At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index gained 804.58 points to end at 201,686.80, the index recorded gains of 20.5 percent for the year to date. The JSE Market Index rose 962.45 points to finish at 184,648.99. The JSE combined index surged 1,262.68 points to end at 196,773.43, with a gain for the year to date of 24.3 percent.
At the close with 2,284,709 units valued at $18,900,534 changed hands, compared to 3,151,271 units valued at $45,655,245 changing hands on Monday. The junior market accounted for 361,716 units changing hands, valued at $1,755,268 of the stocks traded.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange failed to hold on to another record close, as some price pulled back towards the close, pulling the All Jamaica Composite Index, from a mid-day high of 201,922.95 after jumping 1,156.01 points, to the closed trading at just 110 point below Thursday’s record close.
The record run was aided by 35 securities changing hands, with the prices of 15 stocks ending with gains while 15 declined in the overall market, including 5 stocks rising and 6 falling, in the junior market.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index declined 110.38 points to end at 200,656.56, the index recorded gains of 19.9 percent for the year to date. The JSE Market Index fell 98.70 points to finish at 183,484.76. The JSE combined index lost 20.90 points to end at 195,315.17, with a gain for the year to date of 23.4 percent.
At the close with 4,934,021 units valued at $48,374,405 changed hands, compared to 4,365,700 units valued at $35,619,605 changing hands on Thursday. The junior market accounted for 1,417,214 units changing hands, valued at $6,281,632 of the stocks traded.

All Jamaica settles above 200,000

The Jamaica Stock Exchange All Jamaica Composite index jumped by more than 2,663 points by 10 o’clock to exceed the 201,000 points mark for the first time. The index fell back to sit just above the 200,000 market with Sagicor Group falling from an opening high of $27 to $25.81 but Caribbean Cement climbed to $36 and along with a rise in the prices of Grace Kennedy and Scotia Group provided support.

In early trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday with only a hand full of stocks trading, the all Jamaica Composite Index surged by more than 2,000 points at 9:40 to an all-time record high.
Sagicor Group hit a new high of $27 to help push the main market indices but Caribbean Cement also moved up resulting in the all Jamaica Composite Index jumped 2,178.48 points to 201,206.97 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed 1,947.95 points to 183,976.92, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index garnered 1,771.29 points to close at 195,800.77, the junior market index slipped a bit.
At 10 o’clock, the all Jamaica Composite Index moved up further by 2,663.70 points to 201,692.19, for gains of 20.5 percent for 2016 to date.
