No losing JSE USD stocks on Friday

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Friday, with remaining unchanged after investors traded just half of the shares exchanged on Thursday.
At the close of the market, trading ended with three securities changing hands compared to two on Thursday and ended with the prices of the stocks remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index settled at 183.44, without change and the average  PE Ratio ended at 12.7 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 398,737 shares, accounting for US$4,700 compared to 809,269 units at US$ 22,829 on Thursday. The average trade for the day amounted to 132,912  units changing hands at US$1,567, in contrast to an average of 115,610   shares at US$3,261 on Thursday. Trading ended with an average of 75,731 units for the month to date at US$2,332, in contrast to 63,478  units at US$2,496. By comparison, August ended with an average of 83,402 units for US$7,526.

Post-election rally for Junior Market

Rising stocks were dominant at the end of trading on Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange one day after Jamaica’s general election was held with the governing party retaining power. At the close on Friday, stocks enjoyed modest gains for the third consecutive day after 61 percent fewer shares traded than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 28 securities changing hands compared to 31 on Thursday and ended with the prices of 12 stocks rising, the prices of eight declining and eight, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 12.62 points to settle at 2,469.98, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,643,360 shares for $5,533,060 compared to 4,265,667  shares for $9,982,025 on Thursday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 865,762 shares for 52.7 percent of total volume, followed by Lasco Financial with 140,446 units for 8.6 percent of the day’s trade and Caribbean Flavours with 118,584 units for 7.2 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 58,691 units at $197,609 in contrast to 137,142 units at $322,001 on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 83,389 units at  $246,517, in comparison to 90,668 units at $260,932 to Thursday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426 units at $321,996.

Caribbean Flavours jumped 50 cents to close at $18.50 with investors transferring 118,584 stock units, Caribbean Producers slipped 1 cent to $2.39 with 19,000 stocks traded, Elite Diagnostic added 1 cent to settle at $3.06 with investors switching ownership of 2,930  shares. Everything Fresh declined by 5 cents to end at 65 cents in an exchange of 37,527 stock units, Fontana gained 2 cents in to close at $4.73 with 40,975 stocks changing hands, Fosrich advanced 10 cents to finish at $4 with investors transferring 13,761 stock units. General Accident increased by 2 cents to settle at $6.42 after trading 512 shares, GWest Corporation fell 19 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ low of 56 cents with an exchange of 112,000 stock units, Indies Pharma dropped 21 cents to end at $2.63 with investors switching the ownership of 95,088 stocks. Jetcon Corporation rose 3 cents to finish at 83 cents with 31,162 units changing hands, Lasco Distributors closed 2 cents higher at $3.12  with 11,000 stock units traded, Lasco Financial dropped  9 cents to end at $2.06 with investors transferring 140,446 stocks. Lasco Manufacturing climbed 18 cents to finish at $3.79 in an exchange of 2,176 shares, Mailpac Group gained 14 cents to settle at  $2.14, trading 865,762 units, Medical Disposables added 10 cents in closing at $4.99 with 12,387  stocks changing hands. SSL Venture declined by 11 cents to finish at 75 cents with 8,084 units trading and Stationery and Office Supplies lost 4 cents to end at $5.61 after with 9,986 stock units crossing the exchange.

Slippage for many of TTSE stocks

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on undefined, with the market declining after 246 percent more shares than on undefined, resulting in more than twice the number of stocks falling than rising and the prices of three stocks closing at 52 weeks’ lows.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with four stocks advancing, ten stocks declining and three remaining unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 592,382 shares valued at $2,589,580 compared to 171,377 shares for $1,635,896 on Thursday from 13 securities.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 34,846 units at $152,328 versus an average of 13,183 stock units for $125,838 for each security. Month to date trading resulted in an average 20,526 units changing hands at $197,262 versus 14,126 shares at $217,364 on Thursday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.00 point to 1,325.39, the All T&T Index dropped 4.25 points to 1,798.50, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.31 points to close at 115.12.

Stocks rising First Caribbean International Bank closed with a rise of 5 cents to end at $7.05 after transferring 54,800 shares, Grace Kennedy gained 24 cents to finish at $3.49, with an exchange of 506,900 stocks. JMMB Group added 4 cents to close at $1.84, in trading 973 units and West Indian Tobacco picked up 2 cents in the transfer of just two stock units in ending at $37.
Stocks declining Angostura Holdings lost 1 cent exchanging 500 units to close at $16.99, Ansa Merchant Bank shed 25 cents to end at $36.75, after transferring 2,816 units, Endeavour Holdings closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $12.40, with a loss of 5 cents trading 200 shares.  First Citizens Bank ended at $46.25, having lost 25 cents transferring 2,619 units, Guardian Holdings closed 50 cents lower at $19.50, with 601 stocks changing hands, Massy Holdings shed 50 cents to settle at $59, after a transfer of 52 stock units. One Caribbean Media lost 5 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.10, in exchanging 264 units, Scotiabank slipped 4 cents to $54.70, in trading 82 shares. Trinidad and Tobago NGL slid 59 cents to $16.16, with an exchange of 2,200 units and Unilever Caribbean finished at a 52 weeks’ low of $16.70, after losing 27 cents transferring 5,000 stock units.

JSE Main Market gets election day bounce

With Thursday, being the day of Jamaica’s general election, the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading, rose with an equal number of stocks rising and falling, with seven percent more shares exchanged, with 90 percent greater value than on Wednesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index surged by 1,988.44 points to 401,268.08. The Main Index climbed 1,851.55 points to close at 366,242.20. The JSE Financial Index gained 0.62 points to close at 96.84.
Trading ended with 38 securities changing hands compared to 45  on Wednesday, with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 15 declining and eight remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.4 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 7,819,711 shares for $77,429,738  compared to 7,341,364 units at $40,755,755 on Wednesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 3.9 million shares for 50 percent of total volume, followed by Scotia Group with 1.18 million units for 15 percent of the day’s trade and Transjamaican Highway with 853,461 units for 11 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 205,782 units changing hands at  $2,037,625 for each security, in comparison to an average of 163,141  shares at  $905,683 on Wednesday. The average trade for the month to date ended at 209,284 units at $1,423,922 for each security, in contrast to  210,813 units at $957,419. Jamaica Producers fell $1 to $21, with 5,106 units crossing the market, JMMB Group rose  97 cents to close at $30.50, while transferring 41,850 shares. Key Insurance rose $1.94 to settle at $9.15, in an exchange of 184,302 shares, Kingston harves advanced to $45, with gains of $1 trading 7,600 units, NCB Financial ended 50 cents higher at  $138.01 with investors swapping 38,808 shares. PanJam Investment carved out an increase of $1 to settle at $70 in trading 450 units, Sagicor Group gained 77 cents to close at $44.77 after exchanging  63,545 units. Scotia Group ended with a loss of 71 cents to end at  $46.02, in clearing the market with 1,184,453 shares, Seprod gained 50 cents to finish at $55, trading  4,895 units and Supreme Ventures lost 30 cents ending at $13.50, with 5,173 units changing hands.
In the preference segment of the market, Community & Workers Credit Union preference shares gained 28 cents in trading 11,500 units to close at $1.98.

JSE USD Market slips modestly

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Thursday, with the market slipping after investors traded 51 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday.
At the close of the market, trading ended with four securities changing hands similar to Wednesday and ended with the price of two stocks rising, one declining and one remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index sheds 2.96 points to settle at 183.44, with the average  PE Ratio ending at 12.7 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings. The market closed with an exchange of 809,269 shares, accounting for US$22,929 compared to 33,794 units at  US$3,639  on Wednesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 202,317 units changing hands at  US$5,707, in contrast to an average of 8,449 shares at US$910  on Wednesday. Trading ended, with an average of 80,789   units for the month to date at US$3,177 in contrast to 11,346 units at US$1,731. By comparison,  August ended with an average of 83,402 units for US$7,526.

Junior Market ekes out small gain

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market squeezing out a small gain after more stocks rose than decline with a hefty 154 percent more shares trading than Wednesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 15 stocks rising, the prices of 10 declining and six, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 3.26 points to close at 2,457.36. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,265,667 shares for $9,982,025 compared to 1,678,856 units at $4,184,920 on Wednesday. MailPac Group led trading with 3.52 million shares for 82.9 percent of total volume, followed by Limners and Bards with 374,097 units for 8.8 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with just 51,906 units for 1.2 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 137,142 units at $322,001  in contrast to 47,967 at $119,569 on Wednesday. Rising TTSE stocks top losers

Rising stocks edged out decliners on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday after investors traded 68 percent more shares, with 32 percent greater value than on Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with four stocks advancing, three declining and six unchanged. Trading resulted in 171,377 shares valued at $1,635,896 passing through the market compared to 101,727 shares for $1,242,094 on Wednesday from 14 securities.
The day’s average trade ended at 13,183 units at $125,838 versus an average of 7,266 stock units for $88,721 for each security on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounted to 14,126 units at $217,364 compared to 14,616 shares for $264,957 on Wednesday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.

Junior Market squeezes out gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange eked out a modest gain at the closed on  Wednesday, even as more stocks fell than rose after trading, resulted in 37 percent fewer shares changing hands than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 29 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 15  declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index climbed 8.35 points to settle at 2,454.10. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,678,856 shares for $4,184,920 compared to 2,668,027 units at $10,621,549 on Tuesday. Jetcon Corporation led trading with 605,400 shares for 36.1 percent of total volume, followed by Lasco Distributors with 184,045 units for 11 percent of the day’s trade and Caribbean Producers with 183,684 units for 10.9 percent market share.

Winning stocks lift JSE Main Market

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Wednesday with a modest rise after shares gaining outnumbered those falling by a near two to one ratio after an exchange of 33 percent fewer shares with 96 percent of the value of stocks traded on Tuesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index gained 884.00 points to close at 399,279.64, the Main Index advanced 900.71 points to 364,390.65 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.27 points to close at 96.22.
Trading ended with 45 securities changing hands compared to 42  on Tuesday, with the prices of 21 stocks rising, 12  declining and 12 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.4 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 7,341,364 shares for $40,755,755  compared to 10,999,409 units at $42,539,683 on Tuesday. QWI Investments led trading with 2.54 million shares for 34.6 percent of total volume, followed  Wigton Windfarm with 1.48 million units for 20.2 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 647,235 units for 8.8 percent market share.

Subdued JSE USD market activity

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Wednesday, with the market declining after investors traded 26 percent fewer shares than on Tuesday, resulting in stock rising in price at the close.

The JSE USD Equities Index fell 0.42 points to 186.40, with the average PE Ratio ending at 12.7 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings. The market closed with an exchange of 33,794 shares for US$3,639 compared to 45,626 units at US$8,475 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 8,449 units changing hands at  US$910, in contrast to an average of 15,209 shares at US$2,825  on Tuesday. Trading ended, with an average of 11,346  units for the month to date at  US$1,731. By comparison, August ended with an average of 83,402 units for US$7,526.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows two stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with lower offers.
At the close of the market, First Rock Capital Investment lost 0.92 of a US cent in closing at 8.03 US cents, with 4,000 units, Proven Investments remained at 24 US cents after exchanging 10,944 stock shares. Sygnus Credit Investments lost two-tenths of a cent in closing at 13.5 US cents with investors swapping 3,850 units and Transjamaican Highway slipped 0.01 of a cent and closed at 0.9 US cent, with 15,000 shares crossing the market.
