TTSE volume plunged on Monday

The number of securities trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday jumped to 20, but the volume of shares trading dropped to just six percent of Friday’s and led to the market rising.

The market closed with twenty securities trading with five stocks advancing, four declining and eleven remaining unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to a mere 35,937 shares, valued at $727,964 compared to 592,382 shares for $2,592,060 on Friday from 17 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 1,797 units at $36,398 versus an average of 34,834 stock units for $152,328 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade is 15,532 units at $154,364 versus an average of 20,526 shares at $197,262. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index climbed 4.62 points to 1,330.01, The All T&T Index advanced by 4.02 points to 1,802.52, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.71 points to close at 115.83.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than its last selling price and one with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Ansa McAL picked up 1 cent to close at $52.01; after transferring 153 shares, CinemaOne ended at $4.40, with gains of 20 cents trading 20 units, Prestige Holdings gained 20 cents to end at $8.20 in exchanging 288 stock units. Republic Financial Holdings closed $1.50 higher at $143, with 453 shares changing hands and Unilever Caribbean rose 27 cents to $16.97, in trading 882 units.
Stocks declining│ Agostini’s shed 25 cents trading 2,199 units to finish at $24.70, National Enterprises closed 18 cents lower at $4.02, after exchanging 3,000 stock units, One Caribbean Media slipped 8 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $5.02, in transferring 2,190 units and Scotiabank lost 1 cent trading 352 units to settle at $54.69.

Rising TTSE stocks top losers

Rising stocks edged out decliners on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday after investors traded 68 percent more shares, with 32 percent greater value than on Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with four stocks advancing, three declining and six unchanged. Trading resulted in 171,377 shares valued at $1,635,896 passing through the market compared to 101,727 shares for $1,242,094 on Wednesday from 14 securities.
The day’s average trade ended at 13,183 units at $125,838 versus an average of 7,266 stock units for $88,721 for each security on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounted to 14,126 units at $217,364 compared to 14,616 shares for $264,957 on Wednesday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.83 points to close at 1,326.39, the All T&T Index gained 0.61 points to 1,802.75, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.31 points to close at 114.81.

Investors push TTSE higher for week

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading for the week on a positive note with all three market indices closing higher on Friday as well as the week, with four stocks rising at the close, two declining and nine remaining unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.65 points to 1,324.11, The All T&T Index rose 1.09 points to 1,796.29, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 points to close at 115.08.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading down from 16 on Thursday, with investors trading 66 percent more shares than on Thursday as 452,525 units changed hands at $4,111,682 compared to 273,269 shares for $4,126,089 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day was 30,168 units at $274,112 versus an average of 17,079 stock units for $257,881 for each security on Thursday. Trading for the month to date resulted in an average of 15,361 units crossing the market at $367,803, versus 14,500 shares at $373,250, to Thursday. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange rose on Thursday, with investors trading 600 percent more shares than on Wednesday, resulting in more stocks rising than falling at the close, with locally based stock recording gains in the market index each day since Monday.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading, with the prices of five stocks advancing, four declining and the prices of seven ended unchanged. The market activity resulted in 273,269 shares valued at $4,126,089 changing hands, compared to 38,812 shares for $1,612,168 from 12 securities on Wednesday.
The average trade on Wednesday is 17,079 units for $257,881, versus an average of 3,234 stock units for $134,347 for each security. An average of 14,500 units traded at $373,250 for the month to date versus 14,330 units at $396,799. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index gained 1.51 points to 1,323.46, the All T&T Index added 4.58 points to 1,795.20, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.22 points to close at 115.05.

Trading rises on TTSE on Tuesday

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday with the market slipping after investors traded 282 more shares than Monday and closed with more stocks falling than rising.

The market closed with sixteen securities trading with two stocks advancing, six declining and eight unchanged, with 406,464 shares valued at $6,393,647 trading, compared to 106,336 shares for $2,270,419 on Monday from 11 securities.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.41 points to 1,315.90. The All T&T Index gained 0.69 points to 1,779.15, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.21 points to close at 115.20.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 25,404 units at $399,603 versus an average of 9,667 stock units for $206,402 for each security. For the month to date trading resulted in an average of 14,572 shares at $354,268 each and on the prior day, the average was 13,288 units at $348,895. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than its last selling price and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ First Caribbean International gained 1 cent to finish at $7, after trading 42,092 shares and JMMB Group picked up 1 cent in transferring 485 units to close at $1.94.
Stocks declining│ Angostura Holdings lost 5 cents exchanging 825 units to end at $15.30, First Citizens Bank settled at $46.10, with a loss of 20 cents in trading 6,116 stock units, Grace Kennedy closed 10 cents lower at $3.50, with 49,698 shares crossing the market. NCB Financial Group dipped 2 cents to $7.85, after exchanging 204,525 shares, National Flour ended 5 cents lower at $1.90, with 10,000 stock units changing hands and Scotiabank closed at $54.50, after falling by 40 cents trading 5,785 stock units.
Stocks trading firm│ Calypso Macro Index Fund ended with 300 shares changing hands at $14, Clico Investments remained at $27.78, with trades 37,229 shares crossing the exchange, Guardian Holdings exchanged 5,692 stock units at $19.34, Massy Holdings held firm at $59, in transferring 33,081 shares. Republic Financial Holdings traded 3,012 units at $141.25, Trinidad and Tobago NGL exchanged 4,121 stock units at $17, Unilever Caribbean closed unchanged at $17 in transferring 361 units and West Indian Tobacco closed at $37.05 trading 3,142 units.
