Declining TTSE stocks beat gainers 5 to 2

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Friday, after 197 percent more shares traded than on Thursday, resulting in a near 5 to 2 ratio of declining to advancing stocks.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 5.59 points to 1,318.36, The All T&T Index added 4.65 points to 1,801.51, while the Cross Listed Index fell by 2.18 points to close at 112.77.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with two stocks advancing, nine declining and five unchanged. Market activity ended with 142,979 shares valued at $1,460,607 changing hands compared to 48,041 shares for $909,097 from 11 securities on Thursday.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 8,936 units at $91,288 versus an average of 4,371 stock units for $82,463 for each security. The average trade of 10,804 units at $139,058 for the month to date compares to 10,969 units at $143,280 on Thursday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.

Stocks rising│ Ansa Merchant Bank climbed $3.69 to close at 52 weeks’ high of $40 in exchanging 1,000 shares and Clico Investments gained 59 cents trading 2,635 stock units to settle at $25.74.
Stocks declining│Angostura Holdings lost 6 cents, exchanging 50 shares to close at $16.99, First Caribbean International Bank closed at $7.07, with a loss of 1 cent while transferring 2,200 units, First Citizens Bank shed 23 cents to end at $46.31, in trading 3,942 stock units. JMMB Group closed 1 cent lower at $1.78, with 81,697 shares crossing the market, Massy Holdings fell 31 cents to $58.69, after transferring 6,845 units, NCB Financial Group settled at $7.70, with a loss of 30 cents in an exchange of 500 units. One Caribbean Media shed 14 cents trading 2,000 units to finish at $5.06, Scotiabank closed 9 cents lower at $54.90, with 500 shares crossing the market and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 7 cents to close at $6.03, in exchanging 600 stock units.

TTSE ends week higher

The volume of stocks trading Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday dipped 12 percent below Thursday’s level with 10 percent more value, leaving the market to end mixed for the day and slightly up for the week.

The market closed with ten securities trading, with four stocks each advancing and declining and two remaining unchanged. Market activity ended, with 87,618 shares trading for $1,437,480 compared to 100,010 shares for $1,306,330 on Thursday from 15 securities.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 8,762 units at $143,748 versus an average of 6,667 stock units for $87,089 for each security. For the month to date, trading resulted in an average of 12,392 units valued at $134,169 versus 12,702 at $133,351 on Thursday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index rose 2.86 points to 1,328.81, The All T&T Index lost 0.33 points to 1,800.65, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.83 points to close at 115.76.

Stocks rising│ NCB Financial Group gained 19 cents to close at $8, with 39,000 shares crossing the market, Scotiabank ended 24 cents higher at $54.99, in exchanging 3,670 stock units. Trinidad Cement picked up 1 cent to settle at $2.01 trading 500 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL gained 6 cents in transferring 14,302 stock units to close at $16.16.
Stocks declining│ Clico Investments lost 1 cent to close at $25.49, with an exchange of 23,056 shares, National Enterprises shed 5 cents to settle at $4, trading 2,000 units. National Flour was down 2 cents, transferring 2,000 units to end at $1.83 and Prestige Holdings finished at $7.50, with a loss of 50 cents after exchanging just 12 units.

Volume doubles on TTSE- Tuesday

Trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday resulted in a 138 percent jump in volume, with 90 percent more value above Monday’s levels but the overall market dipped moderately.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, seven declining and six companies’ shares closing unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 85,316 shares valued at $1,386,510 compared to 35,937 shares for $727,964 on Monday from 20 securities.
The average trade on Tuesday amounted to 5,332 units at $86,657 versus an average of 1,797 stock units for $36,398 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade per security ends at 13,738 for $127,223, down from 15,532 units at $154,364 on Monday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.77 points to 1,328.24. The All T&T Index dropped 4.61 points to 1,797.91, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.15 points to close at 115.98.

The number of securities trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday jumped to 20, but the volume of shares trading dropped to just six percent of Friday’s and led to the market rising.

The market closed with twenty securities trading with five stocks advancing, four declining and eleven remaining unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to a mere 35,937 shares, valued at $727,964 compared to 592,382 shares for $2,592,060 on Friday from 17 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 1,797 units at $36,398 versus an average of 34,834 stock units for $152,328 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade is 15,532 units at $154,364 versus an average of 20,526 shares at $197,262. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index climbed 4.62 points to 1,330.01, The All T&T Index advanced by 4.02 points to 1,802.52, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.71 points to close at 115.83.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Wednesday, with the market inching higher after 61 percent fewer shares crossed the exchange, with 77 percent lower value than Tuesday.

Investors push TTSE higher for week

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading for the week on a positive note with all three market indices closing higher on Friday as well as the week, with four stocks rising at the close, two declining and nine remaining unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.65 points to 1,324.11, The All T&T Index rose 1.09 points to 1,796.29, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 points to close at 115.08.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading down from 16 on Thursday, with investors trading 66 percent more shares than on Thursday as 452,525 units changed hands at $4,111,682 compared to 273,269 shares for $4,126,089 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day was 30,168 units at $274,112 versus an average of 17,079 stock units for $257,881 for each security on Thursday. Trading for the month to date resulted in an average of 15,361 units crossing the market at $367,803, versus 14,500 shares at $373,250, to Thursday. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

Another mixed day for TT stocks

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Thursday, with the market closing mixed for the second consecutive day after investors traded 23 percent more shares than on Wednesday resulting in falling stocks just edging out those rising.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with three advancing, four declining and nine unchanged. The market ended, with 96,708 shares valued at $6,310,824 passing through the exchange compared to 78,331 shares for $1,467,537 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The average trade on Thursday amounted to 6,044 units at $394,426 versus an average of 6,025 stock units for $112,887 for each security. For the month to date trading resulted in an average of 13,197 shares at $340,405 each and the average was 13,895 shares for $335,134 on the prior day July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.13 points to 1,322.05, The All T&T Index added 1.03 points to close at 1,784.18, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.18 points to end at 116.19.

Some of Wednesday’s TTSE gains eroded

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange gave back some of Wednesday’s gains when trading closed on Thursday, with the market rising after investors traded 34 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday, even as more stocks rose than declined.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with three stocks advancing, two declining and twelve remained unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 131,310 shares valued at $2,321,854 compared to 198,535 shares valued at $3,608,553 on Wednesday from fifteen securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 7,724 shares at $136,580 versus an average of 13,236 stocks at $240,570 for each security. For the month to date, trading resulted in an average of 13,691 units for $193,393, compared to an average of 16,165 units for $216,950 up to Tuesday, which is above the average for July of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
At the close of the market, the T&T Composite Index fell 2.87 points to end at 1,322.10. The All T&T Index lost 6.75 points to 1,785.33, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.15 points to 116.06.

Stocks trading firm│ Agostini’s traded 62 shares at $25. Angostura Holdings exchanged 7,297 units at $15.30, Ansa McAl exchanged 3,310 stocks and closed at $50, Calypso Micro Index Fund traded 370 shares to close at $14. Clico Investments closed at $27.85, with a transfer of 36,232 shares, First Caribbean International Bank closed at $7 after transferring 2,000 stock units. Massy Holdings traded 2,316 units at $58, NCB Financial ended at $7.86, with 393 stock units crossing the market, One Caribbean Media exchanged 19,920 stock units at $5.25. Prestige Holdings closed at $8.35 in exchanging a mere five stocks and Republic Financial Holdings closed at $141 after an exchange of 356 shares and Unilever Caribbean traded 29,303 stocks to end at $16.90.

Rising stocks dominate TTSE market

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended on Tuesday resulted in fourteen securities, up slightly from twelve on Monday and ended with investors driving six stocks higher, two lower while leaving six unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 2.31 points to 1,316.77. The All T&T Index gained 1.20 points to end at 1,777.17, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.47 points to 115.72.
The market closed, with 346,932 shares at $2,070,714 passing through the market, compared to 117,290 shares for $3,215,698 on Monday.
The average trade on Tuesday was 24,781 units at $147,908 versus an average of 9,774 stock units for $267,975 for each security traded on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 17,855 units at $84,154. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than its last selling price and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Clico Investments climbed sharply higher by $1.85 to $27.85 trading 43,427 shares, JMMB Group gained 5 cents and ended at $2, as investors transferred 270,000 shares, L.J Williams B share picked up 4 cents to settle at $1.44, in an exchange of 6,900 stock units. Massy Holdings closed $1 higher at $58, with 3,534 units changing hands, NCB Financial added 6 cents to end at $7.86, after trading 1,000 units and One Caribbean Media finished at $5.25, after rising 10 cents as 15 units crossed the exchange.
Stocks declining│ First Caribbean International lost 5 cents trading 458 units to finish at a 52 weeks’ low of $7.05 and First Citizens Bank closed at $47.99 after losing 36 cents and exchanging 15 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Ansa Merchant Bank was unchanged at $36.30, in transferring 15 units, Ansa McAL closed at $50, with six units traded, a total of 16,370 Point Lisas’ stocks were exchanged at $3.10. Scotiabank remained at $54.90, with 15 units crossing the market, Trinidad and Tobago NGL transferred 5,052 stock units at $17.02 and West Indian Tobacco closed at $35, after exchanging 125 units.
