The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended at another record close, with the All Jamaica Composite Index ending just under 201,000 points level as 35 securities changed hands, with the prices of 18 stocks ending with gains while 8 declined in the overall market, including 6 stocks rising and 2 falling, in the junior market.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index gained 225.66 points to end at 200,882.22, the index recorded gains of 20 percent for the year to date. The JSE Market Index rose 201.78 points to finish at 183,686.54. The JSE combined index increased by 195.58 points to end at 195,510.75, with a gain for the year to date of 23.5 percent.
At the close with 3,151,271 units valued at $45,655,245 changed hands, compared to 4,934,021 units valued at $48,374,405 changing hands on Friday. The junior market accounted for 1,021,062 units changing hands, valued at $5,305,996 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 85,208 shares compared to an average of 152,905 units traded on Friday with the average for the month to date being 128,061 units compared to 170,913 units for the month up to Friday. November ended with an average of 208,466 units.

In market activity, Berger Paints closed at $5.35 with 4,500 shares trading, Cable & Wireless lost 1 cent, in trading 413,195 units, at 76 cents, Caribbean Cement jumped $1.44 in trading 15,758 shares, to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $36.45, Carreras rose 1 cent in exchanging 19,414 shares at $66. Investors traded 82,610 shares of 1834 Investments to close at $1.30, Grace Kennedy traded 36,947 shares to close with a loss of 69 cents at $41.10, Jamaica Broilers lost 10 cents and ended trading with 8,100 units, to close at $14.65, Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 14,700 shares, to end with a rise of 1 cent at $5.36. JMMB Group traded 2,114 shares to close at $13.80. Kingston Wharves traded with a rise of 30 cents while 5,550 shares crossed hands to close at $19.40, Margaritaville Turks ended with 10,000 shares trading, to close at 22.1 US cents.ICI JSE sum 12-12-16 Mayberry Investments ended trading 108,960 shares, to close at $4.95, after rising by 45 cents, National Commercial Bank shed $1 and ended at $48 with 80,765 shares changing hands, PANJAM Investment traded 27,700 shares to close at $24.50, Radio Jamaica traded 137,260 units while rising 3 cents to close at $1.23. Sagicor Group closed with 810,095 shares changing hands to close with a rise of 3 cents at $26.05, Scotia Group gained 6 cents, with 8,900 shares changing hands, to close at $33.56. Sterling Investments ended at $15.70 with 24,143 shares being swapped by investors, Supreme Ventures gained 1 cent and ended at $4.71 with 66,895 units changing hands and Proven Investments traded 223,687 shares at 19 US cents, up from 18.56 US cents.
