lost 10 cents to close at $2.90, with 40,889 shares changing hands, Lasco Manufacturing lost 10 cents and ended with 126,350 shares changing hands to close at $3.50, Medical Disposables fell 5 cents in trading 1,000 shares to close at $3.15 and Paramount Trading ended with 3,460 shares trading to end at $11.

Trading on Jamaica Stock Exchange saw some spirited activity in JSE intra 13-04-16Cable & Wireless with 1,058,537 trading up to $1.20 but backing off to $1.16, National Commercial Bank with 1,803,981 units at $40.05 and JMMB Group 7.50% preference share with 1,541,085 units at $1.06 and KLE Group traded 270,000 at $1.65.
Trading saw all indices rising after 75 minutes of trading on Wednesday with an average of 251,635 per active stock traded, up from an average of 30,628 units traded in the mid-morning session on Tuesday.
A total of 20 securities, accounting for 5,032,702 shares that changed hands at 10.45 am as 8 stocks gained and 6 declined.
The market saw all Jamaica Composite Index rose 201.78 points to 166,718.58, the JSE Market Index rose 180.43 points to 150,118.06 the JSE combined index ending with a gain of 206.39 points to 157,949.73 and the junior market index gained 3.81 points to 1,822.90.

At the end of trading, the selling rate for Euro, rose 37 cents to close at J$139.63, from Monday’s rate, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$136.75 for a rise of 42 cents on Monday’s rate. The US dollar equivalent of other currencies traded, amounts to US$112,783 being bought, while US$254,920 was sold.

Trading accounted for 8,660,890 units valued at $141,376,836 changing hands in all markets with the junior market accounting for 1,258,428 units valued at $7,440,298 changing hands.
The JSE Market Index suffered a sharp loss of 2,997.40 points to end at 149,937.63, the all Jamaica Composite Index nosedived 3,352.19 points to 166,516.80 and the JSE combined index fell sharply by 2,832.52 points, to close at 157,743.34.

The US dollar equivalent of other currencies traded, amounts to US$301,872 being bought, while US$332,567 was sold.
Highs & Lows| Notable changes to the highest and lowest rates the currencies traded at on Monday are, a fall of $18.22 in the lowest selling rate of the US dollar to $99.78, a rise of $1.30 in the lowest selling rate of the Canadian dollar to $88.30.
